Yes, with some sort of Marge Simpson tie-in.

WTF was that on Anthony Ryan’s head???
A mohawk made of tape?
What a fun challenge! Design a dress for Marge Simpson to wear on a dinner date with Homer. And the winning dress will be animated and featured on the Simpsons.

I hope it was gaffers tape. I’d really hate to think someone had a stripe like that tattooed on their skull.
Speaking of unfortunate tattoos, I’m not at all disappointed that Jeffrey got the boot.
I’m reminded of Groucho’s mustache early in his career – drawn on with greasepaint. D’ya think it was some kind of homage?
A true relief to see Jeffrey go home – he’s gone back and forth between fugly and … well, no, I was going to say “uninspired,” but it’s actually just fugly … all season. And I’m including his winning men’s coat last week.
Glad Irina finally won – it’s about damn time.
And I’m glad they showed Marge in the winning dress.
Whatever it was, it made him look like a Lego figure waiting for a snap on hat.
Totally agree re:Jeffrey. Even the winning coat sucked almost as much as his ugly neck tattoo.
I’m so glad Jeffrey finally went home. Am I alone in thinking that poor dress looked like sparkly lady parts? The color choices really made it look to me as if the model was poking out of…well…a giant vagina.
Yeah, the paler lapels were very labial. Let’s not even discuss the implications of the pearls.
As for the winning look, Marge looked so sweet. I don’t know if the fluffy hemline is really her aesthetic, but then I haven’t watched the Simpsons regularly for about 7 years. When I think “fashion” for Marge I still remember that beautiful suit she remade over and over again.
Irina’s dress was very bridal, but I think it was terrible when she made the dress very flimsy, and then blamed the model when it tore. “She ripped it!” Yeah, but it ripped a lot in the dressing room, and if your model can’t walk up a few stairs without the seam tearing, it’s not the model’s fault!
Yeah, whining “she ripped it” was uncharacteristically petty for Irina.
I did not get the love for Korto’s dress. Last week Seth Aaron threw together a piece of fabric and it was called sad; she does the same and adds a tacky belt and it’s a winner. That stupid twisted fabric strap with a fuller other strap has been done to death – Zanna said it was all stuff she had seen before and to amp it up and Korto’s did not do that. And taupe?! It has the potential to be classy but not that one.
I’m glad Lisa liked it since she has to wear it, but ugh.
I hate to be cynical about such a serious thing, but Victor’s tearful reveal to Seth Aaron and Elena about being HIV positive just screamed “Let’s create a special TV moment!”
Yeah, and then they have Mondo on as guest judge.
All of the sudden he can’t be his true self until he tells them his status? But he was fine with it last week?
A friend and I wondered if it was going to end up being a set-up to A Very Special Moment with Mondo on the runway or something. That whole scene of talking to his BFFs felt very contrived.
And normally I like Korto and I love her bright colors, but I thought this week’s dress was tacky and had no sophistication. It was thrown together at the last moment and it looked it. I thought Christopher should have won.
I was rooting for Irina – of the previous winners, she was the most deserving of a second win – but that dress was a) too bridal and b) falling apart – both of which were totally her fault.
Didn’t think Korta’s deserved the win – very ordinary.
So was it just coincidence that Mondo was guest judge the week Victor decided to declare his HIV status, in the most nakedly manipulative bit of reality show byplay I’ve seen in years?
I was surprised that Korto won and Irina was out because I figured the exact opposite.
I admit to liking Korto’s colors this week (taupe and orange) but that dress looked thrown together, a la Seth Aaron last week.
I don’t remember hearing that the dress was also due to be sold on QVC. I only heard: major dramatic Red Carpet that the wearer can move around in. So although Korto’s was nearly the only one who was “comfortably wearable”, I thought she’d get dinged for being too casual. It looked like something from a resort collection.
So was selling on QVC an afterthought?
Irina’s dress, ultra bridal true but I thought they’d give her a pass even though it was shredding. (A split seam didn’t give Anya the boot) It was very ambitious and very dramatic. If she’d made it in any other color, she would’ve stayed. At that point I was worried for Elena because her’s was “dowdy shape” and that’s the real faux pas.
Victor’s was a great color (yes, green, you silly mentor) but an overworked mess otherwise. Seth Aaron, taste issues with the gaping split in the front. Christopher, bored with your shredding technique.
Agree the Victor confessional was just awkward and badly edited. Have we seen a genuine one since Mondo? I can’t think of one that hasn’t made me cringe, including Braden’s marriage proposal last year and I really liked him.
The QVC version is marginally better (notethat they were careful to say they’d be selling something “inspired by” the winning design, not reproducing it). I like the navy version better.
Victor’s bit was appalling. I’m sure at some point there was an honest conversation to be had, but this felt like the producers had pushed him to do it at that time and in that way. It was awkward, forced and embarrassing. I had to fast forward out of it.
When Mondo revealed his HIV status on the show, it made sense and felt like it happened organically, with him creating the plus sign fabric design and explaining what it meant to him.
Victor doing the same was blatant audience manipulation and seemed forced. There was absolutely no reason for him to suddenly be all tearful and act like he was hiding this gigantic secret that he simply had to reveal right now, when for the past however many weeks he has made absolutely no reference to it, and nothing in this challenge related to it at all.
I am so sick of Victor and his stupid fan.
(Braden’s marriage proposal last year also seemed manipulative as well and I was glad when the English guy called him out on it at the reunion show.)
I didn’t get the love for Korto’s dress either. It looked very plain and cheap to me, and was *certainly *not a red carpet look! Seth Aaron or Christopher should have won. Seth Aaron’s looked amazing in the photographs. Glad to see the last of Irina. That dress was butt ugly and looked horribly uncomfortable. I hated *hated *those stupid tacked on flowers.
