Ooooh, looky, it's the second annual springy MMP!

OK. Sick Assistant manger showed up, so I went home. I did laundry, got the car maintained(alignment, oil, new rear tires, wash, new wheel covers.). Then assistant manager trainee “quit”(Is it quitting if you just don’t show up, and the boss has to hunt you down? ). I went to work twice today, I’d have been better off staying there with gas at $3.60+. I saw the neighbor’s cat’s kittens today. I think I’ll snag one when the neighbor takes them to the shelter.

Haze, Re:drugs. Friends share.

{{{{{Pie}}}}

swampy, I like the make yur own martini idea. I would, except I’m never off when the ABC stores are open. :frowning:

Wow, Haze, across the world sounds about right–chick is crazy/stupid. Just think how fun it’ll be after you no longer have to deal with her BS and you get that perfect opportunity to tell her what a total hosebag she is…

Awww, Pie, so sorry about your sitch–I’ve been there quite often myself. SO and I have separated several times and it’s always over the same damned thing. It’s hard when you love somebody but they don’t seem to love you enough to stop tearing your heart out and stomping all over it. It’s worst when they miss hurting you just enough to kill the love outright so the seed is still there and keeps growing back during the time you’re apart so you get all set up to get stomped again. I got nothin’ in the way of solution 'cuz I’m still there but I do have to say mine is trying to improve–although he’s not nearly as good at it as he is at being an anger junkie. I gots hugs, though, and lots of sympathy–vent all you like, we’re here for you.

I should’ve done much more today than I did but my indulgence in Mexican food led to a fierce case of the squitters and that took all the starch outta me. Got dehydrated, too. Yuck. I have a big number-crunch that needs done but at the same time there are endless real world things I have to deal with and it’s really hard to switch from the practical to the skull sweat mode. I need a staff. And a paycheck, too–I joke that my buddy and I are the highest unpaid workers around! It’s gonna resolve soon, but the hurry up and wait thing sucks ass. Oh, and my solenoids being backordered for 2-3 WEEKS without notice is not helping in the slightest!

I’m listening to the new NIN album “The Slip,” available for free download in multiple formats–I went for FLAC because I consider 1.2GB of WAV files to be needlessly self indulgent. Good sounding album, I like.

FCM, whew! Bet you are so glad it’s all over! Looked like a fun partay, though!

I think a nice Martini Float would solve the sundae/booze argument. Mmm, vodka and ice cream, does it get any better? gag

Oh, and VBob, I read your BBQ treatise to the SO and you are officially his hero!

Rigs, “Walk The Line” kicks much ass, I agree. It always surprises me when actors do a good job in a singing role–most notably Val Kilmer playing Jim Morrison. I also just watched “Shanghai Kiss” and discovered that Hayden Panettiere has a pretty decent singing voice, who knew? It’s a cute little rom-com, I can recommend it.

Morning all.

{{{Pie}}} I hope it works out the way you want it to.

Haze, that is one crazy beeyotch! Stay as far away from the crazy lady as possible!

Speaking of ice cream and ice cream sundaes and ice cream sundae bars, I had ice cream for dindins last night. Hubby went out and I was still kinda full from lunch, so I just had a big ole bowl of Häagen-Dazs Dulce de Leche ice cream to fill the hole! Nom nom nom!!! BTW, I notice on the website that HDs are having a new flavor day on May 13 (4pm to 8pm), if any Murkins want to try a fee scoop of their new Vanilla Honey Bee ice cream.

I keep meaning to post my Creamy Chicken Enchiladas recipe, but every time I think of it I’m at work, and then when I get home, I just don’t wanna go near the computer. I spend so much time on the durn thing at work, it makes my eyeballs hurt to even think of doing more 'pooter type stuff at home! I will try to remember to post the recipe tonight.

So I went to the doctor on Tuesday and had blood taken yesterday (Wednesday) morning, as Doc wanted a “fasting” blood sample - no food, no coffee for 8-10 hours beforehand. Getting ready and moving in the morning without coffee was a tough call, but I survived! I have to wait until Saturday for the blood test results, but in the meantime Doc has me taking arcalion (aka sulbutiamine) and a multi-vitamin supplement. So far so good, I just hope there’s nothing untoward in the blood test results!

What gives?

I will explain after I do some reading & catching up.

Your godmother is right, I think, Haze.

Did everyone see nashii’s thread about her mom? So sad.

Hi Dotty and beebs. I was just going to comment about how quiet the night shift is when you popped in here. I think SO also needs to stop with the busy at work thing and get himself back in here…

Not sure why I’m awake…

GT

Pie, just dump TVMan’s sorry arse and find someone who appreciates you. It’ll save on angst and tissues!

LiLi, when you’re done Dysoning your place, will you come and do mine? My Dyson is nearly dead and I haven’t got time to shop for another one before next month. The cats are busy carpeting the house to look just like them - I swear there’s enough fur coming off those two to knit a new pair of mogsters.

Haze - I’m with the rest of 'em. Cloud Maiden is the kind of buddy you want on the other side of the world, with a significant time difference that makes it near-impossible to communicate! At least she’s paying the rent…

I need tea.

oops

Still visiting a friend in Little Rock. Having fun, but not having fun, if you know what I mean. Went to the local bear bar and there were literally MAYBE 15 people there all night.

I did make some guys night when he and another man were in a discussion about age, and one of them turned to me and said “How old do you think I am?” (I had been eavesdropping, as usual, and knew what he had just said his age was, but I answered “Young enough for me!”

Unfortunately, he was hooking up with the guy he was in conversation with and didn’t have any room for me. Hmph. And at 4 in the morning no one in their right mind is /actually/ online on manhunt (don’t google it, not worksafe).

[/TMI horned-up college student who is still a little drunk rant]

Also,

OMG it’s that easy? I always thought that it’d be something really difficult. I seem to remember my mom using Bisquick, but that way is totally easier.

[quote=everyone and their dog]
sundae sundae sundae!

Oh no! No ice cream for me please. My tummy is going gurgle gurgle at the moment. Anyone have any Gatorade?

{{Pie}} Not much else to add besides BTDT.
Time to brush my teeth and go to bed. I smell like bar and smoke but will shower in the morning.

Gatorade? That reminds me of my multi-vitamins! Doc has me taking Berocca, which has this weird side-effect of turning my pee fluorescent yellow. It looks like radio-active KoolAid!!!

Okay, back to work …

G’morning and happy Thursday.

That Cloud Maiden is … well, in the clouds! What an airhead … and worse.

More later today …

That totally rocks!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Alright, well, I talked to TVMan again. It seems as though we both have things to learn, but we’ll probably both be ok. Thanks all for your support both here in the MMP and behind the scenes.

Forgot to mention that my mom had cataract surgery yesterday. She was only there something like an hour! She seems a bit young to me to have that sort of thing done (56) but I’m just glad it went well. I guess they’ll do the other eye in a couple of weeks.

Alright, busy day today… I should really get off here and get ready for work!

Blrgf.

Same sh!t, diff’rent day. Time to forage.

I’m up, showered, make up done. What more do you want? Oh yea, hubby’s expecting breakfast when he walks into the door…I best go get going. I’m working today. I can has a day off please?

I had croutons and chocolate milk!
What?

ETA: Hi McUne!

Ergh. Morning.
Mr. Lissar appear to be still here. Or at least, he’s still visible. I wonder if he’s sick or if this is a Mental Health Day? Either way it means I get to play more with my new toy. The upholstery head is cool. It isn’t quite a Religious Experience, but then I don’t like vacuuming.

My parents vacuum (as my Dad pointed out after he fainted hearing the price of the Dyson) has been going fine for forty years. We’ve had three in five and a half. What’s wrong with modern vacuums?
Hugs for everyone who needs’em.

AUGH! HOW did you do that? I put in walk the line and it came back with garbage. I put in Johnny Cash and came back with this MMP and other threads. I finally put in Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon and it came back with anti-movie threads–the negative ones that made me want to punch my puter (not for the negativity, but for the simple fact that I knew there must have been a thread about it). Off to work–thanks for the search results!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! I’s up and all bright and chipper. Ok, not really, but I am up. I’ve already been out and about. I met ol’ y’all know who for brekkies at Three Squares. I know, I know… we can’t help it though. When we dine out, even at breakfast, it’s only the finest places for us. He’s on his way to the wilds of west Alabammy to see his momma. He decided to make it a long weekend and will be back on Monday. Don’t blame him cause it’s like a six hour drive one way. Thus, I’m a bachelor. However, Ima go see my momma tomorrow afternoon for the weekend, so it’s not like I’ll be runnin’ wild in the streets. I’ll be back late Sunday afternoon. I will try to sneak in a post or two whilst there.

I’m workin’ from home today just cause I can. YAY!!!

CutiePie hope everything works out for the best.

Haze hey, she’s payin’ rent like she’s supposed to do. There is that. Oh and I like what your godmother said about TG visitin’ ya in Korea. Smart lady!

SmartiePants a proper martini float would use gin. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, gonna get busy. If’n I get busy I can be through by noonish probably. That’d be jake!

ETA: donkeybear

HOW’S THE HAID THIS MORNIN’???!!!

I’m up and caffeinated, off to work. I’m going to try to sneak out “early”, since I went in on my day off.

:waves ant beebs:

:waves to everyone:

**Rigs ** I just put in “Walk the Line” and then just scanned the titles for something that looked right. It was only about 6 pages long, and didn’t take long to scan the titles. I got some MMP threads as well and garbarge.

Ok, so it’s too early to go to work. Is the search function case sensitive? Hmmm… And I never thought to put the title into quotations marks.

One last note on WTL: I thought Vivian (Cash’s first wife) was a tragic character. She did everything “right” and it still didn’t matter. She looked nice and acted nice and obeyed the conventions of her day to the letter. She had the nice house and the nice Sears men came and delivered her new stuff real nice, and she had every luxury a 60s housewife could want (funny how her kitchen just looks like a basic kitchen now. Funny and kind of sad). But none of it mattered-her husband was in love with another woman–fame/celebrity/music and June. I felt really bad for her.

But the other story line is great–I can see why it got the awards it did. And I used to watch Johnny Cash on Hee Haw and other specials on TV as a little kid. (and I remember the Amoco commercials, of course). I find myself less interested in the man or the legend and more interested in the music.

Have a great day, all.
