I think there’s a lot of variation available in writing that most people do not avail themselves of.
Hi guys says one thing to me.
Hi guyz says another and
Hai guise says a third. It’s not that anyone is necessarily appropriate but there’s a different level of feeling, irony and camaraderie in them.
In much the same way,
I ate the plums in the icebox. says one thing and
i ate the plums in the icebox says something else. For me, not capitalizing is often used to demonstrate embarrassment or regret.

Just another one chiming in to say I don’t read your posts as you appear to be illiterate.
I’ll just say this:
(1) expectopatronum’s non-capitalized, non-punctuated text is frankly far less irritating than
(2) Susanann’s RANDOMLY CAPITALIZED, randomly !!! punctuated Text!!!
I’m not so sure about that. The latter has a conceivable purpose, while the former is just irritating.
Oy gevalt. I for one didn’t even notice what expectopatronum was doing until it got made into a big poopin’ deal. It’s not like she’s posting in txt or 133+speak (or whatever the leetspeak spelling of leetspeak is).
Erm… what conceivable purpose does the latter serve that ordinary punctuation does not?
It gives me a much more vivid impression of what it would be like to have a conversation with her.
The punctuation serves to distract people from the fact that one’s a shrill, Pollyanna-ish, judgemental twerp with no grasp of how the world works, duh!
I think the actual content of her posts is sufficient to speak to that issue.
I didn’t say it was necessary, but it does actually have some expressive communicative effect.
For what it’s worth, I have deduced from ep’s posting style that she’s terrific in bed.
