Rain, rain go away from the MMP

Apart fro taking Gordie on a couple of log walks, and doing laundry, it’s been a lazy day. There’s been one big fast storm that came through at 4:30, and it’s starting to rain again.

Cool!

Moooommmmm!, I expected a more disapproving tone of voice from you. You know, THE LIST voice. :wink:

{{{{swampy}}}} nad prayers for Ron and family. :frowning:

Blurf.

After a sleepless night last night, I started my new job today. The whole day was spent on paperirk of the sort that usually happens at the start of a new job. Lots and lots of paperirk, explanations of what that paperirk means and other assorted information, most of which I already knew.

Paperirk at irk became paperirk at home. I’m a scout volunteer and I have to get state clearances to show that I’m not a dangerous degenerate, and fill out and sign two different disclosures where I pinky-swear that I’m not a dangerous degenerate. THEN, I have to scan these documents and send them both to the diocese and the scoutmaster. THEN, I have to watch a video to generate a certificate to tell the diocese that I watched the video. Then I wait for the magical badge that allows me free access to both the sprog’s school and his scout troop because I’m not a dangerous degenerate. Thank you, Jerry Sandusky and the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown for ruining it for the rest of us. So naturally, my scanner’s not working and I have to find a scanner that I can use so I can scan all this stuff to get it to the right people.

Dinner tonight was homemade pizza made with whole-grain naan and fat-free mozzarella cheese and topped with 'shrooms. It was nummy. Tomorrow’s feast will be beef kebabs marinated in a soy sauce-wasabi marinade, served along with a rice pilaf. The sprog is contributing to the cooking duties. Next step: washing dishes!

I can’t see straight anymore, so it’s time to go to bed.

We shall retire to the boudoir for the evenin’. Not much to do but wait until we here. Might as well do that in a horizontal position.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Either of those would have been good. Asparagus was $4.99/lb and disn’t seem to be worth it. we had steamed broccoli and carrots instead. But it was enjoyable.

I think I should make some. Brownies. If there are any left in the morning you all should come over for hot beverages and brownies.

{{{Swampy}}}

If one of the cousins can score for us we can always meet at Knoebels — its open now!!!

Prayers ascend for you all Swampy.

Then what are you doing in the MMP?? :confused:
:smiley:

The horrible-est storms missed us, but I did see a little distant lightning and hear a few rumbles of thunder. There is some steady rain right now, but it’s moving out, and the rest of the week is mostly gloomy with occasional more rain.

I don’t know why I keep having dreams about the software I use at work. The job doesn’t stress me, especially knowing I can quit any time I want. The people are nice enough and no one has pissed me off yet. I even get a great parking space every day. So why do I keep dreaming about Creo??? Too weird.

**doggio - I had no reason to use my Mom-voice. Had I done that, Ziva would have bolted and that would have been that. :stuck_out_tongue:

{{{JDD & bro & family}}}

My youngest sib turns 51 on Saturday and I realize that we’re not kids any more. I’ve lost one of my older cousins already, and the oldest of them is about 75, so, well, you know… Mortality ain’t for the weak.

Anyway, Happy Tuesday, such as it is.

It was a public holiday for us yesterday so I completely missed the fact that it was Moanday and metalmouse’s first day of slothdom. I didn’t watch the Spurs/Chelsea game and it’s been largely glossed over in the news today because they’re far more interested in the fact that the whole of Leicester’s been partying all night.

(((((Swampy, Ron, JDD and family)))))

Other than that, I’m still having my morning blurf and may follow that with a lemon and whilte chocolate muffin.

Woke up at 0500 today. This retirement thingy may take some getting used to.

Sunny as all get go on the Castillian Mesa and I sure won’t mind if it holds. Can’t let the light fool you though: on Sunday I was thinking “gee, I’m kind of cold” and when I raised the blinds I saw that the thermometer across the street was displaying 4ºC. OK, yeah, that qualifies as “kind of cold”. Yesterday at the same time it was a mighty 6ºC.

We’re having a 4-day workweek as yesterday was a national holiday (moved over from May 1); next week is also 4 days because Friday will be a local holiday. 3 days for me as I’m taking Wednesday off and will go see the family: the 12th is Ed’s birthday.

{{{{{Swampy, DH…}}}}}

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeineatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 83 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. We shall see. So far the weather PTB have been wrong about all the storms we are allegedly supposed to get.

No word yet so I assume Ron made it through the night. Part of me wants to call and see. However, the more sensible part of me (yes, one exists!) says that would not be good. So, I won’t.

I am bein’ a bit of a slacker this mornin’ because I have some irk related stuff to do at some of my local sites, most of which are between da cave and the orifice so I see no need to go to the orifice first.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

**MetalMouse **- resetting your inner clock will take a little while, but you’ll get there. Or not. But you’re retired - you can lie about all morning if you want, so there’s that. :smiley:

I’m in the office. I’m kinda stuck because the parts the boss told me I need to “install” into my model don’t seem to exist. I’ve been to the manufacturer’s website, and they don’t have any such part number. And until he gets here, I can’t do anything. So lalalalalalalalala

Blurf.

Swampster, dude, you need an extra buddy hug or 3, and once the funeralizin’ is done, a great big dose of GTHOD. With any luck, you’ll leave the Grim Reaper behind while you sun your buns on a beach somewhere…

Blurf

Up, caffeinated, and shevled. It’s raining, so no long dog walk today.

Happy Toosday!

Right now the sun is shining, but rain is in the forecast. A high of 68 is predicted for today.

Not much going on today; irk, maybe some laundry, some yard irk if it stays clear.

In other words, SSDD.

Awake.

Spidey – too late. The price was like $160 but the last one is gone. :frowning: Oh well, it was worth the call.

Son’s birthday survived. It was also wedding anniversary (24th).

I am beat like a rug. Like a camel. Like a rented mule. I don’t have anything to do until late in the afternoon, so that’s good. If I get a sudden burst of energy before then, laundry shall be put away and bills shall be paid.

Blurf.

Happy Belated Sunnyversary!!!

And a pox upon the moron at work who doesn’t understand the concept of cleaning up the microwave after making a gawd-awful mess in it. I had to wipe it down before I could heat my soup. ugh.

Still no sun here. And no winning lottery ticket. Alas…
