me! thanks!
Guess I wasn’t fast enough…
Meh - I’m over it!

What does this mean?
I thought looking up the definition of whomp would help, but it doesn’t.
From Merriam-Webster online
Any guesses?
Well, OK. . .but a support group sounds so. . . so. . . uh. . .passive.
We need something more active. How about an activist group? We’ll make it our charter to get Lunch’s attention as much as we can. But he might like that too much, so then we’d have to change our tactics covertly so as to confuse him.
Shh! Don’t tell him anything. This will be a stealth operation. It’s time for Stealth-a-Roo! You can be . . . uh. . . Stealth-a-Soap?!
“Whomp” rolls or biscuits are those that come in a tube from the refrigerated section of our grocery stores. You have to “whomp” open the container, hence the term. Actually, what you’re supposed to do is split one of the seams of the container with spoon or something, but sometimes you can just whomp the seam on the counter and the container opens to reveal stacked biscuit or roll dough.
Okay, that went on way longer than I intended and probably bored you to tears, Roo.
I guess my daughter doesn’t want me to take her to the credit union to deposit her paychecks. She told me she’s tired and she has to be at work at 2:30, so just wants to relax a bit before having to go to work. I don’t blame her. She’ll have a long day today; 2:30 to 11:00 pm.
Afternoon, everybody. Hugs all around, just because.
I slept really late because I absolutely could NOT get to sleep last night. I don’t often have insomnia, but when I do, it’s a doozie. So Papa Tigs was kind enough to let me lie abed until I was feeling human again. In the meantime, he took the Idiots over to the school ball fields to play; it was early morning play date at the school, apparently, for large dogs only – a German shepherd was the smallest dog there! But everybody had a wunnnnnderful time running around, so now the Idiots are crashed like rocks for the rest of the day. That’s two days in a row they’ve gone to the school. Yesterday Rusty was racing another golden to the balls being thrown by that dog’s human with a lacrosse stick, and the two of them just flew across the field. Rusty is a vegetable most of the time, but he can also run fast and actually looks graceful if he gets going fast enough. Unlike the other 99.9999% of the time, when he just looks happy and dumb. Heavy on the dumb.
Anyway, back to the salt mines. I’m just as glad I’m not doing anything except work this weekend; I have zero energy and even less motivation to do anything except sit here. Which works out perfectly, fortunately.
It’s hotter 'n blazes out there. Blech–going to the movies soon. I cleaned the kitchen whilst listening to a bizarre This American Life story about two women who were switched at birth, grew up in the same small town etc. The town mostly knew about it, as did one mother, but the other mother (and the girls) were clueless. All was revealed when they were adults and the show dealt with the fallout. I must say it raised some strong feelings in me–anger for how badly the mom in the know (well, strong suspicion) told the girl she’d raised (most would call her a daughter still, no? The way this woman talks about her is weird-- a long term house guest. Not in those words, but the tone and attitude!); sadness for the women whose lives would have been so different; sympathy for the sibs who can now see, in sharp relief, just how their lives would have been different with the spotlight fixed on the major differences between the two families. It makes everyone question everything. Riveting radio, though.
[del]Mornin’[/del] Afternoon, y’all.
I got hair, all 4 of them, cut today also. Rode my bike to the barber shop even. I was a pleasant ride. Steve The Barber did the honors.
“Bob, why are you riding a bike?”
“Trying to reduce my carbon buttprint.”
I also found out the wacky beaver did test positive for rabies.
Ambulance duty tonight…
I just finished the first chapter of my thesis. Rough draft, but at least it’s on paper.
happydances
sneaks in- looks left, right.
Enters stealth mode… leaves.
Actually, off to visit folks at rehab center. They have next door rooms :). They’ll be there a couple weeks before going home.
They’re doing much better!
Glad to see your folks are doing better, Soapy.
We’ll be heading off to the Y shortly for our workout. Is it bad that I really don’t want to go because I’d much rather get stuff done around here? Probably…
Yay for Spaz!
Yay for Ivory’s parents!
OK, brace yourselves - SIL has a good touch with mudding and taping! There’s hope for the lad yet. He was enthusiastically helpful today. We’ll see how long it lasts.
Plans for tomorrow include working in the morning - more mudding and taping while **FCD ** finishes some framing. Then when SIL goes to work, my sweetie and I are taking the afternoon off. I’m taking him to lunch, then, who knows - a movie? The mall? Whatever we do, it won’t involve construction.
But for now, I’m in the chill mode. Except for a load of underwear, I’m not doing anything else tonight. Chill mode.
That’s good! Too bad you have to beat him with a clue-by-four to get it done.
I’ve been such a slug today, except for laundry. And taking the mutts to the park. Sometimes I just feel like doing nothing - and I don’t!
Gotta go get supper together, now. I’ll get up in just a sec…
As I said, I liked him, putting anything else aside. Perhaps enough applications of the clue-by-four will do the trick. It sounds like the first one has helped!
snerk One of my Google ads is for “Garibaldi Biscuits.” And I just started rewatching B5. geeky giggling
I have ads for MMP!!
“Tyent Rettin MMP-5050”–“Beats Jumpiter and Enagic and LIfe. Higher ORP and PH - See tests www.tyentusa.com”
“Human MMP Array”–“Multiplexed Sandwich ELISA Format Sensitive, Quantitative, Reliable www.piercenet.com”
“MMP Assay Services”–“Bead-based multiplex assays for MMP molecules and other proteins. www.assaygate.com”
Went up to the Mall of America and Twins Pro Shop today. Ate at Don Pablos for lunch and it didn’t agree with me. Hubby went to the Lego store and I went to Archivers. I wanted to hit up Borders, but wasn’t able to. Also went to IKEA and then picked up a couple tickets for the Twins game on August 3. We had free coupons so we only paid $1 processing fee for each ticket. That works for me!
We worked out at the Y, then went to the car dealership.
My childhood friend’s husband is a sales manager there. We talked to him and then we test drove a 2005 BMW 525. It definitely has some oompf and just feels “tight”. We liked it. I saw a couple of 530s there, but they are definitely more money and have a bigger engine, which means bad gas mileage.
Then we looked at another 525, same year, but with a few more miles on it and cheaper. Tomorrow we’re taking our truck down there to haggle trade in value. I know, I know, it’d be better to sell it ourselves, but I just don’t want the aggravation and the hassle.
We’re still not going to get super gas mileage, but the one we’re interested in buying is averaging 23 or 24 miles a gallon. Considering the truck gets about 10 mpg (it has a V10) and the Expedition gets about 18 hwy mileage, this is still a gas savings for us.
I saw a brand spanking new BMW that’s based on a formula 1 or Mach 1 race car or something. That thing was beautiful and had over 400 hp. The sticker price was nearly $66,000. It had ALL the bells and whistles too. In addition to all the regular tax and license fees that would have to be paid, the sticker noted there was a “gas guzzler” tax. That’s a new one on me. I’m not surprised, but I am amused.
FCM, I’m glad the whap upside SiL’s head with the clue by four produced some results. I hope he keeps it up.
I should do some work around here. I’ve been gone since noon or so.
Home, tired, beer. Maybe I’ll hang out with the Night Shift for a while. :sits down by Jell-O[sup]TM[/sup] filled wading pool:
Taters, sound like a nifty car.
FCM, glad SIL snapped out of it for a bit. Maybe you should record your naggings for your daughter, so she can keep him motivated when they move out.
Soapy, glad the parents are doing better.
Yay for Spaz’s thesis!
Swampy, there were no lines at the 24 hour Wally*World that closes at midnight. This might be a sign of The End Times.
:fans rosie:
Hi! I think we;re back!!!
Whew! I was jonesin’ for my MMP!
We are the owners of a BMW 525i. We took the truck to talk trade in value and price of the car, and drove away with the BMW. I’m still kind of shocked really.
I am not driving it today, of course. Hubby is…
Sigh, it was his turn for a new car. Next time is my turn. I’ll get to drive it work when he’s not working.
We spent all day yesterday driving here and there in the car. It’s most definitely fun to drive and handles like a dream.
I hope all of you had a good weekend.
I guess I should do actual work now. Not that I want to…
Just today, tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday to get through and then I am on VACATION!!! Woot!!!
