On a side note, what do y’all think about the different areas for scountin’ for hoes? What are the effects of each? Specifically, I think I should find a district that gives me more thugs, because I’m pretty low on thugs compared to others in my range. Next time I play I will start buying some to supplement my army.
post day 1, i’ve been thinking about the same issue as Tzel. After i stocked up on items from my initial stash, i checked out the scouting areas and started hitting the nightclubs with a vengeance. got about 10 hoes and 3-4 thugs per 10 turns. it’s my hunch that the “urban ghetto” is good for recruiting thugs.
on another note, i’m getting heavily bitch-slapped. some guy got a bunch of AKs and home invaded me a whole bunch of times. i tried to retaliate, and (like a true punk) all my thugs got KIA, which sadly meant i had to leave all my pimp-ass rides behind. to add insult to injury, he then home-invaded me again and took all the cash i had on hand. is there any way to protect yourself from this kind of violation?
General rule: If they’re kicking your ass invading your house, you’re going to get your ass kicked invading their house. Just lay low for a while and build up your arsenal. Before you use any turns, get your payout as low as possible, while keeping your whores happy. If you are going scouting, try to keep the payout high enough to keep the whores at 100%. Otherwise, 90% will do, IME. Buy lots of condoms. That will keep the whores happier, allowing you to set the payout lower. And of course, buy BIG GUNS!

Hmmm, just realized that’s prolly a bad idea. I’m guessing hoes make more money if they’re happy, so keep them at 100 all the time!
White Lightning, 1) don’t keep any money lying around, spend it as soon as you get it, and 2) don’t attack people if they’re gonna whoop your ass like a little school girl (no offense to any little school girls out there).
Tzel, you would think whores would make more money at 100% happiness, but they don’t. As long as they are 80% happy, they won’t leave you while using turns and they’ll make the same amount regardless (the Johns pay the same per BJ whether the hoes enjoy it or not) … but whores can be stolen at anything less than 100%.
Saint Zero, Tek-9s are crap (along with shotguns), don’t buy them … get a mixture of AKs and pistols.
Example:
3 Tek-9s - cost $3750 - shoots 30 bullets
1 AK-47, 2 Pistols - cost $3600 - shoots 32 bullets

I keep my hos at 100% happiness and sometimes they still leave.
I’m almost wiped out. All my thugs were killed agian, now I have 12 AK-47s and 3 thugs. I set the payout to 99, but the ewhores happiness level is only 19!!! Plenty of condoms and crack and beer. 2 low riders.
I’ve got a quick question on etiquette/stragegy here. Two punk ass suckas attacked me fairly early into the game. One is now far enough below me to be spared, but I’ve been beating down the other bi-atch whenever he recovers a little. Was it anybody’s experience last time around that this tactic early on just drains resources and wastes turns or should I beat him til he’s out of range? I don’t want to stunt my own growth and hurt the SDA over a little vendetta which, at this point, is little more than bullying.

mblackwell, same thing happened to me. you need to wait till those suckas aren’t playing and spend some time regrouping. if the ratio of hoes to thugs is too high, whore happiness stays low. the more thugs you’ve got, the more hoes get happy. i solved the problem by recruiting in the ghetto and buying thugs with all my extra money, keeping the payout at around 80-90 till hoe happiness reached 100 then decreasing it gradually till all was again chill on my corner of pimpland.
Thanks for the advice. Now another one is attacking me. #3400 invaded my house 3 times, killed all my new thugs, and jacked all of my lowriders.
