Now begins the fun part! Picking out and mailing your package! Please post in this thread both when you have mailed your package and when you have received it, even if you’re not going to open it until Christmas. Let’s try to make a deadline of December 12 to mail out the packages. Understandably not everyone can make that date but if we can get them to people by Christmas, so much the better!

Shopping for my giftee will be fun (well, as fun as shopping can be for me, anyway). It’ll be like going on a hunt.
I’ve already looked up threads my giftee has started and I have learned more about her and what she likes from there. Granted, that information is older (and other) than what she provided in this thread, but it does give me more info about her.
Only 24 more shopping days (and shipping-so-the-gift-arrives-in-time days) until Christmas!
I like gifts that reflect the gift giver. Something he or she likes that may not be widely known. Perhaps something from his/her home area. I have such a respect for the people I’ve come to know over the years here at the SDMB. If you like it, I’ll most likely like it too because it will add something concrete to someone I’ve only known through words.
It would help if you email Anaamika. Her email is in the OP. Don’t count on her monitoring this thread for information on the gift exchange’s administration. Anaamika’s job here is pretty much completed.
Thank you! She did PM me, and I got back to her this morning. I will be monitoring this thread, but yes, if you have an issue with the person you are sending to, lost address or whatever, that would be better if you e-mail/ PM me. I’ll be quicker on that.
I will continue to monitor as people send/receive gifts.
Just by pure happenstance the person that I got for my own Santa asked for something that I know EXACTLY what to get them and I am super pleased about it.

Yes, rocking chair is a girl person. (I was going to say “comes with girl plumbing,” but though I’ve met her, that is not something I have direct knowledge of.)

i always got in trouble with languages that assign gender to items. i can never remember if the chair is a boy and if it is, what is the table? then things go down hill rapidly.
why are problems girls? really, any girl could tell you that problems are boys.
Thanks, I was able to recover the address once I got home. I was out of town for an emergency and not feeling well while I was off island. Still not feeling well but atleast I am home and in my own space.
I went into Barnes and Noble today and saw a couple of possibilities, but realized I need to research my person a little better. I’m on the job, though. Kinda.
