Do we have any particular reason to believe he ever did practice law? LinusK wasn’t really on my radar before he became obsessed with the evils of feminism, but I don’t remember him being in the habit of showing up in threads on legal issues to make informed-sounding posts. That I don’t remember this doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, but I can easily think of other posters who don’t just claim to be lawyers but have made an impression on me as people who actually know something about the law.

If nothing else I’d expect someone who managed to get through law school to be able to comprehend the meaning of reports and articles written for the general public and form a coherent argument in support of his own views, and LinusK has demonstrated repeatedly that he can’t do either.

I don’t know him or any posters personally, but I remembered reading it somewhere a few months ago (I like to read the lawyers who post here):

I stopped watching Law and Order and all criminal law shows after I became an actual lawyer. They’re so stupidly ridiculously inaccurate, they became painful to watch.

He started a thread last year asking if he should go to grad school for economics because he wasn’t happy practicing law:

I’m sort of an introverted, intellectual type. Success in my field - financial success - depends a lot on marketing, advertising, and salesmanship. (Something they definitely don’t tell you in law school.) And some would say, just outright lying. These are things I’m not good at. And part of why I think what I’m doing is probably not a good fit for me. And why I’m looking to make a change. I can see my future walking the halls of the courthouse, and it’s not where I want to be.

The Zambia/Peru issue may be a problem at some of the other schools, other than UMKC, I mean.

He’s also answered some legal questions in a few threads. And he wasn’t always an anti-feminist, apparently:

If fathers are getting fairer outcomes in custody decrees, I’m happy to hear that. It doesn’t surprise me, if it’s true. I think things are moving in the right direction.
