During the season we can post on the Yahoo league message board thing. I don’t know if it works during the offseason.
I’ll try to look. I play in the SDMB baseball big league on Yahoo. I think sometime in January or February they wipe everything out when they gear up for the new season and shut it down for a few weeks. As of today, the final results are still there from this season and I could post on the message board.
Congratulations, Hamlet. A well-deserved championship (though it would have been nice if I could have repeated as champion 10 years after winning our inaugural title). No reason to think the standings will look much different at the top next season, though I will be in trouble if the Bucs don’t retain Jameis Winston.
Interesting note on Gore. I just went back and checked and my longest-tenured player from the original draft was DeSean Jackson (though I traded him away three times and traded for him twice subsequently, and he’s no longer on my roster).
Did I miss a thread about the Reader going bust or something?
I think the two of us have been swapping him back and forth forever. I don’t even really know why, it just seems to happen every few years.
The board was down almost continuously from December 23rd until yesterday morning.
If I had to bet, I’d see the odds are probably 50/50 that the board will still be up and running by the time we’ll need to start preparing for the 2020 draft, so a backup plan might be good.
In terms of a message board thread for the draft, if the SDMB went away (or goes down for an extended period) I guess we could use The Giraffe Boards.
Yeah, if around Christmas was the only time the SDMB has been down, I wouldn’t have worried. I’m sure they’re not waking up their top tech people to fix this message board over a holiday.
But there have been an increasing number of long board outages and technical issues. There’s a bunch of threads in ATMB about it.
We got the draft done in time last year even with all the issues about job losses, Australia trips, and hurricanes, but there’s no doubt the board being down for multiple days during the draft would be a headache. PMs not being available means that trade talks couldn’t continue either even while we’re waiting on someone to make a pick.
Let’s see what 2020 brings for the SDMB. If the technical glitches continue or if there’s rumours of a complete shutdown.
Maybe everyone should consider subscribing to this thread if you don’t often hang out in the game room after the NFL season.
In the event that the boards go down permanently, I’d e-mail everyone with a solution, but Ellis Dee’s suggestion of Giraffe Boards seems like a good idea, since a lot of SDMB traffic would be moving over there if the boards shut down anyway.

One of the more intriguing subplots of the season was **dale’s **gambit to punt 2019 and invest heavily in 2020. It appears there were mixed results from this experiment, as one of the picks was a high pick, and one rather low. Here’s our 2020 draft order:
1.01 - Ides of Martz (Omniscient) - His first top overall pick
1.02 - Overly Sentimental (Overly Sentimental) - Goes to dale as part of Todd Gurley trade

1.04 - New York Fanboys (Ellis Dee)
1.05 - HungryHungryHaruspex (Jules Andre)
