**Butters - bearing in mind that I’m neither a cardiologist nor do I play one on TV, is your husband a candidate for a pacemaker?
**
MetalMouse - I’m guessing thanks to your running around with kids, literally, you’re strong-like-bull, so as long as you don’t try some stunt that begins with “Hold my beer” you’ll probably outlive us all!
I can’t believe how chilly it is - we’re not getting out of the 50s today! Our highs are supposed to be mid-70s! This spring sucks! I think **FCD **is right -as soon as this breaks, we’re going to leap right to 90’s with humidity in the 2000% range.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of ONLY 75 for the day. Well, BRRRRRR! Normal highs are mid to upper 80s this time of year. I am irkin’ from da cave today because, well I can. I am in the midst of reviewin’/updatin’ a lot of trainin’ plans and can do that just as easily from da cave as I can from the orifice. Plus, joy of joys, I have a conference call this mornin’.
{{{Butters and Hubby}}} here’s hopin’ this takes care of hubby’s arrrhythmia.
Thanks everyone for all the condolences etc.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I shall purtify a bit. Hey, one can be neat and clean even if’n one is irkin’ from home. I may be in tshirt and shorts but I will be clean.
It’s a grey, rainy, chilly day.
I’m wrapped up in a blanket as I type.
I’ve had trouble getting to the board this morning, I don’t know if I should take it personally or not.
I hope your husband will be okay Butters.
I hope FCD is wrong, but I have been expecting the same.
I think I have no gas bill this month. I’m on the budget plan but when I try to pay the bill it says I have a credit. I thought with budget plans you keep paying but then the bill is adjusted to a lower payment? Of course with the heat still running in May, the credit won’t last long. Who ever heard of running the heat in May?
SSDD, irk, maybe some laundry, who knows.
Lunch break, and I need a break from comparing spreadsheets, trying to figure out which drawings and parts I have to transfer and rename, and which aren’t needed. I’ve got to get everything pulled over at once, or it’ll make way too much work in the review process. I’ve learned some stuff about manipulating the data base, so there’s that. If all goes well, this afternoon, I can do the transfer.
Meanwhile, leftover N.O.T. soup for lunch. Boring, but filling, so there’s that.
I am having soup out of a can not home made. Moooooommmmm a pacemaker has never been mentioned so I guess it is not an option.
I am aggravated with our personnel lady. I need to replace one of my teenage girls because she is moving to go to school. This is a flex position with maybe 20 hours per week. The personnel ladie’s assistant sent me a cert and application for one person. This is unheard of. I have never seen a cert with just one name. I wrote the personnel lady and asked if the person is a friend of her assistant. I thought it was a legitimate question. I got a snippy email back that “she would never do that”. I was not insinuating she did any thing wrong. I know they have more applications than one because I know of two other people who applied. WTF.
My entire afternoon was a waste. Boss showed up and fixed the folder problem - exactly 1 minute before my quit time. Oh well, I’ll have something to do in the morning anyway.
I’m not sure I understand why we can’t have permission to create folders. I understand why we can’t delete anything. But we can create models and drawings - why can’t we make a stupid folder to save them in? eeeeeesh
It’s all of 53° in my yard right now. I came home and turned the heat on. **FCD **is in bed - he took a couple of days off and I encouraged him to snooze when he could. Poor baby. When he gets up, we’ll see if he wants to eat. Meanwhile, I just had a cheese stick and some peanuts, so I’m good for a while.
Perhaps it has to do with backing up the network. If your folder isn’t set to be backed up, it won’t be. Perhaps they want to know where all particular drawings are located.
I got some stuff done today, not as much as I would have liked.
Called my mother to let her know her MD gift should be there today. I got her chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate dipped mini cheesecakes.
I found out that April is the month the gas company balances the accounts so YAY! no gas bill this month.
On the down side I ordered online from DG and I forgot the one thing I was supposed to order - hand soap. I was sure I ordered some. I ordered trash bags and I thought I was being careful but I ended up with odor blocking trash bags which stink worse than the trash.
FCM, you might want to suggest to the Boss that he might want to create a few folders for you to stuff stuff in for review, so you aren’t twiddling your thumbs. Restricting access to creating folders is a standard security setting, less chance of the minions doing something that would make IT put down the doughnuts.
First of all, Rosie’s sig to everyone. I hope Mr. Butters’s condition improves, and it’s a good thing it was caught when it was.
So I’ve been at the new gig for a week and so far, so good. Although a lot of it is regulation and policy, it’s actually pretty interesting, and I like my co-workers (so far).
So here’s the big news that’s so big, it’s staying off of Facebook. My husband and I are buying a house. It’s a larger house on the other side of town, but it’s a lot nicer than the one we’re living in now, and the seller isn’t a relative. Learn from my mistake: Don’t do business with a relative, especially when housing is involved. Ever. The relationship between my husband and his stepfather is so toxic right now that he’s absolutely sick from it.
So, anyway, we went house-hunting and found a really great place. It’s three bedrooms, one bathroom, and an eat-in kitchen. It’s got a balcony and off-street parking and all of the appliances. It’s got a front room and a living room and built-in kitchen cabinets. The payment is even affordable at $700 a month! But now it’s down to the nickel-and-diming. $1000 for the deposit, which goes into escrow. $400 for the credit report and appraisal. $340 for the inspection. Money for this, money for that, is the power on for the inspection? I am stressing over this, hard-core.
I think I’m going to do some convention data entry and call it a day.
**flytrap **- I think it’s a power thing. I suppose there could be issues I haven’t considered, but it seems to me to be a silly restriction. Whatever - not my circus, not my monkeys.
Supper has been ingested. The pellet stove is fired up, pumping heated air into the house - it should help take the damp edge off things, I hope. I just hope Saturday is dry - there’s so much to be done outside and one day won’t be enough time. We shall see.
**Robyn **- congrats!! I always loved when we bought a new place. That is, I loved shopping for houses - the actual work part of it - like painting and unpacking - isn’t so fun. But it sounds like you’ve hit the jackpot! You must post pics when you can!
Howdy Y’all! I’ve been a bzzy bear today. There was irk, of course. After that, I mowed OYKW’s yahd (takes less than thirty minutes), and da cave yahd. After mowage, I purtified and went to have a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> for dindin. Then I came back to da cave and packed up for my jaunt up to Ye Olde Home Towne tomorrow. On my way up, I agreed to help JDD and Partner with the mowage of JDD’s parents yahd in large and in charge Parrott, Jawja. I can shower and change into presentable attire there and with the three of us will be done in a couple of hours. This is a hyuuuuuuuge yahd and a lot of it is done with a ridin’ mower of which there are two. Oh and it’s <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out as I post.
Rockin’ yay on the new digs! Just think, whenever anything needs fixin’ you can’t call the landlord cause the landlord will be you!
