N’Orleans WR for a RB…

Make offer

In case you guys are interested in more SDMB football stuff, the pick 'em and survival leagues are open.

Allen Robinson is out for the season. I have him in 3 leagues. I can take the hit in the other 2 leagues, but I think it’s going to essentially murder my team in this one.

Sucks having a core player go down early in the season. This league, especially, is one where you really have to pray that you can avoid injuries, because there really isn’t a pool of players that you can go to for a replacement.

It’s sort of funny reading all the online fantasy football advice, and realizing how irrelevant it is to our league. This story, for example, about how fantasy owners should deal with the loss of Robinson. The story suggests to grab one of the following, in this order:

LOL.

Yeah, good luck grabbing a “big free-agent running back” in a league of 20 teams. Or any wide receiver at all.

Another thing about the big league is that one player going down can really open up possibilities for other teams. I might actually benefit from the same injury that screwed you up, as i have Jags WR Allen Hurns on my team. Given Bortles’ quality, it doesn’t look like Jacksonville are going to be a very pass-heavy team, but Hurns should get a decent share of whatever passes they do throw.

Wasted Stafford’s and Jacksonville’s efforts this week. Went into Monday night needing 5.10 points, finished needed 5.50 points. Gotta love a negative night.

Well, brickbacon (Not Sure) and i played the tightest game in the league this week. If there are no late scoring adjustments (and i’m keeping my fingers crossed that there aren’t), then i got away with the win by 1.38 points.

I lost about 16 points by fielding a couple of wrong players (one RB and one WR), while my opponent could have added 14 points to his score by playing his second-string defense. My useless kicker managed to miss a FG ***and ***an extra point.

There are six teams with a waiver budget of $100+. Where does this extra waiver budget money come from?

It’s money left from the draft. We’ve been doing that for a while. It means that people who are more frugal during the draft can get a small advantage on their waiver bids.

I was checking the Free Agent bids to see if people were really bidding Chris Johnson to $60, and I noticed that Exploding Pancakes’ $14 bid for Andre Ellington was outbid by Exploding Pancakes’ $15 bid for Andre Ellington. Someone’s playing chess while I’m playing checkers.

edit: Ugh, time to delete my signature

Ahhhhhh, Thanx Hendo!

Shockingly, I won in week 1. But I’m now without David Johnson and really without any credible RB, so I’d be surprised if I win again this season. I’ll basically need 100Y/2TD games from Julio Jones on a weekly basis.

… as well as my $14 bid for Ellington. :frowning:

Woohoo! First!

Although I doubt that will last long… I’m only eighth in points scored.

Somehow, the top seven scoring teams in the league are all 1-1.

My team was useless this week, although my opponent got the second-highest score of the week, so even a good week probably would have been a loss for me.

I also appear to have made the mistake of choosing some good players on shitty teams, who suffer from their teams’ overall mediocrity. Aaron Rodgers is still throwing for over 300 yards a game, but he’s apparently got a paper wall for an offensive line, and has been sacked 7 times in the first two games. Not only does each sack cost me, but it also leaves him more prone to injury, and if he goes down i’m fucked. The poor protection probably also means he’s rushed on a lot of his passes, which will reduce his effectiveness. I’m guessing about this, because i haven’t actually seen either of his games.

I’ve also got two RBs who run behind what is, apparently, the shittiest OL in all of football: Perkins and Vereen of the Giants. At least Vereen makes some catches, so i think i’ll be starting him this week.

Allen Robinson last week, Greg Olsen this week - I can’t imagine fielding a viable team after losing 2 of my top 3 guys to IR in the first 2 weeks. Ah well.

“I wish I had started Blake Bortles” said [del]no-one ever[/del] SenorBeef in Week 3.

I know, right?

London games usually have paltry offensive numbers. The Ravens defense has pitched a shutout then kept a team to 10. Who would possibly think Bortles would have a career game here?
