Yep, that was me. I hope you enjoyed opening everything. Sorry it was late - I had ordered a calender from Barnes & Noble.com and it didn’t arrive until December 24. I ordered on the 12th, but shipping took longer than the five day estimate.
I’m glad to hear they arrived. If you like the cookies, I can translate and send you the recipes. Some are traditional local specialties, others I made up myself.
OK, now I’m worried. I sent my gift off on Saturday December 15th, and was told it would talk 2 or 3 days to get to its destination. The person I sent it to has posted in this thread, but I don’t know if they got it. Now, I could be setting myself up for a sucker, here, but I was considering sending some homemade cookies as a supplement next time I bake. If I don’t see that the gift hasn’t been received, I may throw in some make up presents.
Baker, old friend, I wish I could say I was the person who drew your name, but I’m afraid it wasn’t me.
Please, everyone, relax. We’ll sort it out. I’ve been off this week so have been fairly lazy, and to be honest, I am not quite worrying about people who haven’t gotten their gifts quite yet. Mail is weird and slow in the States around Christmas.
I swear, everyone who signed up will get a gift somehow, even if I have to send them all out! But let’s wait a few more days. Last year I didn’t get mine until mid-January, and I’m not letting anyone get by without a gift.
I’m back at work on Wednesday next, and at that point I will start going after people who haven’t sent, if there are any, and trying to figure out what has happened to packages that were sent. Until then, just be patient.
Here is the updated list.

Woohoo!!! My gift arrived!!! I think it arrived at the office while I was at home on holiday!
So I cut through the carefully wrapped brown paper, sliced open the sellotape on the box and pulled out a wrapped present and a beautiful card, signed by sugar and spice! I unwrapped the present and found a beautiful snowman-adorned christmas tin. I prised the lid off the tin and found a pile of more little gifties! After finally unwrapping all of the gifties, my haul consists of:
a gorgeous glittery hippo Christmas tree ornament
a very cool Chicago White Sox Christmas tree ornament
a two-pack of very cute baby socks for HRH
a container of deliciously yummy smelling “vanilla sugar cookie” bath salts
Woohoo!!! Thank you so much sugar and spice! The ornaments will be saved to go on the tree next year, the bath salts will be used next weekend, and the cold snap we are having now means HRH will be wearing those socks in the next few days. You have definitely eased my return to the office after the holidays and made my day!
You’re welcome, Einmon, I’m glad they got there in a timely manner. I hope you enjoy e, it’s one of my favorite humorous books.
And fisha! Thank you so much for the gifts! Your package was waiting for me when I got home from my Christmas trip. For everyone’s info, fisha sent me a pair of beautiful antique postcards of her hometown and a box of delicious candy. I love them both!
I hope everyone had a great holiday! Thanks, 'Mika, for hosting this.
I too have got a package from Idaho. They gave an IRL name but not a username, so I can’t mention them here, but many thanks. Don’t know if the giver is my original Secret Santa, but many, many thanks!
Some cute Idaho postcards. My favorite is the one with the horned potato crossing the road, although the jackalope is cool too. Who knew you could milk a jackelope?
A teeny weeny four sided grater, very cute. One could grate nutmegs or hard nuts with it.
A coffee cup with a deer on the side, plus two bags of Starbucks coffee. I love good coffee. I have a coffee cup collection, and this will go there. I don’t have a collection theme, but the cups are what you might call “memory holders” They remind me of special times/places, and this one will make me think of the giver.
A plastic cup with double walls that has liquid in there, with sparkly stuff, and snowflakes on the side.
Chocolate dipped peppermint sticks. I started a diet 1/2, but ate one stick, couldn’t help my baser instincts. Chocolate is my life.
A variety pack of Twining’s black tea. “Tea, Earl Grey, hot” Who can ID the quote?
Again, many thanks to my Idado gifter! I love it all!!!
gfloyd, if you were sending to me(as I didn’t get mine until recently, and I suspect the giver was giving a second time), I didn’t get yours.
I know there’s still a couple who didn’t recieve, I’d be willing to send again if someone wants to trust me with a real life address. I love putting stuff together like this.
I’m still feeling guilty that I received two gifts, and I’m still willing to send out another package to someone who didn’t get one. I’m sure **Anaamika **will check in again soon.
Thalion, just to keep you updated there’s still no sign of it. If it was sent surface instead of air mail it will probably still take a while longer. I’ll post here as soon as it arrives.
We need to figure out just how many haven’t got their gift yet. As I said upthread I think that mine came from a Doper who was gifting for the second time.
So I would be willing to mail to a Doper who didn’t get theirs.
