(Okay, not all. Cox’s delight at realizing he was having a daughter, the road trip in the RV, the Janitor’s amnesia, Carla’s weepiness, all great. But Kim is still a bitch.)
I do have to say that I did some checking and Neil Flynn, who plays the Janitor, did have a bit part in The Fugitive. Very cute. 
I haven’t even watched it yet, but ElzaHub spoiled it for me (I was upstairs watching Grey’s), and the first words out of my mouth were…“What a bitch!”
Stupid Kim. I hate her right now.
ElzaHub also said the scenes of the baby gripping Turk’s hand from in utero were creepy. He also thought our son’s ultrasound was creepy, so I don’t really take him seriously when he says that - was it truly creepy or was it an ‘aww’ moment?

It was lovely. I don’t know how realistic it was, if surgeons would let a baby’s hand poke out like that during surgery, but it was a bit of an Awwww moment.
I didn’t quite get what was wrong with the baby…something with her lungs? She’s going to need more surgery after she’s born?
And please, Cox, do something with your hair. Aaaack.

It took me a while to find it outside of a pro-life site. It’s a remarkable photo, but it shouldn’t be given any unnecessary moral or political weight.

Can someone tell me what happened, esp. in regards to the “Kim is a bitch” concensus?
I don’t have cable (and can’t get anything to come in with our rabbit ears) so I haven’t seen the show in awhile, but I’ve been keeping up with it via this thread.
Kim is such a bitch! Loved the episode.
She claimed to have had a miscarriage, they broke up after spending the whole night talking, then at the end shes with a doctor whos telling her that everything is fine with her baby. Who does something like that? i hated it.
JD took a road trip to see Kim. He got there, and then Kim told him she had a miscarriage and didn’t want to tell him over the phone. They then decided to go their separate ways. The show ends with Kim at an ultrasound, looking at the baby’s heartbeat, after JD has left.
JD made a road trip to be with Kim during her first ultra-sound. Upon arriving, she told him she’d miscarried, and that she’d been offered a better job and wasn’t coming back. They talked through the night and decided they would end things and just remain friends.
And then, at the end, we saw her actually getting the ultra-sound and find out that she lied and the baby is, in fact, perfectly healthy. :dubious:
I’ve put my theory as to why Kim may not be a bitch in a spoiler box.
[Spoiler]I missed part of it, but saw the ending with Kim. The impression I got of the character was that she had decided to get an abortion and stay wherever she was. In order to spare JD the moral complexities of the issue and perhaps to avoid a long discussion, she told him that she miscarried.
This might not be the best course of action, but I think one that might be more consistent with her character.[/spoiler]
Well, it did give them an out from a storyline that I wasn’t too happy with. Not a good out, but an out. JD being a father would not have been a pleasant season.
I agree. One too many babies. It’d be like Romper Room or something.

I thought she had a UTI and needed a shunt. Since she would outgrow that, she would need a replacement in a few months.
I thought the hand was alternately creepy and sweet but Cox’s reaction to having a girl was pure sweet. Aw.

I don’t think so. Since you claim no inside info, just speculation, I’m going to forego spoiler boxing.
She seems to be doing roughly what Jordan did with Cox - making sure the guy isn’t just staying in it because he got her pregnant. My impression is she got the offer to stay in the job, thought about how rough a long-distance thing would be, and decided if JD was only staying with her because of the baby, she would “let him off the hook.” It doesn’t make any sense to me that a woman planning an abortion would have a routine ultrasound showing “the baby is all right.”
I was surprised, because I figured they had the m/c to get out of a disastrous plotline and excise Kim from the show. Also, because what she did is absolutely execrable.
IIRC, Cox’s baby had a urinary blockage, which was obstructing the flow of amniotic fluid through her system (yep, they pee inside us!) and this would cause fluid to build up in her lungs, or something.
I remember the photo they based the surgery shot on - a crazy prolifer posted it to an atheist board a few years ago with no warning it had guts in it.
I can see no reason why a woman who has desided to have an abortion would undergo a routine ultrasound. I think it would have been less repugnant of Kim to have an abortion and lie to JD (I think it’s ultimately her decision and all, YMMV) than her current course of action. She has stolen their child from him. She is despicable.
I agree that the ultrasound wouldn’t make sense in that context, however, I was thinking a last minute change of heart. It is rampant speculation on my part with no support nor much to base it on other than it doesn’t ring true for the character to do otherwise.
