Popping Your Cherry with the MMP

and your point is …?

I have friends like that, too. I just spent 90 minutes on the phone with one of those the other day. But this gal isn’t one of them. When our diverging interests took us in opposite directions in junior high, that was pretty much it, except for the friendly head nod when passing in the halls.
The recent contact was initiated because she wanted to tell me about the loss of her mother, and while I did offer my condolences, I remember her mom being very gruff with me - she didn’t like me very much, I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I was too much of a good influence on her little hoodlum.

Hopefully it will blow over without her hanging on.
People always talk about getting together, catching up on old times, and usually nothing ever comes of it.

Otherwise as Swampy says, meet her somewhere and make your excuses to leave early if you can’t take it.

This snow is laying fast.

**sari **- according to the channel 7 weather folks, the storm is moving really fast, so you shouldn’t have to deal with it too long. The worrisome one is Sun/Mon timeframe.

**rosie **- I saw her posts on your FB - holy crap on a cracker!!!

Cookies are good. I’m making chicken helper fried rice for supper - I seem to recall it was pretty good the last time I made it. We shall see.

Speaking of getting together, in a couple of weeks, I’m (fingers crossed) meeting up with my last boss before retiring and two former coworkers for a sorta happy hour in Dahlgren. Looking forward to it - I really liked that boss as well as the coworkers.

Stoopid Bay Area commuters! <snip> Took me all day to find my car, which was NOT where the nice Highway Patrol officer said it would be Tomorrow it will get towed to the auto body shop and I’ll finally, maybe, find out what’s wrong. All I know is I couldn’t get it started yesterday when I wanted to move off the highway. I tried several times.

Well, that sucks! At least you’re just sore and a bit banged up. Sheet metal and plastic is easier and cheaper to fix than bones and spleens.

The crash almost certainly tripped a safety fuel cutoff - the trick is in knowing where and how to reset it. As it’s the sort of thing that probably gets used only once in the life of one out of fifty cars, it doesn’t need to be very easy to find.

Looks like I’m not going to be interviewed tomorrow after all. Which suits me fine. I don’t know that I want to work there. So yay!

Howdy from da cave! I came home, made dindin, chikin alfredo with sauce from a jar (don’t judge!), bag sallit (again, don’t judge!), and some toasted up crusty bread I stopped at the sto’ and bought (as opposed to shoplifted). Easy and tasty the way I like my dindin and my men. OYKW et and left to go back to his irkplace for a bit to tidy up some files. He has an audit next week, poor thing.

rosie you can always just reply to fb messages from her a couple times a week until she takes the hint.

Decided to skip class (Accounting 301) tonight due to illness. I’m not worried about the material being covered tonight (I think we’re still into stuff that’s review for people who took 101), and still feel cruddy. Emailed the professor to let him know (he does tend to not like unexcused absences, hopefully advance notice that I’m not well enough to be there would count as excused).

Nettie if the prof does not like the fact that you didn’t go to class tonight, then go to his orifice tomorrow and sneeze on him. That’ll learn him!

MOOOOOOM since you don’t have an interview tomorrow, you could spend the day makin’ chawklit chip cookies and mailin’ 'em to Mumpers! All in favor, chime in!

I have been informed I have ush duty Sunday. Ok, I said I would bein’ as I know there will be a lot of people at the church house and at least four ushers will be needed. Also, I have to make a batch of cheese thangs for a reception Sunday evening after Evensong. Plus I said I’d hand around after deheathenization Sunday mornin’ to set up for the reception. Plus also, I shall make cookies for a certain spoiled brat. I’ll need irk on Moanday to rest up from Sunday. Although, cheese thangs and cookies shall happen on Sattidy.

**swampy **- I won’t be baking tomorrow -I’ve got a fridge to clean. But anyone who stops by can have a cookie.

Time to recline! MWAH!

Make mine with Splenda please.

Ouch, sunny! I’m glad you’re mostly OK.

rosie, I have a couple of high school classmates like that. I don’t give them contact info beyond FB though. A couple of them are just looking for a place to crash for free in a tourist destination.

I had a busy irkday today with a company Superbowl celebration squeezed in. We were encouraged to wear our favorite team’s jerseys, although a couple of folks rebelled and wore a jersey from Nashville’s team with a winning season.

(Go Preds! )

:). Considering that he’s elderly and has some chronic health stuff of his own, I wouldn’t want to be that mean to him. I do like him, after all.

swampy, would these cheese thangs be straw-like in nature? I need to know if I need to make a quick trip south to procure some from your kitchen in the dead of night. After I make a quick trip north to swipe some cookies from Moooom.

One thing I miss about having a working oven: I useta could make cookies.

Worked, came home. Today is my Friday. Hockey tomorrow.

Remember the most important phrase to know: “Mon aéroglisseur est plein des anguilles!”*

But it was true.

Spaz, I have a working oven, you could come and make me cookies.

Moooommmmm!, congrats on not getting hired!

rosie, tell her you can’t meet, you’re a carrier for Ebola. I’m sure Ruble could hook you up with the right accoutrements.
*“My hovercraft is full of eels!”

More snow/sleet/freezing rain/frogs/locusts/rivers of blood.

I wish it would make up its mind already.

Happily the snow did not last long but it sure came down hard and was accumulating.

Now I have to figure out why my toilet won’t flush.

I don’t know but I’ll wager that the two problems are unrelated.

OK – in what way isn’t it flushing? It could be something as simple as the chain coming off the flush handle or as serious as a water line break somewhere.

This is what happened.

Two nights ago or so I heard Sah-son upstairs and when he flushed it made some weird noises going through the pipes.

A little later he ran water in the kitchen sink and after the water went down we heard some gurgles.

When I next went into the powder room, sort of under and to the side of the upstairs bathroom and next to the kitchen, there was water splashed up on the underside of the lid and hardly any water in the bowl.

I don’t know if this is all related or not.

When I flushed the toilet the water just rose up in the bowl. Let it sit a while and the water goes down. I’ve tried plunging it a few times but there really shouldn’t be anything to plunge. Up until that point there was never a problem.
Now sometimes it will flush and sometimes it won’t, the bowl fills up with water and eventually goes down. Plunging doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Everything else in the house is draining fine.

The powder room is pretty cold, it sticks out further than rest of the house but is even with the shared wall with the neighbor. I don’t know if the cold has anything to do with it. It’s not like there is ice in the tank.

Sah, that toilet is still plugged. Try using a closet snake, not a reptile, to auger out the clog. it is like a manual plumber’s snake, but has a bend in it to help get around the trap in a toilet bowl. The successful result is disgusting, but it has worked every time I used one on something the plunger couldn’t clear.
