OMG, I'm the first? An MMP

Sorry Gotti

Once I buy the house I still have to figure out how I am going to furnish it and move into it.

I may be sitting on boxes and sleeping on the floor for a while.

Home from walking HellPup and feedign the cats.
Friday and Saturday I have PiddlePup again.

BBBobbio enthusiasm is a plus!

But…Mama Plant’s operation!

What?! There’s a Montreal dopefest and I haven’t heard anything about it???!!

Had a crappy day at work. I didn’t have much to do, and my crippling anxiety seemed to be preventing me from doing much about it. I was alone in the office for most of the day with not much to do, and I was getting lonely, bored, and depressed. Usually work occupies me and takes my mind off my family problems, which is good, but when I don’t have much to do, my thoughts tend to think too much about stuff I don’t want to think about.
(I wasn’t being lazy or avoiding work - there just wasn’t much to do.)

Towards the end of the day I had some stuff to do though. Mr. Tech Guy came by and asked if I could help him move some computers. I admitted that I was doing absolutely nothing at the moment, and I agreed to help, although the computers were really heavy. (Me being a little chubby came in handy, because I was able to balance computers on my belly fat somewhat. Heh.)

Then Mr. Techie and I went upstairs and he showed me how to do some work that I’ll do in the coming days (cleaning computer keyboards.) He called me “my dear.” Aww. Well, actually, many people at work call me that, but still, aww. My coworkers are so nice. I wish I wasn’t so shy around everyone all the time.

Oh yes, and I got my bass clarinet back today. Yay.

So someone please tell me about the Montreal dopefest.

Evenin’ Y’all! Dindin sammiches were wonderful. I made roast beast/chikin/ham/cheese club sammiches on rye bread. There was also lettuce and ‘maters to make ‘em all healthy. Plus I did some oven fries, so I cooked. Hey, if it involves the turnin’ on of a major heatin’ appliance, it’s cookin’.

sari while I agree young studs make the best movers, I’d be careful with the oil lest they get to slippery. They might drop the fridge.

Your answer is in post #105, where you were personally invited.

Give me a B
Give me an L
Give me a U
Give me an R
Give me an F

What does that spell?

BLURF!

Huh. I never knew UHaul had those things. Right now, they’re the leader at about $8600. Still ouch, but $2500 less is significant.

And just now, DH said “don’t forget…we do know some long-haul truckers.” Hmmm…

Would love to visit Montreal, but it’s not happening anytime soon.

Tired. Spent longer than I wanted to at irk, but got lots done.

Am waiting for brother to get home so we can go for a walk.

Yay!

Hugs.

Howdy all!

Tuna casserole for dinner. Not exciting, I know, but we like it. So did the nice lady from church we took some to, along with some cinnamon bread (she made a major mess of her back last week).

Debating acquisition of a “pouring shield” for the new mixer, after making a spectacular mess making said cinnamon bread last night.

A friend from church came over today and help teach me how to make jam. I made fig jam. It was my first canning experience and it was fun! Just now I made some hot pepper jelly, I hope it worked out! I can’t wait to try it.

The only reason I knew is that my daughter used them for her move to FL last month. As far as I’m concerned, our next move out of this house will be when we’re carted off the The Home… or if we win a mega-lotto and can afford a nice waterfront estate with a staff to maintain it.

**Apes **- I started last year with peach and strawberry jam - it’s so much easier than I ever expected, and it’s easier still this year since I know what I’m doing and I’ve got all the timing down!

Doggone Taz woke me when he was scratching one of the pillows on the bed. Thankfully, he hadn’t peed… yet… but talk about a rude awakening!! Stoopit cat. And unfortunately the dog heard me berating the cat, so she started barking. So much for a restful morning.

My day’s activities will depend on how many crabbers need to be monitored. It’s pretty sad - from my list of maybe 20, only 5 or 6 go out semi-frequently. One has dropped out of the program, and most just aren’t bothering. Why buy the gas if your harvest won’t even cover that?? It also explains why crabs are crazy expensive this year.

Breakfast has been ingested. Dishwasher is washing (I should have started it before I went to bed, but I forgot.) A dreary day of weather is promised - it’s already sticky humid at 73° - ugh. On the other hand, any day above ground…

Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out with with a predicted high of 94 with a heat index of around a hunnert and five and a very slight chance of rain. Apparently it’s August.

Apes I lurves me some pepper jelly! Pepper jelly and cream cheese smeared on a cracker is one of the nummiest of southern appetizers ever. Don’t know if you’ve ever done it, but let a block of cream cheese soften so it’s spreadable, then spoon pepper jelly over the cream cheese. SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!

Nettie bein’ as I am a slob the pourin’ shield was a must have for me.

Howdy StickyBuns!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

:dubious: Do you, now?

All I own can be carted in the back of my car in just a few trips. My few bits of furniture require a pick-em-up truck, but that’s it. There are benefits to being poor!

Off to irk. Hopefully Squirrel AGM has fixed my schedule so I’m not working the day I can’t work.

Blurf, with bonus :grumble:

I still maintain that moving was fun when I could get all of my worldly possessions in the back seat of a '73 Pinto.

Now that I can fill half of a semi trailer, Teh Suck is mighty. Yeah, I know, if moving is a pain in the ass, you’re doing it wrong…

Listening to Sam Roberts early in the morning:
“Another day breaks, and the last one’s gone,
You dig deep just to carry on…”

Can’t wait to see him perform tonight.

Off to work soon. I hope I’ll actually have stuff to do today.

Mording All,

Ah habs a coldb. Snorfle UGH!

I actually kind of love moving. The organization, the packing, the purging, and most especially, the opportunity to start all over again in a new place and put things wherever the hell you want instead of where they’ve always been.

But I hire movers, because I like having the energy to be excited once I’m in the new place.

I have been spending the morning largely banging my head against a brick wall.

I had an email first thing today telling me that two people who have been recruited to teach on a module cannot teach when it has been timetabled. They want it moved from Thursday morning to Thursday afternoon with seminar sessions on Friday instead.

That should be simple except it is a nightmare finding rooms at the moment, and also it is meant to be taught at certain times and days because it is offered as an optional module to all undergraduate students. Somehow I have to find a way of explaining this to several people.

Time to break out the Sri Lankan spiders with the sharp sticks.

So, I have a ‘good’ problem but still a frustrating one. In less than 2 weeks I begin student teaching. Since I’ve lost weight, though, I have few professional type clothes that actually fit me. And by ‘few’ I mean one pair of pants and 3-4 tops. I tried to go shopping about a week ago and it was so frustrating. The higher size was too big and the next size down was too small. Guess I’ll just have to suck it up and try again today or tomorrow. It’s just that I thought that clothes shopping was supposed to be fun. :dubious:
