Yay, Doggio! 3 hours sounds amazing for a lunch date, which are notably preferable as it’s easier to get out soonish if it’s not working, so that sounds good to me

My second Alaskan boat trip <work, not fun> churned to Alaska from Port Angeles, WA, a good…um, 8 days, I think? Anyway, I was the living definition of the worst kind of seasick for the 2-6th days. <takes me a while to GET seasick, but even longer to get over it, apparantly>. Anyway, by the end of the 4th or 5th day, the cook was making brownies, and I decided I would eat that all the time. My thought was that if nothing is going to stay down anyway, might as well taste good coming up!! And it worked!! Or maybe it was just heaven in comparison to the apple juice I’d been horking until then.

So…brownies!!

Mrs. Plant v.3.0 bought a pork loin for dinner. I grilled it with a rub and made a sauce from recipes the dumb ass magazine the flood insurance magazine sends me.

The rub was good, the sauce was meh. Wasted half a pint of whiskey. :frowning:

Today I received in the mail two things of importance - the paperwork that should allow me to finish my divorce unhindered, and a shiny new passport.

It just occurred to me I could not have a more graphic representation of freedom.

Hope you’re feeling better today, Mooooom! I usually settle on dry toast for an unhappy tum but since my tum is happy today, I made it happier by having Marmite on my toast. Even Ophie wants to share that one.

I have ironing to do later, and I should call my doting parent, and I will be making chilli later. There may also be some time on the Wii trying to undo the damage done by visiting the US. I was asleep on the sofa by 10pm last night so was awake quite early today but managed to have a little lie-in before the feline overlords decided it was time for breakfast.

Tomorrow I have a doc’s appointment at 9am but no work to go to so I shall mooch around town and look for a suitable retirement gift for an ex-colleague who is hanging up her hat on Thursday. And I might even get round to downloading photos from my camera too.

Busy, busy, busy!

**2gig **-- congrats, I guess (and hope. It ain’t over 'til it’s over!) Are you planning on using the passport before or after she realizes it’s done and all that’s left is to come after you…? :stuck_out_tongue:

**Mooom **-- feel better. Seconding Boo’s suggestion of toast. But without the marmite – dunno about her, I personally believe it’s far more likely to *cause *a stomach ache than to *cure *it! :stuck_out_tongue:

**Doggio **-- yay!

**FlyTrap **-- obviously this is Karma’s revenge on you for not having the pork on Yom Kippur!

…One of these days the smilies are gonna get back at me for all the abuse I put them through… :o

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and actually caffienated already so no YAWN. 'Tis a pleasent 65 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 87 and dry, dry dry. We get real Fallish weather tonight. The weather PTB say the low will be  51 ! Imagine!

gigity yay for the papers. Hope this over soonest. Final divorce papers and a passport in the same mail. I do believe you’ve won this week’s most interestin’ mail haul award.

Special1 pork on Yom Kippur sounds like the most heretical thing a person of the Jewish faith could imagine ever doin’. I like that in a person.

doggio sounds like a big positive to me. Go You!

I need to go purtify for deheathenization and get OYKW up and movin’ as well because he told me he was takin’ me out to brekkie at Waffle House. YUM!

Happy Sunday Y’all!

With Cream Sauce, eaten in a moving vehicle…

Bacon for the first course, and using a napkin made of mixed fibers, are optional. :stuck_out_tongue: (but bacon is always yummy! :))

Bacon-wrapped shrimp.

Thank Og I’m a Gentile…

Today’s project is my much threatened batch of homemade ketchup. Gotta get working, because it takes longer than my usual pickling and canning efforts.

You’ve got me sitting here at my computer, right after a reasonably nice lunch, drooling…

Nah, the added edginess of Flaunting The Law adds that je ne sais quis to the taste…

Good morning! I survived, and I feel almost normal this morning. I logged off right after posting yesterday, so I missed all the suggestions, tho I doubt that any would have worked.

I never experienced anything like yesterday. I was trying to stay hydrated, but I couldn’t keep water down. I tried a sip of soda, remembering something from my youth about Coke syrup - couldn’t keep that down. I never thought about the antacid tablets, but if I’d managed to ingest a few, I expect the results would have been colorful.

Mostly I lounged on the couch watching the Dead Like Me marathon between dashes to the bathroom. **FCD **got home mid-afternoon-ish and I couldn’t even get excited about the big, fat check. Heck, I couldn’t focus my eyes on it to read the amount. I gave up and went to bed and managed to sleep 3 or 4 hours (I don’t know - I lost track of time.) I felt a little less horrible upon waking, and decided to risk water. No puking, so yay! By then it was way more than 24 hours since I’d eaten and I was suddenly feeling a bit hungry, so I had a few dry Ritz crackers with my water. No puking then, either. At that point, I had a hunger headache, but I was afraid to eat anything more substantial, so I just went to bed.

I woke once during the night, but after watching a little TV, I fell back to sleep till a bit after 6. I have since showered and dressed, and I think the pains I’m feeling are my over-worked puking muscles, so that’s good. I’m inclined to think it was food poisoning, and I’m tossing the rest of the pizza that I *was *going to take to work all week. **FCD **had a different pizza and he was fine, so I’m sure the dough, the sauce, and the cheese weren’t the problem… I’m starving right now, and I think I’ll make the executive decision that we’re not having breakfast out this morning.

In other, not sickie news, **FCD **has to report for jury duty tomorrow. We’ll see if he gets empaneled for the expected trial on Tuesday. So I get to go to work all alone.

**BBBobbio **- did you happen to see my kid at the fair? She and some friends were going, tho I don’t know if it was during the day or at night. I just know she wanted to pet farm animals.

**tugig **- congrats on your impending freedom! I trust you’re smarter than an ex of mine who jumped from one marriage to another. He finally quit after he got rid of #4. I used to tell him he blew it by dumping me lo these decades ago, but I prefer to think now that I dodged a bullet.

woo woo - [sing-song] doggio’s got a girlfriend!!! [/sing-song] Very cool!

**Sticky **- I didn’t do all that many shows, but I’ve found that putting my stuff in consignment is so much easier. Granted, I don’t pocket as much money, but I don’t have to keep hauling stuff back and forth, worrying about the weather, facing long hours when no one buys anything… I never got rained out - I can’t imagine how awful that was!

I know there was more, but my brain is tired… and I need food…

Happy Sunday!

what happened to your “just friend ;)”

How you doin’?

So glad you’re feeling better, FCM!

One of the things that Dave specifically wanted for me was to expand my business so that I could sell from galleries on consignment. Right now I have one gallery that I work with (and she’s freaking awesome!) and as soon as I get these damn Summer homework papers finished I’m going to pursue at least one more that I already talked to previously and then I’ll be on the lookout for more. It is quite exciting getting that check monthly with minimal effort involved.

Doggio, sounds like you did well. If she has half a brain she’ll realize what a nice guy you are. If she doesn’t then you can just move up here to my town.

Speaking of my Summer homework, I decided that I wanted to try to write the final paper this week. So, of course, I’ve also decided that since tomorrow is trash day that I should spend the day cleaning the house and throwing away everything. (Yes, I am fairly predictable about this sort of thing.) Ah well, either way I should get off of here and get to work.

Up, caffeinating, cleaning.

That ended up not working out because of backstabbing by her friends.
[color=purple]Sticks[/purple], she hates cooking, so I’ve been wooing her with my dinner menus.

MMMoooooommmmm!, glad you feel better.

You Whovian Mumpers need to check out today’s Pencognito.

You’re welcome.

definitely a LOL moment.

doggio, sorry about “jf”'s stabby friends, but if you’re going to move anywhere, move here. We could watch Doctor Who together and poke* each other black and blue

  • that’s facebook poking, you perverts.

I’m glad you’re feeling better today, FCM.

In just a bit, I need to shower and get ready to leave the house. My Dad suffered a major stroke yesterday afternoon but I didn’t know about it until evening.

We are going to meet my stepmother where he left his Explorer, drive it back to his place, and then head down to the hospital to find out what is going to happen today. They started platelet transfusions yesterday because his blood is so thin. He’s got bleeding in the brain and today they’re going to decide on some kind of surgery. I don’t know what kind.

Think good thoughts please. He’s in the same place my MiL was a couple of months ago. I feel like I’m spending way too much time at that damn hospital.

{{{Taters and dad}}}; here’s hoping for a swift and full recovery.

{{{{Taters}}}}}

I’ll make positive waves.

{{{{{Taters}}}}} All the best thoughts and vibes to you and your family.

Gotta share this - we’ve got chromis eggs! We saw 3 of them acting weird by the clam, so we went to check it out and saw the eggs. Apparently the 3 weird ones were fertilizing! I doubt they’ll survive the night - I expect the crabs will eat all the eggs. And even if they don’t if they hatch, they’ll be snarfed up by the rest of the fish. But still kinda cool!

The eggs are the white bits in the center of the clam’s upper ridge area.
