Business has been slow so she’s taken up dealing coke on the side (even though she didn’t like doing such). When one of Sah-son’s friends came over & knocked on the door, he was being a smart-arse when he yelled, “Police, open up!”
Thinking it really was a bust, she flushed the “snow” down the toilet to get rid of any evidence where it has now clogged the loo.
Ditto. And if you don’t have one manual snakes are fairly cheap and handy to have around.
Note that she said “happily the snow didn’t last long” which clearly means it was all snorted long before the pseudo-police arrives. Sorry ------- no cigars your way.
I specifically stated, “she didn’t like doing such”. She was happy to be out of that business when she flushed the “snow”.
Besides, I implied she’s a business woman; you were the one who brought up “it was all snorted long before the pseudo-police arrives”. How dare you disparage our dear, sweet Sari like that.
I neglected to check the pellet supply before going to bed and the stove burned itself out overnight. Not a huge deal, since it didn’t get stupid cold outside. I’ll give it a good cleaning this morning and fire it up again. **FCD **bought me a metal-bristled brush to scrape the accumulating ash from the interior surfaces. I suspect the coating of ash may be insulating portions of the heat exchanger, and that’s not good. With luck, after cleaning, it’ll pump more hot into the house. And there you have my morning plans.
I need to take Higgs for a pedicure. There’s a place in Leonardtown where we get her nails trimmed and filed/sanded smooth for a whopping $15. And I need to load and run the dishwasher. Full day ahead!
But for now, I’ll surf a bit and read my morning readings. Can’t start the day without Dear Abby! Plus it’s pension payday, so I’ll have a fresh $12.47 deposited in my account this morning! WOOHOO!!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 57 for the day and sunny. So, pretty much the temp now is the temp for the day cause that big ol’ four degrees will not make much difference. Looks like rain is predicted to start sometime Sunday and maybe for a couple of days.
sari I third the snake thing. A handy dandy tool to have on hand.
MOOOOOOM takin’ Higgs for a pedicure sounds like a nice gir’s out mornin’.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. I’m bein’ a bit of a bear of leisure this mornin’ cause I need to stop by one of the local places to take care of an issue. 'Tis on the way from da cave to the orifice so I set an appointment for eight-thirty this a. of m. Of course, at some point, purtification for irk must commence.
No overnight letter, so no interview. I think I’m mostly relieved. I’d love to have another drafting job, but this one sounded too much like a pain in the patoot. I still check listings from time to time, but I’m not desperate. And I’m still making tens of dollars a year selling my crafts!
It’s cold out there today, we did not get the expected overnight snowfall but the roofer has already cancelled for tomorrow based on the weather. Of course, I might just text him later and see if he’s changed his mind since we are not buried under 26mm of the white stuff…but I am not expecting much joy from that.
Earlier this week, the extended forecast promised 3-5" of snow this weekend. Now they’re just talking rain, which pleases me greatly. However, it is very windy today ahead of plummeting temps, so winter still sucks.
I guess I should get to work on that pellet stove before it gets colder. Don’t need to be playing catch-up with our indoor temps!
It’s a whopping 2 degrees above freezing this am so what little snow is left on the sidewalk will melt today.
I have to go out today or tomorrow as the son is almost out of food.
We don’t eat the same things because he is such a picky eater. If he would eat what I eat we’d be good to go a least another week.
Thank y’all for the plumbing help. I thought it might be something major because of the noise from the upstairs pipes and the kitchen pipes.
I got a little more aggressive with the plunger and all seems to be working now.
I am going to buy a snake though, every house should have one.
I must be getting old and L7 because Ruble’s remark went whooshing right over my head. lol Thank you Spidey for clearing that up!
I wish I cold find somebody to do Sah-dog’s nails for a reasonable price. He is hard to do, won’t let me do it and even though I can hold him nobody else will cut them because they are afraid of getting bitten. I would trim them but I don’t trust anybody else to hold him.
Wow - who’d’a thunk I’d be so productive in such a short time?!?
The stove is clean and fired up again. The dishes are washing. The cookie sheets I washed by hand are put away in a newly-cleaned oven drawer (it was kinda dusty after 10 years.) I even cleaned the floor that was exposed when I removed the oven drawer! Go me! Oh yeah, and the cat box is done. 45 minutes.
I get his nails done when I take him to the vet but he needs them done more often than that. I don’t know what they would charge though, it’s $10 when it’s part of the visit. If the trimming is the visit it’s probably more.
doggio what would a “Greek style” sloppy joe be? I don’t much care for Greek food except baklava, and I think sloppy joes are straight out of hell’s lunch room, so I’ll probably be oogied, but still, I am intrigued.
'Tis quiet on the irk front. Today is payday and any payday whines and moans would have already happened. I may declare this to be an irk from da cave afternoon just because I can.
I just make the meat filling for pastitsio(Greek style lasagna) and stuff it into pitas with feta cheese. It’s got tomatoes, onion, garlic, red wine, cinnamon, and beef and or lamb. It’s good.
Just got an email from dollar general that their digiorno pizzas are on sale and since somebody around here loves pizza I think we will go there today and stock up.
