San Diego Chargers could go all the way to the Super Bowl

That’s what they like to call “STILLERS FOOTBAWL, !!!1111, LULZ, HA HA HA” in Pittsburgh.

Everyone else calls it “cheap shotting bullshit”.

I don’t think the Bengals will Crush the Steelers. Not the way the Steelers have been playing down the stretch. In fact, I think that’s the worst possible matchup for the Bengals.

I still think Cincinnati is the better team, but when you are playing a divisional opponent for the third time, all bets are off.

And the way the Steelers have played the past few weeks, I’d like their chances in a first round game.

But they have to get in first. And that first KC drive gave me a glimmer of hope until the Chargers scored right back. I don’t see the Chiefs staying with the Chargers today. Rivers looks too good, and he’s had a terrific year.

I wish that I could agree with you at this point. Some really crappy play calling which has already cost the Bolts a couple of games this year.

I take it back. It does server them right if they lose. This is fucking pitiful.

I am going to be sick… can someone please locate both Nate Kaeding and Marlon McCree so I can nut punch them?

Don’t be sick yet. Still a ton of time left.

However, if. I were a Charger fan, i’d be throwing up. They are losing to the entire second team of the Chiefs. 20 of the 22 starters this week are second teamers, including the QB.

They should be blowing these guys out.

Go Chiefs!

Rivers drives me crazy. I am so happy the Steelers didn’t have a chance to draft him. Cowher wanted him over Big Ben and thank god the Chargers and Giants hosed that dream at the top of the draft.

Rivers had all of the talent in the world, and never seems to put it together.

C’mon Chargers! C’mon Bills (whom just scored)!!!

Never a doubt.

All you have to do is believe in miracles … yea Chargers win 27 to KC’s 24

Miracle number three (3) was KC missing that 41 yard field goal to break the tie and win the game with only 4 seconds left … football went wide to the right.

Miracle number four (4) Chargers win the coin toss for OT and then a fourth down fake punt results in a first down.

Miracle number five (5) the Chargers score in OT to make the game 27 to 24 giving the Kansas City Chiefs one more chance to win in OT. They have a fourth and 15 and the ball sails on by the receiver.

Chargers win to go on to the playoffs next week at Cincinnati Bengal’s

Miracle number six (6) they beat Cincinnati …

Never give up …

Well, thank you for that, Ryan Succop, you cock sucker.

I hope you pulled your groin on that pathetic attempt at a game winning FG.

6 inches, and the Steelers miracle playoff birth happens. But no, you had to crush my hopes in the worst way.

I wish the Chargers would have won 42-0.

Oh well.

I am officially rooting for the Colts to come out of the AFC now.

Rivers is a squinty-eyed spastic case. That guy is just not going to win.

However, i would be happy to see the Chargers get into the SB over the Patriots, Broncos, and Chiefs.

I hope the Chiefs lose next week… Probably to the Bengals, and the Colts will beat the Chargers.

Steeler fans, get ready for the draft!

It’s annoying seeing the Chargers snag the Wild Card. They almost managed to fuck it up even against the Chiefs’ practice squad. I look forward to seeing them get blown out in the playoffs.

The one upside, of course, is that the last seconds of regulation, and overtime, crushed the hopes and dreams of Steeler fans. That’s always something to cheer about.

I think you meant to say “WHO DEY!”

The Chargers are lucky as fuck. They surely fumbled on that one play that KC would have returned for a TD, but it was “unchallengeable”. That would have iced the game right there.

Frankly, they way the Chargers struggled against the Chiefs second stringers give this Bengals fan hope as San Diego has to come to our house and try to beat OUR defense, in a place where we are UNDEFEATED this season.

I forgot to commend mhendo on his comment about “crushing the hopes and dreams of Steelers fans”. Hell yes! And with Ben in the post game presser with that patchy rapist beard and everything…talking about the “heart and soul” of his team and whatnot…which to my ears says “We just couldn’t cheap shot our way into another playoff…sorry STILLER fans, we know that’s the Stiller footbawl you Cletus motherfuckers like, but we just couldn’t deliver…but hey there, Canteen Boy…my beard is scratchy!”

Fuck them and their cheating bullshit ways. So glad they didn’t make it.

Play offs did someone say play offs

It turns out that the Chargers had an illegal line-up on the missed field goal and should have been called for a penalty. That would have been a five yard penalty and a re-kick. I am a long time Charger fan but we really, really didn’t deserve this.

The Chargers didn’t deserve this win in the same way they didn’t deserve the loss in week 1. Bad calls suck, but there’s not much you can do.

Not to mention the referee’s call in the Washington Redskins game when the runner nudged the marker and then swung out of bounds. The side judge says it’s a touchdown, but the other judge has to look at it while another judge comes over, and I can’t read lips, but it looked like he was saying it was not a touchdown.

The referee comes out from under the review booth and says to put the ball on the six inch line and that the touchdown was overruled. Then to add even more embarrassment the other ref that had whispered to the other ref comes over and puts the ball on the one and half foot line with the next play being no touchdown and then the Chargers kicked a field goal instead and then of course the Redskins win in OT.

No life is not fair, but football has a life of it’s own …

Imagine a team that lost to the Texans and to the Redskins and even lost to the lowly Oakland Raiders beating four teams in the playoffs, the Eagles, the Colts, the Broncos and the Chiefs X2 going to the playoffs anyway.

Bad calls/non-calls are part of sports. No need to feel guilty when they go your way, no point in being outraged when they go against you (well, okay, you get some leeway on that as a fan). Over time they even out. Play on.

Who else was contending for that spot? The 8-8 Ravens, 8-8 Steelers, and 8-8 Dolphins… nobody deserved it. Somebody had to get it, and it might as well be the Chargers. Make the best of it!

I was at the game yesterday and the end was just unreal. I’ve never before experienced that particular combination of shock, disbelief, amazement and sheer jubilation from 66,000 people - well, except for the Chiefs fans in the house who were still shocked and amazed and mostly pretty happy that their backups played so well. And I love going into the playoffs with the “playing with house money” attitude that the Chargers must surely be feeling right now.

And I’d also like to thank the Steelers fans in this thread for remembering what their brethren in the rest of the blogosphere seem to have forgotten today - that yesterday’s game was reffed by Bill Leavy, who also reffed Super Bowl XL between the Steelers and Seahawks, and who therefore must never, never be criticized by Steelers fans for anything he ever does for the rest of his life.
