Ooooh, looky, it's the second annual springy MMP!

Keep it all, sell the good stuff and use the proceeds to offset the cost of the rent she owes you. If you do decide to send her the ashes, use 'em in Olive’s litter box for a week or two first.

Papers are done and turned in on time. I think I’m going to be a good girl and go to bed early so I can study for my final tomorrow. That or I’m going to play Guitar Hero and screw around on the interwebs all night.

Good luck, kai, on the Elton John tickets! My sister and niece saw him recently. They were going to a mother/daughter college alumni event, and the highlight of the event was an EJ concert. Except that the second the tickets went on sale, scalpers snatched them all up and almost none of the intended audience could get any. So what did EJ do? He put on a second concert! So they were able to get tickets. And my sister says it was possibly the most impressive concert she’s ever been to. He’s apparently just amazing on stage. So I’m sending good thoughts your way!

herbs, I quit smoking many years ago before there were any quitting aids, so I did it cold turkey. The thing that helped me the most was when I’d get a craving, I’d give myself 15 minutes of ignoring it; even physical cravings can’t sustain themselves for longer than 15 minutes, so it passes usually well before that time was up. I was a fairly heavy smoker, but that was 30 years ago and I have never, ever been tempted to pick up another cig again. It’s a habit well worth moving on from; you feel so good about yourself and so successful when you make it. So hang in there, I’m pulling for you!

How old is (g)Nat now, anyway? Because I’ve actually known a couple babies that walked at 7 months. I agree with Rigs, a good heart-to-heart to explain to him to undesirability of early mobility is an excellent idea. He doesn’t want to grow up that fast!

Is it bedtime yet? Have I finished this insanely looooong job yet?

Crap. No to both. :frowning:

1st thought on reading the title of this thread:

(Richard Burton voice): “This is the winter of our discontent made…oh, look, a bunnie!”

It’s Mindy! Hi Mindy! That sucks about the iPhone. People are bastards all around.

I think I’ve achieved nirvana. I am now responding to all Cloud Maiden’s emails with “Yes, I know, I’m a bitch that loves nothing better than to mooch off my friends. Sorry.”

Her latest justification is that any roommate we would have found would probably have murdered me in my bed. I am not exaggerating. She said I should have been grateful to live with NE Gentleman because a roommate off craigslist would have stolen my stuff and stabbed me while my back was turned. I think she’s sincere.

The girl has issues. Hey, I’m all about issues. I got me some issues myself. But we’re not close enough friends for me to feel obligated to deal her issues at the expense of my peace of mind, so I’m just going to shove the money down her throat and never speak to her again.

I just planted some flowers out on the windowbox. I need to buy more - the box is longer than I thought it was. It’s going to look pretty.

I solved the gray socks dilemna a long time ago. I don’t buy 'em. Really, they are useless, IMO. I have dress socks in assorted colors, mostly black or navy blue with a beigy pair or three thrown in just cause. Socks for jeans and all else are white. Laundry is much simplified.

LiLi QD and DH should be forced to marry each other for the sanity of everybody. However, I shudder at the thought of QD being a parent. Well, you’ll suffer more than the rest of us but we’ll suffer vicariously through you.

The following is not for LiLi’s eyes:

Advice to (g)Nat… Forget the walkin’ thing bud. It ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. Wait a couple years or a year, whatever’s supposed to be appropriate. If ya really want to drive the ‘rents nuts… insist on takin’ up drivin’ as soon as you’re old enough. Oh, and when you are up and about, mysterious crashes the 'rents can’t figure out is a classic! Just let me know if I can help you out with that, ok?

OK, LiLi you can look again.

Ima go now. I’m meetin’ ol’ y’all know who at his place and from there it’s fajita and cerveza time. I may stay there (his place not the restaurant) tonight because it’s convenient. Maybe I’ll post from there just for fun.

Later Y’all!

ETA: GOOOOOOOOOOOO Herbs! You can do it!

:D:D:D:D

Nap is over. Still tired. More work now.

Same here - I used to make those things by the dozens professionally, or at least as professionally as one can make leather jocks.

Feel free to be impressed or repulsed at the idea of how many bodies my fingerprints are on.

Now, I just have to be content with knowing that my work helps to keep your money wherever it is you expect it to be.

Weeeeeeell, at the very least, I must know QD… because I can’t imagine that same story happening to two completely separate girls (it’s my go-to story for the epitome of OCD-level organized people, hence the reference above).

Mind you, I haven’t spoken to her in about 8 years or so, though, so it’s entirely possible you and I don’t know each other. Errr… do I look familiar?

(I’m trying to decide if I should be weirded out or not at this stage, but then again, my life is full of bizarre coincidental happenings lately)

Way to go, tarra! Just keep going at it one day at a time, and you’ll eventually get there.

Haze, she’s totally wrong. According to my mama, people from the internets are axe murderers. You can’t stab people in their sleep with an axe, you dismember them. Eeesh.

Spring is officially here! (As long as we don’t get any more freaking snow!)

Look! Green grass!

And a tulip in our yard!

I worked all day and I found the end of the internets too Mahna. I know the feeling.

I wanted to go out for Mexican tonight in honor of Cinco de Mayo, but hubby shot that idea down. Maybe this weekend. I want good mexican food!

Attention Mumpers and Mumpettes:

I need your opinion on what to do about something that just occured. As you may or may not remember, I recently loaned my old vehicle to one of my employees. I guess I should clarify that when I say ‘old’ I mean old. It’s a 1994 Saturn SW2 with about 160,000 miles on it. Well, it’s a got some little issues here and there, but nothing safety related. That was, until I loaned it to her the brakes made a noise when she was backing up. Last I had heard it only happened once. Tonight she called and between her and her husband they explained to me that the calipers are frozen on one size and basically that the rear pads and rotors and the one caliper needs to be replaced. (Possibly rebuilding the caliper, I don’t remember.) Now let me state that I trust her 100% that they’re not making this up. Anyways, my question is this: Who should pay this repair bill? It’s relatively inexpensive, only about $150. However, with the frequency that I tend to drive that vehicle and my driving habits, who knows when it would have surfaced. You can safely assume that neither she nor I can afford this right now. (I’ll save you either one of our sob stories.) But I’m honestly not sure what is fair. Should I split it with them, pay it all? As it stands, they haven’t asked me to pay anything. They were just informing me of the work that was being done since it wasn’t really their car.

I don’t know… I’m at a loss here.

Those pictures are lovely, gt, and that was a nice OP to boot.

Hugs, yays, boos, and good luck wishes to those in need.

I finished the last of the required annual on-line training today. Good grief, there was a ton of it. At least I’m done for another year.

We will not be going out to dinner tonight because we were bad, bad, bad over the weekend. We did have a healthy, low fat meal for dinner last night, but we had a big breakfast in the morning, and we had Herfy burgers on Friday night. We also had a healthy, low fat dinner Saturday night.

So, I spoke to the nurse today about tomorrows guided needle biopsy for the nodules on my thyroid. I googled the procedure beforehand, so I sort of knew what to expect anyway. I’ll be fine for driving, but she put the kibosh on working out tomorrow night. She warned me about having what will look like great big hickeys on my neck. Greeaaaatttt, that’ll look really cool in an office environment.
She doesn’t want me working out because of the strain it’ll put on my neck. I should be good to go for the next day though.

We watched Lars and the Real Girl last night. It was a funny, quirky movie. Actually, it seemed kind of sad too, but we did enjoy the movie.

ETA: Haze, I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t give Cloud Maiden the TP I wiped my ass with. She’s the one who reneged, not you.

Heat Seeking Missile aka Cloud Maiden sounds cuckoo to me. Of course, anyone who moves to another state and just continues to pay rent (and her BF’s rent, if I got that story straight) is a bit cuckoo.

I had my first guitar lesson today! He is teaching me to play “A Hard Day’s Night” (he picked it–I can’t possibly choose with all the world of music in front of me). I know the G chord, but cannot [del]contort[/del] position my fingers for the C chord. I also learned where E, F and G are. I am happy.

House is on tonight. [sub]I also made an impulse purchase of Walk the Line today at Border’s. Shhh. Don’t tell[/sub]

ETA–good luck on the biopsy, Taters.

Whoah… OMG I just got a totally surprising email from someone completely out of the blue. Not sure if I should discuss it here, but whoah.

Skim skim skim. Spent five hours running errands this afternoon, came home, cleaned up a bit, and then ran back out the door for Movie Night Hostess’s show. ‘Twas nice. I discovered the way to the Hosts’ children’s hearts is with a basket of freshly picked strawberries (I didn’t bring them, someone else did). I came home and played beauty parlor.

I must explain the upcoming link. Yesterday I dyed my hair again. It came out a lot darker than I was expecting, but I managed to cover 98% of my hair. I’ve been needing a haircut, so I convinced one of the Roommates to shear me. His hand slipped at one point, so it went up a bit from shoulder length.

Behold the shorn Spaz!

Me like. Now it’s off my neck for the summer.

I’m gonna go internet for a bit and then shower and bed. I gotta get up early for my last few hours at Reference Work.

CutiePie if they wanna fix it so they can drive it, fine. If they’re sayin’ we want you to pay to fix this problem on the car you were so kind enough to lend us, then take the car back. Yeah, I’m an ol’ meanie. You are the one doin’ them the favor.

I’m home. I decided not to spend the night. See, ol’ y’all know who has some work to get done and if’n I’d stayed there I would have distracted him. Yes, I am a distraction. After all, what would you want to do, paperwork or me?

gotti what we need is pics of donkeybear wearin’ the leather jock so we can judge the errrr… quality. As to leavin’ your fingerprints on bodies… how you doin’?

Tres cervezas made me frisky. What can I say!

Good luck on the biopsy Taters. Appropriate and inappropriate appendages will be crossed.

MCUNE is that your shadow on the grass? Does seeing your shadow on the grass mean six more weeks of Spring?

Guitar Hero!! I wish I had a TV so I could play. It’s stuck in the ex-bf’s storage unit.

swampy, if I send you pictures, I’ll expect some in return. It’s only fair.

gotpasswords what a fascinating job that must have been! The guy making it also happens to be a professor at my school and we’ve kind of had the hots for each other for a while, so now that I’m not a student anymore…

Now I’m putting off doing laundry (no gray socks though) and cleaning out my car because the parents are going to be visiting on Friday, and I’m going out of town tomorrow night to play in Little Rock, and won’t be back until hours before graduation. Gotta make everything purty so they don’t know how big of a slob I am.

Hi, honeys! It’s FairyChatMom-In-Law! I’m home safe and sound and I’ll get all caught up tomorrow after I take my sweetie to work. The wedding was lovely and very eventful, which I’ll share later.

So you can stop fretting about me and start sending the chocolate love offerings again - I could use some!

MWAH!!!

I’ll bake you some cookies.

All of a sudden I have an almost overwhelming urge to watch The Graduate.

Newsflash… the 'rents figured that out yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssss ago. :stuck_out_tongue:

**Swampy ** hopefully my shadow means 6 more weeks of spring.

Oh, oh, oh, GUITAR HERO! I’m hooked on Guitar Hero III for the 360. I managed to 5 star all of the songs on Easy and I’m almost done with career on Medium. I need to just pass the final guy. LOVE me some guitar hero!
