Puzzling Sit-Com questions from my youth

Aunt Harriet[Madge Blake] was also the next-door neighbor on “The Real McCoys”. Whose aunt was AH originally, Bruce or Dick’s?

My theory about Batgirl/Barbara Gordon is that Police Commissioner Gordon was an incredibly corrupt cop while working his way up the promotion ladder. He may have socked away lots of kickback and hush money along the way. Wasn’t Barbara an only child? If so then he might have been an overindulgent father who gave her a huge allowance out of love even into adulthood and to assuage his own guilty feelings for spending so much time away from her in the course of his work. Being so busy with his job and calling Batman at the drop of a hat, of course he wouldn’t notice that his beloved daughter was using his tainted money to ironically finance her crimefighting ways to make up for all the crooked things her father did without actually being able to expose dear old dad for the dirty cop he was.

Well, because networks like hot chicks to be on TV shows.

The actual story for “KofQ” though is that he wasn’t always a big fat slob. They were high school sweethearts, he was a football star, she was the hot chick that dated football stars, they got married out of high school and then Doug started to gradually let himself go.

They had an episode when Doug was trying to lose weight and Carrie kept looking at his old high school picture and day dreaming about Doug being back in shape.

Anyway, I think that’s the story.

Has there every been a hotter and sexier 11 year old then Tabita Stevens? And so mature too, I mean she’s out and living on her own and keeping all her wacky relatives in line.

Hmm, there’s another Darrin coming along.

Lorne Greene, George Stanford Brown, Robert Goulet, William Shatner, Florence Henderson & William Conrad.

Wow. “John Belushi was originally the special guest star to die in the opening credits, however, he died shortly after filming the segment and it never aired.” from TV Tome. Now there’s something for a future DVD.
Didn’t they Gilligan’s island gang find a trunk full of acting clothes washed up on the beach in one of the first episodes? wow!

No, he worked for the ship company and later married the owner’s daughter. When he was trekking out West, he lost valuable time as his wife gave birth and with the Indian attack that killed her. They were suppose to meet up with another group of trekkers, but didn’t and ended up losing money. I don’t think they ever explained exactly where Ben got the money to buy the ranch.

The episode when Lecy came back and they did that post-credits, weird, little musical ditty “Becky! Sweet, adorable Becky!” with both Sarah and Lecy nearly made my ex die laughing.

IIRC, Sarah played Becky a few times after that too because when they won a trip to Disneyworld, Roseanne turned to Becky and said something along the lines of “Oo! Hey, you must be glad you’re the one in this episode!”

Lurch WAS Thing.

If I recall correctly, there was one episode where she was in court testifying against a killer that she had caught, and the defense attorney attempts to discredit her testimony by listing the people that have died around her. Very funny…

The Roseanne parody of Gilligan’s Island was the best … Darlene as Mary Anne: “I’m just a poor dumb country girl with this incredible rack!” … Leon as Mr. Howell, inviting Dan (as the Skipper) to take a moonlit walk on the beach and meet his “Little Buddy” … Mark as the Professer (‘nuff said!) … and then the tag end of the show, where the surviving members of the GI cast gathered in the Connors’ kitchen playing their corresponding Roseanne parts. Brilliant!

Also…On a Holloween episode of Roseanne, she dressed as a dead Ginger … who never got off the island.

The two Darrins at least bore some resemblance to one another. on the other hand, Lecy Goransen (Becky I) was less than attractive (to be charitable), whereas Sara Chalke (Becky II) was a BABE.

FINALLY. Somebody solved my little puzzle. Good catch, Topaz.

Age Trivia:

Ester Rolle was 19 years older than John Amos on Good Times. Jimmie Walker who played the son J.J. is only 8 years younger than Amos. So, if we were talking real time here, JJ was born when Florida was 27 and James was 8.

Whitman Mayo who played Grady was only 43 when he started Sanford and Son. Redd Foxx was only 50 himself.

On the Golden Girls, Estelle Getty is two monthes younger than Bea Arthur who played her daughter. She is also 8 monthes younger than Betty White. Rue McClanahan is the youngest of this cast.

Too bad Mama Patrillo and Crazy Grady couldn’t hook up.
