A teacher in Florida is being investigated for showing her students the Disney movie “Strange World”. Unfortunately for the teacher and her class, the mother of one of her students is a school board member and, in her words: “God did put me here”.
My town just narrowly avoided this kind of nonsense in the most recent school board election, when our very own “God told me to run” candidate was thankfully defeated.
Isn’t amazing how so many of these “God told me” folks are those who believe God stopped talking to humans about two thousand years ago?

When I was on a visit to Seoul in 1976 I saw a big mosque that I was told had been financed by Mid East business interests. I wonder how it is faring. I didn’t go inside, but it was a nice looking building on the outside. Here it is
It’s a beautiful building, IMHO, much better looking than the other buildings in the neighborhood. I’ve taken my wife to see it, although we had to go into different rooms since they segregate the men and women during prayers. The last time I was there was in 2000 just before the pandemic caused travel disruptions. At that time, there were notices about the upcoming renovation of the complex. It is, after all, an old building now. When I first went there back in the late 1970s, I was given a nice bilingual Qur’an (Arabic/English). Today, you can buy bilingual Qur’an in a number of languages at a just downhill from the mosque.

Thank you so much for the update! I still wish I’d had time to see it. I’m not Muslim but I do know some of the rules for behavior and think I wouldn’t have been too much of an ugly American.
My wife is from Busan. There is a nice mosque. I’ve never been inside, but most of the photos at that link show it to be decent. The washing stations to prepary for prayer seem to have been hit hard by being close to the ocean (salt air).
