Okay, scratch that. There was no Rifftrax tonight because The Carolina was having trouble with their sattelite feed and did not feel they needed to inform us of that until fifteen minutes after the show started. In Nashville, but not in Asheville. On top of that, those of us who bought our tickets through Fathom have to get our refunds from Fathom. This is after they weren’t able to find any of the presold tickets in their system without a confirmation number which my email from Fathom says, and I quote, is not necessary since the card I paid for them with will bring them up in the system. Strong email will follow. Bobbio, I may need to borrow your poison pen.
Sic 'em BigKitty and BBBobbio!
On that note I shall now retire to the boudoir for the night. I’s sleepified!
Nitey Nite Y’all!
And in the words of one of our country’s greatest philosophers – what a long strange trip it has been, as well.
Work was brutal again today and my manager is glad he has me for a double tomorrow. All the college students are ordering crap they don’t want delivered at home now just in case they need to do exchanges/returns before summer break. We had several bottles/boxes break on the line. All reeked but one was so bad I had to take it over Problem Solve myself just to see what it was; it was several bottles of Liquid Ass. Well ------ they do way we’re the Anything Store. :smack:
It’s an awesome house. New roof, fresh paint, and we don’t have to do anything to it, so no painting or anything like that. And we’ve got so much stuff that’s just… crap. Old baby stuff for a baby that is now 13, that sort of thing. (It’s been in the basement long enough that I don’t trust it for safety, so it’s getting pitched, along with a ton of other stuff.) So we’re moving into a larger house with a lot less stuff.

Congrats on the new house, Robyn, and on getting rid of crap! (And I’d definitely pitch the car seat, but safety standards for cribs and high chairs and such haven’t changed heaps in 13 years. Perhaps a women’s shelter or something would be glad to have them?)
The whole yard has been mowed, the kennel roof reinforced, and dog food and groceries procured. Fortunately, my dad wanted to take the girls for Grumpy Meals and playground time (and he finally went and got some glasses, so we didn’t have to have a conversation about why he can’t drive the kids anywhere!) The Boy had rehearsal, The Fellow had a ham radio club dinner, and I ate a scrambled egg sandwich and some yogurt. I’d like to say that I plan to tackle the Leaning Tower of Laundry in the living room, and get it folded and put away tonight. But that would be a big fat lie.
Last week, one of my buddies from the old trivia team was involved in a wreck. I just found out that he died this afternoon, after a week in ICU. I guess I need to find out about services, and at least go to the visitation. His wife is a sweetheart, and I’m sure she’ll miss that dear man. We all will.
You are a fellow engineer, and know that things need to work right.
They want to be sure that everything is backed up.
They want to know where all the drawings are.
They don’t want folks making folders for personal stuff taking up room on the server.
That sounds very logical to me. When I was network admin for a metal building company, the drafting guy put drawings in a folder of his own creation. They weren’t backed up, and were lost in a server crash.
It’s Cinco de Mayo (Cinco means “Hold”, right? ;)) So, of course, instead of going to the Mexican place a block away, we go to the 'Murrikun dive bar almost ½ mile away. Just shots & (cheap swill) beers. They even ran out of limes for the ‘fancy’ import - Corona.
However, they are next door to the (industrial) bakery - makes lots of bread/rolls for sammich’s, etc. It smelled sooooo good when I walked out.
First of all Corona sucks the hind tit. Second of all CALGON TAKE ME AWAY.
I an just a tad bit stressed.
Rockin Yay. There is nothing like homeownership. The day we signed on the dotted line for our dream home the damn car broke down on the way home from the closing.
Peaches my condolences on the loss of a friend. I am still sad about my coworker than I have dealt with for 13 years. I am worried about Mr.Butters. I know he will live but heart ailments be scary.
My biggest worry is what to do with Lucky Louie? Going to a kennel is right out. How dare he be treated like a dog?. I have multiple ppl willing to take him for 72 hours start to finish but will he be able to sleep in their bed? Do they have a high chair for him? Will he get his massage every night? Will he have someone watch every bite he takes and wipe his butt after he poops? Will potential caretaker send me pictures and let me “talk” to him multiple times a day?
Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Working on my day off, since one of my supervisors is sick
If I was closer, off work, and Gordie got along with other dogs, I’d offer to.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 78 and sunny for the day. Today’s plans include mowage of JDD’s parents’ yahd and headin’ out to Ye Olde Home Towne. If’n I am incommunicado for a couple of days this is why. I need to see if mom’s 'puter is updated and stuff while I’m there so I may post.
**{{{Peaches}}} so sorry about your friend.
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall shave and brush my teeth and head on up to Parrott, Jawja for mowage and then onward to Ye Olde Home Towne.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Blurf.
I got nuthin’.
Weird dream last night about my upcoming party. In no particular order, there was a fire at the end of my driveway, next to a motorcycle that was randomly parked there, my mother brought chicken (which would be surprising because my mother considers chicken to be a cheap meal, not something you serve guests) and my sister brought a fox - the sister who does not like animals of any kind. At various points of the dream, I found myself on a screened-on porch (we don’t have one of those) or outside a burnt-out motel or in my childhood bedroom staring at my sister’s fox on my bed. Plus I was panicking because I realized I hadn’t bought any food for the party. My brain hates me.
It’s raining like crazy, and it’s supposed to continue much of the day. I’ve got a dentist appointment at 9, so I’ll be leaving, then coming back. All in all, TGIF!!
Safe travels, swampy!!
Happy Firday, all!!
Blurf. Still getting up at 0500. Dammit body, I’m retired, sleep in!!!
Beginning to settle into a routine; mornings are for on-line, reading and thinking about doing some work on the house. Late morning/early afternoon for outside chores (today is license plate tag, water bill, and prescription refill day), afternoon is do something to clean around the house, followed by nap time, followed by TV and then dinner, with evenings for reading/internetz. We’ll see how long that lasts.
{{{Butters and Mr. B}}}
Rockin’ buying a house can be stressful, but hope it’s everything you want…or at least 90% of it.
Bobbio,, I usually answer them when they ask if I am me, I say “speaking” and when they start their spiel, I say “no longer speaking” and hang up. Doesn’t seem to discourage them, but I feel better.
As for the family aspect mentioned above, I think this is a perfectly normal family…but then, I’ve been known to have a eclectic sense of family…

and my .sig to all
Heya.
Last weekend I went to music camp with my wind orchestra. Great fun!
We have a big concert coming up next weekend.
Going to a concert tonight.
Happy Firday!
It’s another gloomy, rainy day.
We’re both really excited about buying the house, and we’re convinced it’s the right thing to do. It comes with all the appliances, and if there’s something we want and don’t have, we can get it.
As far as us being the landlords, we’re fine with that. The house we’re in now has a number of issues, some relatively trivial, one not so much. All we’ve ever gotten were grandiose plans and nothing really done until the ceiling in the sprog’s room came apart from water damage. The new house will be ours to do with as we wish. We will have to fix what’s broken, sure, but at the same time, we don’t need to wait for someone else to do it.
And taxes. $1,400 a year here on the house we rent out, and another $1,500 on our home, and Arkansas supposedly has low property taxes. :dubious:
I’m about to dirty my nice clean teeth with lunch. Not only did I have no tooth issues, but they finally figured out the billing problem. So yay!!
Still raining like crazy. I stopped at Food Lion on my way back and picked up some brownie mix and a pineapple upside down cake mix - party vittles!! And they’ve got ribs on sale, so I’ll probably go ahead and get them now. I’m thinking some will have rub and some will be plain, served with BBQ sauce. Two weeks to go!! WOOHOO!!
