Project Runway All-Stars Season 3

Cocktail dresses based on cocktails.

The top was Victor, Christopher, and Elena. The bottom was Kato, Melissa, and Jeffrey.

They made comments about Jeffrey’s dress like that it was a suicide and evidence that he just didn’t want to be on the show. So it was a big surprise when Melissa was sent home instead Jeffrey, I don’t understand it at all.

I’m not sure either. Maybe because she has been in the bottom every time and her stuff is boring. At least his pieces of garbage are interesting?

I had to laugh when he said how someone else’s piece was just like one in a 2011 collection – “look it up!” Yeah, we know you have an encyclopedic memory of other work, since you blatantly copied one from 2008 last week.

I think Christopher’s dress should have won; it was beautiful and the perfect color for his model. Nate Berkus was a great judge, wish we could jettison Issac and keep Nate.

Korto talks a good game, and I remember liking her on her season but so far I’m not impressed. Maybe she just doesn’t hold up under such stronger competition.

Sigh. I wish TLo was doing this season, I miss them.

He does. He clearly doesn’t want to be there – wonder why he agreed to compete?

Some further thoughts – Melissa, though I like her, deserved to go home. We’ve seen that dress before from her (albeit not in suede), and Isaac was right, it’s definitely today, not tomorrow. But Jeffrey should go home next.

Elena may be totally effin’ crazy, but she does amazing work. That dress was a wow.

And so was Christopher’s. People can snark all they want, “just a slip dress” – but it was perfectly done. And I disagree with Isaac – I liked the treatment of the back.

I hate episodes that end like this. Fingers are crossed for double elimination next week!

(Also was it just me or did the Mary Kay At Play logo look like an old AOL logo?)

Second week in a row Jeffrey instantly gets defensive at criticism. I saw his season but my memory is crap. Was he as defensive then too?

Irina was robbed. Her dress was adorable.

Loved Irina’s. Hated Jeffrey’s. Jeffrey has been terrible several weeks in a row, what do they mean by 'no one deserved to go home"???

It struck me last night that Seth Aaron’s face looks like a burn victim’s–something just looks way off.

Seriously, they didn’t think Jeffrey’s dress was worth eliminating him?

Severe acne scarring I think, and the bizarre stenciled eyebrows aren’t helpful. . .

Every time I saw Seth I kept thinking he looked like a Baldwin brother.

Granted, all three were horrible, but I would say if you have a guy who has been in the bottom three consistently, and sends a half-naked model down the runway, the choice is clear.

I love Isaac: “Those other two, I can’t unsee them, you know?”

I’m just happy Elena didn’t win with the same dress she’s been making every time.

Interesting challenge, but I wasn’t that impressed by most of the outfits. I didn’t like the one that won, but I have to admit that the one that lost looked more like a waiter in the 80s than a 30s gangster.

Mychael (or however he spells it) definitely deserved to go home. I was also surprised by how effin’ ugly Victor’s jacket was.

And I thought Irina should have won – by about a million miles.

Irina again, robbed. I hated her in her season but this time she’s just churning out beautiful work and being ignored.

Michael was the right choice to go home. I got more HG Wells than 80s from his jacket but either way not 30s. Didn’t understand the hate for Seth Aaron’s purple outfit.

I think it’s a sign of how strong the designers are that he was bottom three. I don’t think he was actually in any danger of going home.

I often wish that instead of following the format: top 3 and bottom 3, that the judges could be more flexible, top 2 if the rest of the offerings were between mediocre and disastrous, or bottom 4 or 5 if a lot of them really messed up.

I hate it when they throw a perfectly good design into the bottom “just because”. Also it would save them from having to invent stupid praise for an unworthy design.

It would definitely put the “judges smoking crack” meme to rest.

I’m still watching, I like the all stars however has anyone watched Styled to Rock? It seems more realistic with their “pulls” where they choose the top designs (still in progress) to show the rock star client, then everyone else is up for elimination.

PR is back on tonite?

I refused to watch the first few episodes, caved and watched a few, now I see that tonight there are THREE guest judges (along with the usual panel of idiots except I like Isaak), including “we’ll do a season of Project Runway All-Stars becuz you wuz robbed” Anthony Ryan Auld. I’ve finally realized this show has nothing to do with fashion and is all producer rigged. I did order Season 4 as a present to myself so I can watch Chris March in all his outrageous glory.
