The CPA Mrs. Plant(v.2.0) and I used didn’t include some form concerning stocks and stuff in a return. After much crap, he sent it. We continued to receive threats to have Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) daughter sold into White slavery and all our property taken. When they finally did the math, the IRS said THEY OWE US $2000.00.
That will pay for the Buick motor mount and then some.
I hope you fare as well as we did when our taxes were in error.
I do wonder how much money Mrs. Plant’s (v.2.0) CPA cost me over several years.
How lucky that Ron had loving friends and family around till the end. Hugs to all who loved him.
It’s a day for sad news - I just got an email telling me a guy I worked with pre-retirement just had a heart attack and died. He was a biker and he’d been in the Army - a tank driver, I think. I used to have a note on my white board saying “I’m a freekin’ ray of sunshine!” and he’d call me Freekin’ Ray.
I guess it’s because we’re that age - we’ll be losing more and more friends and contemporaries. In my immediate family, there are only 2 left of the generation before me - my mom and one of her brothers. Everyone else is gone. So, yeah, we’re next.
So, to quote the old man in Moonstruck: Somebody tell a joke!
Thanks all. His funeral will be graveside Moanday at 11:00 a.m. I called OYKW to tell him and he says he’s comin’ on back Sunday late afternoon so he can be here. I had a feelin’ he would do that which is OK. As I said earlier, Ron is at peace now and I’m so happy.
I had chicken strips and fries for dinner. I have to use up the chicken strips because I bought more groceries than we could fit in the freezer. I wish I had a smaller fridge and a bigger freezer. Or I could just buy a small freezer. Or stop shopping when I’m hungry.
I ran to WaWa and got us a couple of chef’s salads for supper. For $5 each, we had a light but satisfying meal. Yum!
In happier news, today is my sister’s 25th wedding anniversary and a cousin’s 48th anniversary!
Weather is still dreary and I had to turn the heat on - it was down to 65° in the house, and with the damp, it was just unpleasant. I’m thinking of firing up the stove again… in MAY fercryinoutloud!!!
You and butters are not doing anything for my morale here, FCM…
Swampy, my condolences, but he apparently went peacefully and with the people who loved him in attendance. Lots worse ways to go. Just remember to bundle up his coffin, cause its’ cold way down there…
Some shopping, some cleaning, tried to get a new ID from the Ali-bama gubment, only to be told it is not a new ID, it goes on my driver’s license and since my DL expires next year, it would be better to do it all at once rather than get the ID now and then have to get it again when I renew my license. Would have been nice if they had explained that on the paperwork…
Cooler, but we had a big rainshower pass through about 4:30pm, but it’s gone and quiet now.
Today Mrs. Plant drove by Mama Plant’s church, and I related trying to explain to a Methodist minister that for Jews death is a horrible thing, and that I didn’t want the usual Protestant jokes at her funeral.
The son of a bitch called me “an unbeliever” and told jokes about me at my Mother’s funeral.
Howdy Y’all! Home from the Ascension Eve service over to the church house. We had a nice crowd, not huge, but for a mid-week service not too shabby. Lots of nice things were said to me about Ron. One lady was just short of organizin’ some kind of brigade of food or some such. I suggested she call JDD (he’s a member) and ask him if he needs anything. Anywho, the service was great and I needed that tonight.
MetalMouse HEE! Cracked me up! “Is that poop?” is my favorite line.
Rio puppies! Squee! How could puppies not cheer anybody up!
ETA: flytrap that minister is uncouth and uncool.
Well, the scandalous thing about my cousin was just his usual crap, so I don’t have any good gossip to cheer anyone up. He’s usually a little more creative - want to hear about the time he mooned our other cousin? (Part of a long, dull, mostly pointless property boundary dispute. It would just be petty and trashy, except that the two cousins involved were, at the time of the offense, about 60 and 80.)
I do not for a second believe that story; prehaps we could arrange for your funeral so we could come see for ourselves? :dubious:
Dinner was a sloppy, drippy, messy roast beast sammich in which you couldn’t even see the beast thru the thick layer of white (horseradish). IOW, just about perfect!
P.S. Find the panda
You got them. And may God grant ya’ll peace in the days ahead.
Having had a few go-rounds with non-mainstream Methodists I can believe it ------ but I do like the way you think.
Don’t worry Flytrap – if your time comes before mine I will do a proper and respectful eulogy. OK ----- I’ll probably just say “He’s gone ---- and in other news ----” but Jeremy Clarkson assures me that that is proper and respectful.
Honey’s I’m home. Whew what a long day. We left around 10 am to Miami for a 330 appt. As soon as we hit the mainland it was torrential downpours. We were probably doing 25 mph on the interstate. Anyway, we got to the hospital medical arts building and had lunch. We checked in early and Thank Goodness they took us early. Hubby is in AFIB. He had an EKG and an ECHO Cardiogram. He was put on a blood thinner and we have to go back on Tuesday. They are going to admit him and give him an arrrhythmia drug for 24 hours then cardioversion which is a procedure to shock his heart back into normal rhythm and keep him 24 more hours. So my trip to GA is canceled until all this is sorted. We didn’t get home until 9PM.
I am going back to irk tomorrow, Firday and Moanday and hope I can get caught up. I really love his cardiologist. He took a lot of time with us and got a lot done in one appt.
OK. Off to read and catch up. Looks like y’all have been a chatty bunch.
