You’re right, I had Guice on IR. Thanks.

I know you all probably have seen this in other threads, but…

If anyone happens to be interested, we have a few spots open in the big league. It drafts next week, Wednesday the 4th at 8pm eastern. You have to attend the draft - because we have 20 players and yahoo’s automatic values are meant for 12 players, the auto-drafter simply can’t build a viable team.

But it’s a fun league - with how much bigger it is than normal you have more strategies/difficult decisions you can use in the (auction) draft. And talent is spread much thinner, so you’re more rewarded for finding breakout players and sneaky good values.

If you can make the draft and you’re interested in trying it this year, send me a PM or post over in that thread.

1.08 Darwin Thompson, RB, Chiefs
A bit of a reach, but I need RB insurance for Gordon and Elliott. I don’t think its a stretch that their other two RB are iffy, so with that offence he could put up some points.

RNATB is up, but hasn’t been on since 5am (pacific). Did you send him a PM?

PM was sent.

I went through and compiled a list of the cuts, mostly for my own reference, but it’s here if anyone’s interested. Please let me know if there are errors/omissions.

Thanks for the list. Isaiah Crowell should also be on it - I thought I could stash him on IR but after we discussed it I couldn’t, so he’s cut.

Alright, we’re moving along too slowly this year and I may have to start enforcing a timer.

I didn’t mention it this year, but in the past we’ve talked about it - if you think you may be gone for your pick you can send me a PM with a title something like “my next pick” and I won’t look at it until and if it’s necessary. You can send me a list of ranked players and I’ll draft whichever the highest ranked one available is.

If RNATB hasn’t picked in another 8 hours or so, I’m going to open it up to the next owner in the draft. RNATB can then come back and make up his pick at any time (but won’t be able to draft the player someone else already took once we’ve moved on - he’ll just be on the clock whenever he comes back). After that, we’ll start enforcing a 12 hour timer for picks, although if people need more time for some reason they can ask for it and I’m sure it’ll be granted for any reasonable circumstances.

A little public shaming is always fun…

1.01 Petey - submitted the first overall pick early to a commissioner, A+
1.02 Beef - 2.5 hours, solid A
1.03 Justin - 8 hours, but it was overnight (2:30am to 10:30am) so I’m going B+
1.04 Overly - 15 hours. The delay included a big trade, but still: D-
1.05 Justin - 21 hours. Delay included a big trade, but still: F
1.06 Omni - 3 minutes. A+
1.07 Gaffer - 10.5 hours, but it was overnight (10:30pm to 9am) so a solid B
1.08 Retro - 8 hours, C
1.09 RNATB - been on the clock 15 hours and counting: F

This is going poorly so far, with the notable exceptions of Petey and Omni whose timely picks have been our only saving grace.

I get that Justin has reshaped his entire draft, but 29 hours for his two picks alone is brutal. (He only has 1 more pick to make, meaning the best he can hope for is averaging 10 hours per pick. Ouch.)

Retro and RNATB have hurt us by going extra slow right when slowness was starting to become a problem.

So far, we have been averaging 10 hours per pick, which is terrible.

Come on. The time between the 1.05 trade and the pick was like six seconds. Are you really going to ding me for negotiations that didn’t even start until right before the trade was made?

Sorry guys. I was prepping for the hurricane yesterday and didn’t log on. I’m thin at WR, but now really thin at TE, so the pick is TJ Hockenson, TE, Det. I’ll PM Hamlet. Depending on the weather, I may have to send a list of potential picks to Beef or something.

I did mention I was in Australia all week, so if a pick was made during downtime I wasn’t going to see it right away. Had I not been bored awake by a replay of a cricket match it might have been longer.

I gave SenorBeef a list of two guys. RNATB took one of them.

Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo.

RBs are at a premium apparently, so I guess I’ll grab the best one left.

RNATB, you’re up again.

Yep, fair points all on your individual circumstances. I’m concerned with the overall progress, though.

Last year we started the draft 12 hours earlier (noon Sunday instead of midnight Sunday night) and by that Thursday late afternoon (equivalent to 7 hours from now) we were up to pick 4.03.

By the equivalent to tomorrow night at midnight, there were only 6 picks left in the entire draft.

Looking at it the other way, right now we’re on pick 1.11 at noon on Thursday. Last year we were on pick 1.11 Monday night at 10pm.

I have dale listed as owning pick 1.11. I went back just now to verify and I don’t see any trades of that pick, and the OP shows it belonging to dale. (Previously Jules; they traded it last year as part of the Saquon Barkley deal.)

Right, I got Jules’ second-rounder.

Give me a day to get caught up, major issues going on at work and let’s hope I have a job after tomorrow. Sorry, can’t even think about football right now, no one knows if the entire office is closing or just my department is being eliminated.

Yikes, that sucks.

Something to keep in mind, we could conceivably do a “live” draft here in the thread like Sunday afternoon or Tuesday night or whenever. Figure if everyone is online and refreshing the thread (or sent in pre-rankings), we could probably knock out the entire draft in an hour or so.
