It’s a foggy 46 degrees outside. Supposed to be cloudy and rainy all day, with a high of 53.
I don’t know if anybody else will show up at the park today, but we’re still going.
Or I’ll have hell to pay later.
Other than that, the only things on the agenda for today are irk and house irk. Irk will happen, I already have people waiting in my queue. House irk may or may not.
Out of leftovers, so I have to figure out something to make for dinner.
Wet precip is falling from the dreary, gray sky, and there’s a 70% chance it’ll continue thru the night. rah. If **FCD **ever gets up, we’re going out for breakfast, but he was snoring pretty good when I got up. Time will tell.
All I’ve planned for today is changing our bed linens and cleaning the critter fountain. I’ll probably push the vacuum cleaner around, too. Maybe. We shall see.
As I was getting dressed after my shower, I noticed a paper bag on my dresser. Inside was a book and toy I’d bought for my nephew, and completely forgotten about. I wound up buying him some trucks and giving his mom some cash for his college fund.
Looks like Roxy is getting a surprise book and toy!
It also looks like I should clear off my dresser - who knows what else has accumulated there??
FCM clearing off her dresser has inspired me to clear off my table. My humble abode is a room and bath. I have no space for 36 rolls of tp. Plus, living alone that much tp would last years.
So my table is a magnet for gathering stuff. I am going to see the top of it today! And I will have space to write my play!
Mrs. L.A. stops watching shows if she thinks they’re ‘satanic’. I missed the last season of Preacher because she’s seldom out of the house. I thought I’d start watching my recordings while she slept. The recordings are no longer on the DVR. I don’t tell the DVR to keep shows forever. Instead, it defaults to ‘keep until you need room’. I guess it needed room. Preacher is not available on AMC On Demand. The only way I can watch it is if I pay for it.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasting, bed stripped, a load of sheets and towels in the wash, puppy crate cleaned and the bed stripped. Once KP is done, I shall purtify and go to town for groceries and a book for the heathen children.
For the longest time, my go-to at Cracker Barrel was the egg sammich. But a few months back, they changed the sammich, and I didn’t like the sound of it, so I’d opt for other things. Till today - I decided to give it a try, sans the spiced mayo, since I’m not a fan of spicy.
And, of course, the kitchen made it with the mayo, which was as bad as I might have imagined, so after a bite, I sent it back. When the replacement came back it seemed to have half as much egg as the original. I cut the sammich in half, and put all of the egg on one side. Even then, there was too much bread per egg. So I know what I’m never ordering again.
Bummer of a way to start my day. I guess I need to get on chores now. It never ends, does it?

Well, Moooommmm, it reall ymust have been disappointing for you to tell us about it twice In your defense, the board has been slow this am.
Got my painter scheduled, going out to do the same for my floors in a minute, bought a new desktop computer from Dell, and picked up 25 boxes and tape from the U-Haul place to do some packing. Oh, and finished off a couple of grocery items that I forgot yesterday. So it has been a productive morning. Soccer from 1-6 Pm today so I should get a good night’s sleep tonight.
moonie, you’d be surprised how fast one person can go through toilet paper…plus swampy is our resident toilet-paper hoarder, he tends to get the vapors if you don’t have at least three dozen rolls on hand…
I didn’t even hit submit twice - the board timed out, so I went to another page. I blame Trump!
Meanwhile, I’ve vacuumed, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the critter fountain, stripped the bed, and started a load of sheets. Next will be a load of towels. That’s how exciting my day is. **FCD **is in the shop - he’s got something to weld. I hate when he welds alone, but I’ve got stuff to do and I can’t be sitting in a stinky shop while be does what he’s doing.
Maybe in addition to the intercom, I need to hook up a camera in the shop. But not today. There’s knitting to be done!
Here in Ar-kansas the weather is…well…crazy. it was unseasonably warm yesterday. I opened a window. Needed a fire this morning. :smack:
I’m still feeling good. My stamina is decreased. So I’m pacing myself.
I hope all you ‘sickos’ get better soon.
I’m going back to my rat killin’…
Howdy Y’all! We erranded, did chores, and et at WH. We got shrimpies at the Pubic Sto’ so sup shall be shrimpies 'n grits and broccoli since broccoli is on hand for the couch chikin anyways, so might as well use it all. I shall now put the couch chikin together and then I foresee nappage.
Well the only other advice I can give you involves explosives.
We drove back to the ‘big house’ last night 'cause Wifey had to show properties today. So I’m sitting here this morning and thinking “My Og, we’ve got a lotta crap!” (or words to that effect). We need to get rid of a metric buttload of stuff.
The big problem comes when we try to decide what goes and what stays. Wifey always wants to get rid of my stuff, and I want to get rid of ‘not my stuff’.
But for now, I need to pertify and prepare for going about my lawful occasions, and decide what to fix for dinner.
I did have some company at the park MetalMouse, Lily and Jax showed up. Lightening too, but he goes on the small dog side and as he is older, he gets a little grumpy with other dogs.
Lily likes to play with Ripple, but then she doesn’t like it when Echo joins in, Jax only wants to play ball. I was hoping Puppers would come back, she is not much bigger than Echo, and Echo likes having somebody her own size to play with.
The sun came out as we were leaving the park, but it didn’t stay out long.
I should be up doing something, I think I’d rather take a nap.
You know those cans of popcorn you can get at Christmas? Mr.Wrekker recieved one at his Club Christmas party. I cracked it open. The popcorn was stale. Bad, very bad. I wonder can I feed it to the Chickens?
I always wondered about those cans of popcorn - especially when they started appearing in Sept and Oct. Popcorn really isn’t very good the next day, let alone months later. But chickens probably won’t care - and if they do, what can they do to you???
I started watching The Crown on Netflix. I think I’m going to like it.
Meanwhile, supper here will be forage for whatever. I had a late lunch of leftover scampi, so at this point, I may just want an orange. **FCD **is watching Master and Commander for the gazillionth time and I just don’t want to, so I guess I’ll surf a while.
Preacher showed up again on the DVR. It’s not on my Xfinity streaming online, though.
Rather than walking around the park, going to the main road, down the the beach, up the beach, and up the hill (a little over 2.1 miles), I walked three laps around the park (⅔ mile per lap), down the hill to the beach, and up the hill from the beach (a little over 2.1 miles). I met a 50-ish couple on my street as I finished my last lap of the park. They’re renting a cottage up the street via Airbnb. They love it here. They say it’s a different vibe from other beach towns. They asked if I get up every morning and think, ‘I’m so glad I live here!’
It’s Saturday, so breakfast was freshly-grated hashbrowns, two pieces of bacon, and a poached egg (two over-easy eggs for Mrs. L.A.), coffee, and a glass of V8. That was like five hours ago though, so we’ll go to dinner after I have a shower. There’s a place down the beach we haven’t been to for dinner for like eight or nine years. Mrs. L.A. got sick the next day. We went there New Year’s Day for biscuits and gravy for breakfast. It’s about time we try dinner again.
I’ve gotten very little done today, but it’s not my fault. The phone would not stop ringing. First Old Flame. Then my nephew. Then a very dear friend. They were great, and I’m glad we had such nice long talks; it’s just now it feels like I’m behind somehow. And I have to call my sister yet. I haven’t had a chance to eat anything. I did fold laundry. Impressive, no?
Beck, I think the popcorn would be fine. Have you ever fed them leftover chicken? Mine loved it, the little cannibals, and I understand that’s common. The moral foundations of chickenhood are not what one might hope.
Question: why do we say “aught” instead of “oh” or “zero” in gun models? Or maybe that’s just a regional thing? Like The Vorlon’s inquiry to Beckdawrek. Does anyone say it any other way than “thirty-aught-six”? It’d sound weird to say it any other way.
