yeah, but they’re yummy
i am losing my mind
Did you look under the couch?
Perhaps in the bathtub.
Perhaps you should call your Rabbi?
Tonight was a night of fun & games!
First I discovered the cotter pin holding the hinge pin on the grill broke. I discovered this because said hinge pin came out while I was making dinner (grilled cilantro-lime chicky boobs & [del]baked[/del] grilled N.O.T.'s) That lead to a game of “Replace the Hinge Pin on the Hot Grill!”
Next it was a game of “Where the @#$& is my Passport”. Last time (admittedly a few years ago) I was there I didn’t even need a passport, just a driver’s license, because I drove there, which makes me want to paraphrase John Winger.
Which brings up this Very Important Announcement
I am proposing a Mini Montreal Mumperfest!
What day can you make it out, Midget (or anyone else)?
Got a new kitchen toy, in the form of a Kitchenaid stand mixer. DH is currently photographing our old Sunbeam to put on FreeCycle.
Bit ridiculous how happy a new appliance can make me. Even more ridiculous how much getting nice new clean undamaged drip pans for the stove burners can cheer me up.
Hi all. I haven’t been posting here but I’ve been lurking.
I want to go to the Mini Montreal Dopefest but it’s too far.
The weather is back to normal, which means I’m not roasting any more. One of the cool things about my place is that it’s in a location where “breaking 30” is pretty much unheard of; it hadn’t happened in the 6 years I’ve had the flat. Last week we broke it twice and had a max of 33 on Tuesday. You couldn’t tell which houses were occupied and which weren’t from the blinds, as everybody had the blinds down to keep the sun out.
I have work to do, it’s the kind of work that’s actually best to do at home (any music or lack of music I choose, minimal interruptions) but right now I’ve been looking at excel files for so long that my eyes superimpose grids on anything I look at. Break time.
Happy hump day, everyone! Today is pub day so I have that to look forward to and the weather’s good so we might even get to sit outside for a while.
I cannot make a mini mumpfest in Montreal because I will only be in Vancouver and Calgary…and three weeks today, I will be checking in at the airport for my holiday flight. I suppose that means I need to get the accommodation details finished and book the trips I want to do. Organisation, that’s what I need.
All appendages, inappropriate and otherwise, crossed for a yes-vote, Nuts!
Blurfyblurfyblurfblurfyblurfyblurfyblurf
Feeling sick again, had to call in blurf to work scheme… Getting bored of cat videos now
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 (heat index of around a hunnert with the hyooomidity) and a forty percent chance of rain which means it probably will rain.
Nava!!! Been missin’ ya. Come back and play!
Nettie my KitchenAid stand mixer is my favorite kitchen toy so I understand the excitatement.
Ok that’s all I got for now. Need more caffiene and it’s time to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Oh well, at least it’s hump day.
Happy Hump Day Y’all! I couldn’t resist.
What a horrible night!! I had a tough time falling asleep (my own fault for having a lot of caffeine at a late lunch) and I kept waking up. The neighbor’s dog barked around six, which got Higgs barking, so I’m up, breakfasted, and surfing. I should be able to monitor some crabs today, but the first guy on my list who popped up is going to a marina way up in Baltimore, so I can’t get him. Dammit. Hope some others show up locally…
We went by the little store yesterday and I need to stencil a few more towels for them. The owner also mentioned that it’s almost time for the texting mitts to come back. I’m going to make a bunch of smaller ones, plus I’m going to fancy up some of last year’s batch with buttons and/or beads. So today shall be a crafty day.
I fear today will also be a close-up-the-house day, alas. In fact, from the looks of the local forecast, the house will be closed thru Sunday. Dammit. C’mon autumn!!!
**flytrap **- are you going to keep dropping hints, or are you going to spill??
**swampy **- I think if that every single time someone says Humpday! It just cracks me up!!!
Happy Wednesday, Mumpers, all!!

Years of practice
Week off of irk and nothing got done in my absensce. Figures .
Need to figure out how long until the next vacation and start a count down. I need another one already.
Walked into irk yesterday to find my desk all packed up. Had a panic/woo-hoo moment thinking “Did I get fired?”. Wasn’t so lucky. They are replacing the carpet in my building and had to move my cube so they could lay the new carpet. Rats. Extra bonus as the new carpet is UGLY brown and doesn’t match the rest of the grey decor.
BLURF!!! *&$@ing dog woke me up at 10:30 last night o go outside, and it took me until 0130 to get back to sleep, despite the fistful of melatonin I took when I went to bed, and the milk I drank at midnight.
Morning, y’all.
I slept on my neck wrong. I had a short naptime when I got home from work last night, then spent the evening reading on the couch while trying to track down the source of the mysterious beeping noise that kept happening.
Roomie thought it was coming from the back hall, I thought it was coming from the kitchen. We replaced the batteries in the thermostat, which was the only thing in the middle of those two locations that might beep at us. I was momentarily terrified that the sound was coming from the smoke detector in my bedroom, which is about 25 feet straight up on a 30 foot steepled ceiling. But that had a green light, and I’m pretty sure it’s wired directly into the building’s electric.
We timed it and discovered that the beeping happened roughly every nine minutes. I went upstairs and Roomie stationed herself in the hall so we could narrow down the location. Finally, we discovered it had to be coming from somewhere in my desk. After a couple minutes of searching we discovered a cell phone (probably three phones ago) that had somehow gotten turned on during a different desk search and was now screaming for chargies.
This took up at least an hour of our night, in nine-minute increments.
I am in big trouble at work. They have us all under microscope. 4 people have already been let go, and there is talk of more being axed. I have a sinking feeling I am next. I hate this.
{{{Apes}}} that is a sucky situation to be in. Here’s hopin’ for the best.
TPTB felt the need to ship a box of duplicate files to my orifice. Why would I ever need such! Thus, they all got shredded this mornin’. Yeah, excitatin’ time that was but sometimes I kinda like doin’ somethin’ mindless like that. Anywho, the duplicate files and all their PII are now dumpster confetti.
Leftover from last night’s dindin for N.O.L. There’s actually enough that I only et half of it, so N.O.L. for tomorrow is already planned. Dindin tonight is sammiches cause Ima go get deli stuff. Da bear don’t wanna cook. That just may very well be dindin tomorrow night as well. Sometimes a bear’s just gotta be lazy.
Drae you are bein’ haunted by the ghost of cellphones past!
Happy Hump Day!
I have no idea of the temp because while my phone has put me back in hometown, it seems today is yesterday.
It’s hot, humid and cloudy.
I found my mind.
My internet connection is wonky.
Do butterflies copulate? That is what the two on the bush outside my window appear to be doing.
My appraisal came back for more than I am paying so that is good.
I guess now it is just a waiting game.
I feel as though I am in the Twilight Zone.
I once had a shrink tell me I wasn’t crazy, I was simply reacting to the crazies around me.
I try to hold onto that.
Apes no fun being under the microscope, been there myself.
When a mommy butterfly and a daddy butterfly really love each other…
Yay on the appraisal sari! Now to get the mortgage approved and sah-son and you away from the crazy.
