Yay! I don’t remember whether I put this in the note, but much of the scarf was crocheted during a Christmas concert, so I like to think it absorbed a little extra Christmas cheer.
There have been so many 'thankses" to me in this thread. You are all very welcome. I have seen them all, and only refrained from answering each one because it would feel like taking too many bows, you know? But I am very happy to be appreciated and allowed to put this together.
Glad it made it! I’ve been internet-less for a few days but I was starting to think it was lost -not helped by the guy at the post office telling me ‘it probably doesn’t need a customs form’, then chucking it into the bag :dubious:
I couldn’t get those links to work, by the way. I mean, I’ve seen the stuff before, obviously, but not the kitty.
Alas – no Secret Santa box has arrived … but today’s mail hasn’t been delivered yet
So I will share some completely non-Doper-related GOOD NEWS that happened, much to my total surprise – on CHRISTMAS EVE.
I got a call from my real estate broker. She just said, “Have you checked your e-mail?” No, I hadn’t – was giving myself a break from all the last-minute online Christmas sales pitches. This was around 4:30 in the afternoon.
I got a very fine CASH OFFER for my condo! I had been frantic with anxiety and depression (AND being medicated for the same), because I thought it would NEVER SELL. I had been burdened for months with paying the monthly fees, heat, electric, water, sewer, etc. etc., and meanwhile trying to keep our new big old house afloat. We were only able to actually put the condo on the market three weeks ago. (It had to be thoroughly cleaned out & repairs made, both to the condo and the garage.)
Closing date is January 30, 2015. We will then have plenty of funds to renovate
I’m having some trouble getting my e-mail to work today, but this morning I got a PM from your Secret Santa, who says your package is waiting for you at the Post Office. Can I give your SS your personal e-mail? I mean, they know where you live already, but I thought I should ask first anyway.
“Don’t blame yourself. The address is perfect. Everything else to that address arrives. In fact out postman knows us well enough that even mistakenly addressed stuff gets here. I can’t imagine what happened. :(. Don’t feel bad- you did everything right.”
I’m sure it was a lovely gift and sent with good wishes. The good wishes made it just fine.
So much for the great USPS United States Post Office “Service” ! I got no package-to-pick-up notice … yes, of course you can send my e-mail info … “All Will Be Well” or some such
And now it’s time for a happy and joyous and wonderful NEW YEAR
This was really more fun than it should have been. A huge thanks from me, too, to Silvorange, and my Santa. Folks at work thought it was pretty cool, too, when the package came and I explained the exchange. I’m enjoying some tea and lemony candies as I type.
Hip, hip, hooray for Silvorange! It’s a huge job – I did it a few years ago – and she managed to make it all happen smoothly. This is absolutely one of my favorite Doper traditions – thanks for making it happen!
