You’re new in these parts, and (not surprisingly) you don’t particularly understand the local culture. A lot of the pile-on you experienced here results from the fact that your post starting this thread potentially ran afoul of a few of the “local ordinances” and people didn’t know what to make of you. For now I take you at your word that you really are unfamiliar with terms like troll and cite. If so, you have a pretty good learning curve ahead of you.
At or near the top of each forum page are stickies setting forth each forum’s rules (at ATMB is also a thread explaining some of the SDMB’s unique “vocabulary”). You are well advised to study these and take them to heart.
You might consider reading more and posting less 'til you get a feel for the place.

I don’t think the guy is really on your side. The guy claims to be railing against liberal pussies, but advocating summary execution and abolishing trial by jury isn’t exactly a liberal vs. conservative talking point. They don’t even have anything to do with each other. I mean, I’m a Cowboys fan, but if someone comes along yelling “Go Dallas Cowboys! Let’s eat some babies!”, I don’t jump in with “You tell 'em, chief! Eat them babies!”

I’ve only prescribed some Rand on one occasion (maybe two occasions), and the patient really needed it. I’ve fought ignorance in lots of other ways. Some ignorance is more stubborn than others (as you continue to quite aptly demonstrate).
