Oh wait, the odds are 6 to 1 against that if you try to click over you’ll get a 502 error.
no way a hosting company like Amazon or Google would have these issues. They could probably fix it in a few hours. They can scale up a site by changing a few settings. Of course you have to pay more for a bigger/better site.
So far so good this morning. Did they find & fix the issue last night?
TubaDiva made a detailed post last night in this thread (post #47) with a little more info in post #49. So yeah, they did something but it might just be a temporary fix.

Why do I get a 504 error every time I try to edit? FIX THE BOARDS!
Fist bumps to the previous three posts. Never been worse than it has today. Just getting here was a Sisyphean exercise in forbearance, equanimity and WTFaaaaaahhhh…
I’ll bet I’m not the only one who wouldn’t mind hearing from someone actually from DesertNet, itself, for a word on the situation.
Came to post a complaint, and then realized that, at least for now, things are actually running smoothly. Fingers crossed that it continues.
Yeah, disregard the post above. Had a smooth two minutes in Thread Games and thought everything was working. The 504 timeouts started immediately afterward. What a mess.
Barely usable tonight.
I’ve been getting 502s and 504s repeatedly for the past half hour or so. Hopefully I can post this. 
I’ve been getting them all day.
Seems much better now. There was a brief message saying the board was down for maintenance, that seemed to last less than 10 minutes, and it began running smoothly for me again after that.
All smooth sailing for me (so far) today, as well.
Just got a 504.
It’s a paradox. The only way you can post that things aren’t working is when they’re working.
I also got a 504, twice, in a row. First one, then the second one on a reload of the page.

Ironically, that does not make it a 10-08.
504, server timeouts, fairly continuously for periods yesterday and today. On page opening. Once the error pops up, most of the time when I tap reload, the page comes up immediately. More complicated if I’m trying to post.
Chrome browser on Android phone.
