Rain, rain go away from the MMP

Here it is noon already and I haven’t done much of anything.

Ate some breakfast, which lasted until lunch - so a two for one deal there.

I need to clean the litter box and unload the dishwasher. Irk needs help but I have a sore throat and keep losing my voice, so I think today will be more of a get stuff done around the house day.

It’s cloudy today, they are delimbing trees, and it is NOISY. I just started wearing my hearing aides again after a two year hiatus. I had to take them out; no matter how low I turned them I hear: The truck noises, the saw noises, the sounds of the branches hitting the ground, the work people talking to each other, the traffic idling because they couldn’t figure out to go through the lane and around the delimber, and also the various looky Lous and Lucys taking a gander at this. How do you hearing people handle it? I know it gets better, but having things amplified so much is making me a little angsty. My blind roommate/sister/friend claims she can hear a “fly fart in Singapore”. The mind boggles.

What kind of finger food should I make for everyone to sit around watching hockey tonight? I was thinking of weiner wraps, veggie sticks, and other snacky type objects. Although I might just go for pogos (corn dogs) because that wouldn’t require a trip to the store. And there are stillsome brownies left. Who is coming along for hot beverage of choice and brownies?

MonaLisa, I’m no expert like doggio, but hockey requires protein/savory snacks. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m outta here at 2:00 to go to PT. I was walking a bit better this morning, but I overdid it when I walked to the other end of the building and back for a meeting. Decrepitude sucks!

If its a really good game and you have lots of alcohol they will eat damn near anything but stuff that bites back is sometimes preferred – chili and the like. At least judging by Doggio’s friends.

I really hate when my boss leaves me something to do, then goes away so I can’t ask questions - like HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THIS?!?!? So here I twiddle - lalalalalalalala - I wish I’d asked to work where **FCD **works - his office is crazy busy and I wouldn’t have to deal with this idiocy.

<headdesk>

Got a few chores done outside the house (paid bills, got my Savings Plan withdrawal notarized and mailed). Did some checking on-line regarding auto insurance (it’s high, I had one minor accident in 2013 and even with a $1,000 deductible, it’s through the roof (IMHO). Was so impressed with what I found that actually started a new thread on MPSIMS.

Now for reading and/or nap, I think.

This. Also, Cheezy Poofs!, the (Un)offical Snack of the NHLBCC.

At home again today with hubby. He is miserable and his phone is ringing off the hook with a/c calls. He isn’t able to do them right now and it’s killing him. He is napping now. We can’t wait until tomorrow’s dr appt so we can move on. Hopefully they will put him in hospital for a cardioversion to shock his heart back into normal rhythm. He has had it done before. I think I have finally convinced him that he must slow down a little and stop stressing his heart. We will see.

I really need to be working but I would not be able to concentrate worrying about him. Irk will just have to wait.

Howdy Y’all! Day two survived. YAY! The rain/tstorms/apocalypse appear to have fizzled out. Nary a drop and it’s sunny out. Go figure. Dindin shall be Hamburger Helper (don’t judge we like HH), sallit, and cheesey bread.

Ron is still holdin’ on but gettin’ weaker accordin’ to JDD. We’re not goin’ up there tonight as I’ve been told a lot of his friends have come by today or will tonight to say their goodbyes. JDD opted to go to irk today rather than be at the nursin’ home. Partner and He will, of course, go up this evenin’. Thus, the vigil continues.

OYKW is leavin’ for the wilds of west Alabammy tomorrow mornin’ to go see his mom and family for Mother’s Day. He’s supposed to return next Moanday. I am leavin’ Firday mornin’ to head to Ye Olde Home Towne for Mother’s Day. Both of us were kinda like wonderin’ if we should stick around for the inevitable but really it makes more sense for us to be with our mom’s, so we will stick to the plans.

OK, reckon I should start dindin.

Laterz!

Home. I’ve heard some booms, but I can’t tell if they’re thunder or some sort of explosives testing at one of the bases nearby. It was a wee bit sunny when I left the office, but it’s all overcast again - rain is probably on its way.

Frustrating day at the office. Glad to be home. Now, what to do for supper??

Corn dogs, veggie platter, chips, and burgers. Popcorn. I would make chili but **Horatio Nelson Muntz ** doesn’t like chili. (I guess if I made the Texas kind without beans, it would be okay. But to me, chili means beans, so no dice. Also, I do not want the beans debate, thankyouallthesame)

I’m listening to a webinar while webbing, so the webbing doesn’t count, right?

Good thoughts going to swampy, Ron and family.

Trying to clear my desk so I won’t feel guilty while visiting the grandbaby and all next week.

Looks like no rain this week. Need to finish planting the groundcover I bought before I vacate, though.

Technically up again. May get to bills, may not.

MiL has re-arranged my kitchen cabinets. Then she tells me that we need to go shopping because she can’t find anything. :smack: I thought about starting an annoying relatives thread, but the irritation has worn down a bit. Plus, cats. Cats are sitting upon me and purring. This helps mood for some reason. Cats are Terran Tribbles.

Sari how is cat? Has he come out for bribes and pets yet?

Forgot to say earlier…

HAPPY SUNNIVERSARY!!!

Dindin was adequate. It was easy and tasted good just like the way I like my men. All in all it was OK. OYKW has gone back to his place to get some stuff he wants to take with him to the wilds of west Alabammy so I am sans adult supervision for about an hour. I decided to go wild and am eatin’ snickerdoodles.

Cat is still in hiding. I took up some canned food, set it down near him and he fled to a different hiding place.
I ordered a feather toy for him, see if that gets him out of hiding.

I guess the stuff out back isn’t poison ivy, Sah-son has been trimming it by hand and it’s not hurt him. He can’t mow that part of the yard because whoever in the past buried bricks in that area and they stick up partially out of the ground.
OAOASO is supposed to come by with a weed whacker, with the emphasis on supposed to. He wants a favor from me, so I told him if he helps me I’ll help him. But I won’t help him until after he helps me - because I know his game all too well. Like I told his son, OAOASO has a real long memory when he does something for you and a real short memory when you do something for him.
Which is why the OnAgain isn’t happening and the OffAgain is pretty much permanent.

Ditto on the 'versary wishes. I’m lazy.

It’s raining again, and thundering and just plain icky. **FCD **had a turkey bacon sammich and some cole slaw. I had the last of some leftover pasta. So much for supper.

Klondike bars later.

rah.

Mother Nature watered the plants again, and dinner is cooking, and I’m ever so slowly digging out of the mess inside the house. A month of the creeping cruds resulted in my usual slovenly standard of housekeeping descending into disgracefulness.

The Boy took his last final today - all of the academic portions of his senior year are done except for one state mandated end of course test. Hooray! (And the university does a neat little thing - during finals week, at least one evening, they bring therapy dogs to the library for stressed out kids to snuggle. The Boy didn’t go, but Girl 2.0 and her friends took advantage, even though their finals aren’t until the end of the month.)

Today’s big wonderful news, though, is that our Goobernor vetoed another asinine piece of legislation. That’s twice in recent weeks, and I’m beginning to think he’s less of a moron than I’d suspected.

ETA: Hugs to buttercup and swampy, and happy Sunnyversary.

‘Tis rainin’ and there’s thunder. I wish it would last all night but alas, it’ll go away in a couple of hours. I have proper adult supervision until tomorrow mornin’. OYKW is currently packin’ stuff for his jaunt. I reminded him the rule is a pair of clean underwear for each day plus two spares in case of emergency. It’s a rule. I know it’s a rule. My own mother said to do this so it must be a rule.

My Accounts payable tech, whom I have never met but have working with her over the phone and Internet, has been diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic cancer. I am so sad. She was almost ready to retire and enjoy her life. Cancer sucks.
