I’m not sure I’m comfortable with a mod with “Weasel” part of their user name. I mean, I’m sure y’all know what you’re doing, but it seems akin to hiring a daycare worker who applied for the job with an email address “IAmPedofile@yahoo.com.”
Considering that the head honcho around here styles himself a Gormless Weinie (sic), I think any Weasel-y problems will be minimal by comparison.

I don’t know why it is: I’m generally a pretty easy going guy (and I thought the moderation was wrong: I’m generally pretty tolerant about thread content). But for some reasons, what I take to be friendly (though off topic) jokes welcoming a new moderator in an unrelated thread just spin me off: I don’t like it and I don’t want to be around it.
I’ll concede that my moderation there was too heavy handed. I received a report on that post, and used my best judgment backed up by years of no experience whatsoever. It was my first mod note and it’s taking some adjustment to the new role, to get a sense of what flies and what doesn’t in different forums. I solicited immediate feedback from veteran mods after that note, and continue to do so. It’s a lot harder than I would have guessed. Bottom line: I made a mistake. I’ll probably make more, particularly in the beginning. It’s this damned “being human” thing, keeps getting in the way of perfection.
