Rain, rain go away from the MMP

And always respect their authority!
Work was fine but the new project is taking its toll – two people got into a fight while I was gone and are gone, 24 from my shift transferred to the 4am <shudder> shift, and 3 more of the old hands from when we started are quitting. It ain’t bad work but once you let it get to you it really grinds you down. I’m doing a double Friday since it is Friday and I can rest up afterwards. But since our local park opens and I have a season pass ------ my idea of rest and normal ideas of rest may vary.

The afternoon’s gentle soaking rain was nice. After the sun went down, though? All hell broke loose. Fireworks and booms, and power surges that continue to trip the breaker on the outside freezer. But I don’t have to water the plants tomorrow.

One of my cousins just posted something cryptic on social media - something awful and scandalous about a family member. So now I need to do some tactful prying, because I have accepted my weaknesses. (To paraphrase Alice Longworth Roosevelt: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, come sit here next to me.”)

I worked, it stormed like crazy. But the store carpet is clean for the first time in 2 years. So there’s that.

Butters, :frowning:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Long day today.

You guys think if we got set for wifi we’d be allowed to work outside? Weather is being just beautiful.

Sorry about your coworker, Butters.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, brekkied, but still need to purtify. 'Tis 65 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 79 and partly sunny (N.O.S.) for the day. I just saw OYKW off on his jaunt to the wilds of west Alabammy. Hence the already caffeinated and brekkied part of my post. I actually made for real food. Bacon, scrambled aigs, grits, and toast. That should keep him fueled at least until he gets to Monkey Town.

{{{Butters}}} such sad news about your co-irker!

Ron is still holdin’ on. The hospice nurse feels like it will still be sometime this week. He’s pretty much refusin’ to eat, but will drink a few sips of water or peach soda a few times a day. Plus he’s bein’ kept pain free.

OK that’s all I got. I suppose eventually I should purtify.

May The Fourth Be With You!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

May The Fourth Be With You!

**Butters **- that’s so sad. :frowning: It reminds me of the man who hired me for my first engineering job. He died within 2 years of retirement… in fact, he was the age I am now when he died. :frowning: Mortality sucks sometimes.

Last night, we were watching a program about Janis Joplin on PBS. I was never a fan of her music, but I never realized what a sad and lonely life she had. And she was only 27 when she OD’d.

On a less of a bummer note, um, it’s one day closer to Firday.

Happy Wednesday!

I’m awake – I think. Being productive is going to have to wait.

Well, I just got an “officially final notice from IRS” voice mail left by a computer generated voice. I deleted it. So if I don’t post again, you’ll know they threw me in the pokey. Or maybe the hoosegow.

It’s been nice knowing you!

Happy Hump Day!

Not so happy, it’s grey and dreary outside.

On a happy note, Sah-son got an A in history. So keyboarding is the only class that he hasn’t seen his grade yet. No clue either, because she doesn’t grade until the end - so no idea where he stands at all.

I didn’t realize this Sunday is Mother’s Day- you’d think I’d have caught on from Swampy’s posts, but no, I’m just off in la la land thinking I have one more week. Sherries Berries looks like a good option.

On a weird note, I got a friend request from Sah-son’s grandfather on FB yesterday. I accepted the request and then he sends me a message saying *sorry I don’t know you who is this? * So I told him who I am, but he sent me the friend request. H says he didn’t but I sure didn’t send him one. I wish Sah-son did have a relationship with them, but they are… too difficult for me to deal with. My mother gave me a bunch of shit because I got tired of dealing with them so I told her fine - you deal with them then. She didn’t last as long as I did.
For example, his aunt called him on a Sunday afternoon at 2, to invite him to his cousin’s birthday party that started at 4, and they live 2 hours away.
Another time I was supposed to meet his aunt on a Sunday afternoon to have him fitted for a tux for her wedding. I called her several times before the day to get the time we were supposed to meet. No answer, no call backs, nothing. Then a week and a half later she calls me and wants to know if we can meet her at there in a half hour. She was too damn rude to call me up and tell me she had cancelled the first appointment, then she expects me to just stop what I am doing to accommodate her?
I would love for my son to know that side of his family, but damn, I can’t put up with such inconsiderate, rude behavior.

Shameless mommy brag

Sah-son made straight A’s again.

I’m so happy for him!

Go Sah-son! Woot!

I’m caffeinated, but sheveled ain’t on the agenda for the day. Oversized t-shirt and pajama pants and ponytail seem like an excellent uniform.

Currently 76 glorious degrees, with a nice breeze and the prettiest blue skies at Chez Matata. The windows are open and I will be puttering about the estate barefoot if you need me.

Blurf!

It’s a damp, chilly day out there. It’s not really raining, but the humidity is at 69% and it’s in the low 60s temp-wise.

I go in for round # 2 of PT today. I do feel a little better after yesterday though. At this rate, I’ll be back to having fun before the summer’s out.

**sari **- yay for the boy! Before you know it, he’ll have a high-paying job and you can let him support you for a change! Because that’s what kids all want to do. Yeah. In our dreams…

Waiting for the boss to bring me something to do. He’s not very good at anticipating my pace. Oh well, surf I shall…

Sah-son is evolving beyond his father’s DNA!

First we have to get him to want to drive.

**Rosie ** He is way smarter than his father, I’m so glad the only thing he got from his father is the hair and eyebrow. And toes, he has his father’s toes.
He is also way smarter than I am.

Howdy from da cave! Yeah, I’m at da cave but for a reason. I just got back from the nursin’ home in Dawson. I got a call tellin’ me that this is it for Ron so I went to say a final goodbye. JDD, Sis, Partner and Aunt are all there now waitin’ for the inevitable. I just could not go back to the orifice, so here I sit, sippin’ on some diet Poopsie and waitin’ for the final word. Go and be at peace Ron.

sari YAY!!! for sah-son!

:frowning: Ron passed away peacefully about fifteen minutes ago. He is at peace now. Prayers, good thoughts etc for Ron and the family would be appreciated (not “appreciated”). Preliminary thoughts are a graveside service Moanday in Parrott, Jawja.
