Recent server timeout errors — anyone else getting them?

It’s being unable to even get into this thread to report problems (this was my third attempt) that makes the board seem ridiculously buggy

ETA: Make that fourth attempt, since the board timed out before I could get this posted.

ETA again: Still timing out.

No, I understand. It’s just that none of us are counting the number of successful actions we execute without incident. Instead, we recall the 50x errors.

And that would have to be done for all users and rolled into one lump to really know how bad things are.

Every since people have been reporting the 50x errors, for two months going, I have not once had a case of a bunch of 50x errors happening a bunch of times in a row. Almost every time, it’s one error – then I hit F5 and all is well. Occasionally, two errors in a row. Typically, I will leave the SDMB briefly at this point … a minute or two has typically been sufficient. I come back, and the errors generally cease.

What I do see with frequency is what should be a 100 millisecond page load taking a slow five-count to open. Not slow enough to throw up an error, but slow enough to notice something is off.

I’m seeing that slowness a good bit today, just when many others are reporting 50x errors. I did have one 502 earlier today, but just the one.

I’d like to speak with the manager.

That’s it. I’m done with SDMB. This is too aggravating.

Unless this post goes through ok, I don’t think I’ve had a single action executed without incident today.

Nope.

As you can see from my previous multipost, my experience has been less satisfactory. I was simply trying to edit the first post, but the timeouts and 50X errors make me look like one of those persons who just can’t resist starting another post to say “AND ANOTHER THING!”

Par for the course here.

(IT’S TAKING LONGER THAN WE THOUGHT)

Let’s see if I can preview and post.

And another.

Heh…

Can we please just fix this?

We are supposed to be smart. The best and the brightest. Yeah, yeah.

Can we buy the board from the current owners and then fix it?
Can we pay to get it fixed?
Can we pay the person responsible to fix it on their own time?

We are not going to grow this way, we are going to die.
I will throw in $20 today, if a solution is proposed.

Annnd of course, an error trying to post.

This is in no way a dig at Tuba or staff, but I think it may be time to do something.

Apparently, they’re waiting for this thread to get as long as the Trivia Domino thread before fixing the problem. Pages time out, threads won’t load, to everything spin, spin, spin.

Face it, folks, we have lost contact with the mother ship. They are not responding to us. We’re on our own here.

Or maybe, since they’re aware of the ongoing issue, the mods don’t check this thread any longer. It’s not like they’re not getting the same 50x errors that we are. So maybe they see there have been more replies and think, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. We get it.” I’d like to know what’s going on, though, so I’m going to start a new thread to see if I can snag a mod’s attention.

I just think the moderators shouldn’t be expected to deliver a technical answer. I don’t think they really know more about the situation than the general user base.
