Ooooh, looky, it's the second annual springy MMP!

You and That Guy are together Haze? I missed something. When did that happen? Must have been on a weekend. I think I need someone to recap the end of each week’s MMP in the next MMP. Anyway, keep us updated if you decide to marry him to stay in the country!

Yeah, it was a weekend. See, I told you I need to keep a blog.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I now officially despise Cloud Maiden. She told me I should just skip out on my June rent as well, so I wouldn’t have to worry about losing the deposit if the landlord decides to screw us over. What. The fuck? She thinks it’s just OKAY to flout whatever rules she disagrees with? Smoking pot in defiance of the law is one thing - deliberately breaking a lease is another. Not to mention it’ll come back to bite her in the ass if the landlord files a complaint.

Also, she insists the whole thing is still my fault. I told her that if she wanted a subletter she should have, you know, actually looked for one (or at least asked me about it). She called me selfish and said that I should have been the one looking for a new roommate. I can’t believe I thought I knew her well, much less consider her a friend. She is a total stranger to me now. I’ll give her the bloody $600 if it means I never have to speak to her again.

It’s like a soap opera. If you miss a day, you might miss an important development in the Haze of our Lives.

Welcome back, kai. I’ll shuddup about our “chilly” weather of the past week or two, since at least we’ve stayed over 0C and we haven’t gotten snow in nearly a month now.

Does anyone happen to have a cloning machine or a Starfleet transporter they can lend me? I need to be in two places at the same time tomorrow, and they’re a 1 hr drive apart. Damned if I know how I’m going to manage that without borrowing technology from a Star Trek episode.

:Gets ready to send ninjas after Cloud Maiden:
Or just the Tiny Ninja Chef. He really believes he can walk.

In continuing update about Quazi-Daughter, she has not yet said Yes to Driving husband. Aren’t you all glad to continue the suspense? She has said she won’t make up her mind without a deadline, and he refuses to give her one. Good Lord, people.

I just got the oddest phone call. I mean, one occasionally gets recorded calls from political candidates. But this was a recorded message from a large defense contractor that just won a big airplane contract, asking me to call my congressman and tell him Congress needs to keep its nose out of the competitive bidding process! WTF?

I am still as tired right now as I was when I got up this morning. Caffeine is not helping. Would someone please send me a pile of energy, stat, in a usable form?

That’s awesome! Haze, you should totally start a blog and call it that!

Bad day.

At least it’s almost naptime.

{{Pie}}

LiLi, why do I get the feeling that QD is one of those girls who gets carried away organizing everything to the Nth degree, to the point that they don’t know what to do with the grey socks when sorting laundry?

Haze, shall I look up Cloud Maiden and beat her about the ears with a large cod for you? I need an excuse to go to NYC anyways, and this is as good a one as any.

In other news… I’m bored. Bored stupid. So completely and utterly bored that I’ve gotten to the end of the internets… I’m all caught up on my celebrity gossip, all caught up on my obsessive browsing of vintage sewing patterns, all caught up on friends’ blogs, and all caught up on the SDMB posts that interested me (and a few that didn’t, but that I just poked at for no reason at all). I even spent about 20 minutes looking over the traffic logs for my blog, just for sh*ts and giggles.

AARGH.

Someone entertain me. Please?

::dances wildly about, tripping over furniture in the process::
Howzzat?

Hey! Look! It’s that guy! You know, that, um … that guy. Who used to hang around here all the time but went missing two weeks ago. Muh…muh… Mindsomething.

Yeah. So. With the blog having taken off I really do feel like I’m working two jobs here. Heck, I’m blogging while at my real job. There just aren’t enough hours in the damn day anymore. And we’re starting work on a sister blog, which will be joined eventually by a third (albeit lower maintenance) blog. It’s like … a lot of work. Especially for only two people. We’ve really got to try and find some auxiliary help who can actually spell and write well and who doesn’t mind that there’s no money in it yet. (Well, us founders get a bit of money from the ad revenue; it already pays for its yearly bandwidth in a month, so the rest will go towards ourselves and stuff for the blog. It ain’t much, but it’s something.)

The wife and I also got scammed on an iPhone. The guy seemed legit, had some feedbacks 'n stuff… but never delivered the goods. So we ended up being out $480. That’s a right pisser, that is. We filed with PayPal and they found in our favour (they tried contacting the seller, but he never responded) but now they have to try and get the money out of him, which basically seems to consist of trying to contact the seller to put money in his PayPal account. I think we pretty well know how well that’s going to go. Grrrr.

And I had a boil. I think it was a boil anyway. For the past 3 weeks or so. It finally broke yesterday. (I’ll spare the gory details. Or – wait, this is the MMP, y’all like gory details, don’t you?) Now it’s on the mend, thankfully, though there’s still that swollen lump there, which I suppose will disappear over the next week or so.

Anyway.

Great OP,GT! It’s definitely spring here. Spring in southern Ontario has been weird so far. The first week of April was definitely early spring, with temps between 0°C and 8-9°C. But then the second and third weeks decided to skip all that warming up nonsense and jump straight into mid-teens right up to mid-twenties pretty consistently. I could walk out in short-sleeved shirts and feel perfectly comfortable. Then they returned to more seasonal temperatures, though we’re back up to mid-teens now.

Nature-wise, it’s been pretty average. The trees are flowering and leaves are popping up. Grass has gotten lush and green. Where flowers have been planted for the season, they are flourishing. It’s quite beautiful, though I know spring’s best is yet to come.

chaoticbear - As a general rule we don’t skin beavers, though we do occasionally shave them. Then w-- uh, wait. What exactly are we talking about here?

Hank - Before coffee? Well, put it this way. Why do you think war has been on the decline since the 9th century? Coffee. The uncredited peacemaker.

Manha[sup]2[/sup] - Wait. What do 'murikan smarties contain if not chocolate?

At this rate I’ll get married before QD.

I’m thinking of burning all of CM’s stuff and mailing her the ashes. Think that’s too vindictive?

Probably.

Ninjas are good. And wet fish.

'murikan Smarties are like Swee’Tarts

I know a guy. Really. The $600 you were going to send to CM? Give it to him and she’ll never bother you again. (You think I’m kidding?)

ALL I WANT IS TO TAKE A FREAKING NAP. Why isn’t this possible? How long does it take to call me back???

Thanks rosie. That’ll do me for now.

Mindy! My Canadjun bredren! Have you thought about contacting local colleges to see if they can provide you with an intern from their communications or journalism programs? Students tend to be ever so grateful for any real-life experience you can provide them with, and despite the fact that standards for post-secondary degrees seem to have gone down the toilet lately, they’re usually pretty good with the spelling n’ writing n’ stuff when their program specialises in such things.

Howdy Y’all! I’m Home!!! Ok been home for a while. I’ve been productive though. I brought some stuff home to work on. Still got a little bit to do. I made the decision to do some work from home because one I can and b.) it’s nice out and I didn’t wanna stay at work. So There Work! :stuck_out_tongue:

And… I’m bein’ taken out for Mexican food in honor of Cinco de Mayo. I sorta suggested it. Ol’ y’all know who ain’t real fond of Mexican food but does lurve him some fajitas so we’re goin’ to the Mexican place that makes the good fajitas. Of course cerveza shall be consumed in honor of the occasion.

Now for other stuff…

kai appropriate and inappropriate appendages crossed for the Elton John tickets.

donkeybear yay on finishing school. And as to the leather jockstraps I shall require pictures so I can decide whether or not your friend does good work.

gotti IT has no manners. He should know he should share. Oh and as to the closets… well, you’re gay. You should know better than to even think any project wouldn’t require major renovation and redecoration. I wanna redo the floors in the living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry room but I am afraid of what will happen when/if I do. First the new floors will make the paint look shabby, then the new paint will make the furniture look shabby. Of course, new kitchen floor will probably mean new countertops which will mean new appliances, which will mean new cabinets… and new floors in the laundry room… will I need a new washer and dryer to match… gay home improvement projects are a dangerous thing. Personally I am in agony because I yanked out all the stuff planted in front of da cave and now need to get new stuff. I want boxwoods but where will that lead… however I have to do sump’n cause now there’s nuttin’. Bein’ gay ain’t for the faint of heart I tells ya!

OK, gonna go finish up this last bit of work and then go get fajitaed and cervezaed.

Later Y’all!

ETA:

Howdy MinDude LTNS!

Haze I wouldn’t refund nuttin’ to Cloud Maiden. She ain’t worth worryin’ over. We’ll all wish her a lifetime of nasty papercuts instead.

One down … in more sense than one! Yay!! Okay, almost at the 24 hour mark of being free from cigarettes. And one down, four to go until the weekend. Woo Hoo!

I honestly can’t think of anything else right now, unfortunately. I think I’m going to go lay down for a bit; it helps keep me from thinking about you-know-what.

Yay, tarra!

We’re having homemade carnitas for dinner in honor of Cinco de Mayo. It’s been in the crock pot all day and should be really tasty by the time we get home.

This is after our amazing dinner last night: fillet mignon, those curry potatoes I posted the recipe for last night (WARNING: Do not make them if you’re on a diet! They involve a whole lotta butter and they’re insanely addictive so even if you swear you’re only going to have a few, you turn around and the next thing you know, half the pan is gone and your fingers are suspiciously yellow.), and sauteed broccolini. Mmmmmmmmmm. It was goooooood.

Oh, bloody hell. They’re remaking Brideshead Revisited. One of my favourite books. Into a Big Hollywood Thriller. Kill them now.

Mahna, are you sure you don’t know me and QD in real life? Because when QD was sixteen and away at summer camp, she indeed ran into a huge problem with grey socks and laundry. She’d never done it before, and she was being taught to sort laundry. Sorting, great! She can sort! Dark in one pile, light in another!

Grey socks!

Oh no!

FIfteen minute debate about which pile!

It was really, really funny.
Haze probably will get married first. Argh.

They DESERVE one another. QD needs some type of anxiety med and Driving Husband needs to grow a set. There, I said it.

TNC is adorable, but needs to be talked to re the walking. He truly doesn’t want to be mobile–he just thinks he does. I suggest a heart to heart.

Good work, tarra!

Hmmm, I wish those were all my garden; the set that’s called “gardens everywhere” has a few from my garden, but it’s mostly two friends’ gardens and the park where I volunteer. I just updated photo titles to clear that up. The crabapples are mine too. I love them. Thanks for all the compliments anyway.

Hi Mork!

Hi donkeybear! It’s been more than a few weeks since we last saw you, hasn’t it?

Longish day, but not as stressful as last week.

Need to go shopping and then work in the garden a bit.

Back later…
