SDMB Secret Santa Gift Exchange 2014 [signup closed]

I sent my package today. It’s going overseas, so it may not be in time. To my giftee in a low lying country, please be patient!!!

Sent!
According to the guy at the post office, it should make it in time, probably.

It would have been sent yesterday, but I was running late, and got stuck behind the slowest old lady in the city, who insisted on reading all the addresses out to the nice man behind the counter, and weighed everything, even though they were just cards and she’d already put stamps on and they didn’t need weighing…

I thought it’d be against the spirit of the season to boot her out of the way, so I wound up leaving without sending it. She’d left by this morning, luckily.

Package sent overseas, with an assist by Asimovian (actually more than an assist, since he took it to the post office).

Sent!

Going overseas, post office says 4-7 business days to the country, and then however long it takes for the local post. So, hoping it gets there before Christmas.

I’m back from my conference tomorrow and will have my package sent out by the weekend!

I’m in no hurry to get my gift (well, I really am, but don’t want to put pressure on my gifter). I participated in an exchange on my dressage BB and gifts had. to. be. in. the. mail by December 1. I hated having that deadline and wished I had more time to shop.

I’m gonna get mine this weekend. I plan to send it priority mail so it’ll be sure to get there in time.

Mine is being wrapped by TheKid as I type. She begs my giftee’s pardon for the Avengers wrapping paper. Personally, I like it.
It will be delivered to the post office tomorrow.

I got my package today and since it said Perishable AND Fragile on it, of course I had to open it to make sure the contents were OK.

Aspenglow, I LOVE IT! Ok, I had no idea what it was when I opened it, but after I read the note, I LOVE IT!!! Along with some homemade toffee and biscotti, **Aspenglow **sent me a handmade pottery bread cradle and a recipe for French Bread to use it with. She made it herself! I’m very excited to give it a try and to find a nice place in my kitchen to display it!

Here is a picture. (I’m so glad there was an explanation included!)

I had a nibble on one of the biscotti and I know what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow! Wow, delicious! I can’t thank you enough for the thoughtfulness that went into your gift to me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I finished the handmade portion of my giftee’s present last night while watching the finale of Sons of Anarchy, and the portion I ordered shipped, so hopefully I will get that in the next couple of days and I will get it in the post post haste. I have flat rate boxes and can get pick-up at my front door, so rest assured it will get mailed!

Mine went in the mail today! It’s going to an undisclosed international location, so I hope it makes it by Christmas.

I got my package from carnut in the mail today!!! I got a beautiful ornament, some very timely chocolate, wild rice with a recipe I’d love to try, some Zotz, and some spiced tea. thankyouthankyouthankyou!

My package is going out this weekend. It should get to its destination by Christmas.

Hockey Monkey, I’m so happy it arrived safe and sound and that it’s something you’ll enjoy. I bake lots of bread and started making the bread cradles as a way to distribute the heat more evenly and create more of a “hearth-baked” loaf. I hope it works out well for you, too! So glad you’re enjoying your gifts!

I GOT MY GIFT TODAY!!!

Allow me to take you on a photo odyssey of the wonder that unfolds.

  1. Why, what have we here? A package addressed to me! (Note my subtle thumb placement for FairyChatMom’s privacy. I will say that she is in Maryland, where I grew up, since she’s open about that anyway.)

  2. The reverse side, where my Secret Santa is quick to disabuse me of the notion that this (soft paper) package contains beer. I posed this photo as if to say, "That’s A-OK, FairyChatMom, we’re all stocked up here!

  3. The package contains…a dark green velour bird head! But wait, there’s more: the little pink note says, “This is the wrapping - the present is inside!” (Lest I put Mr. Birdhead on my shelf as-is and let him adorn my living room for years, oblivious to the treasure within.)

  4. Unzipping the back of the head reveals OH MY GOD IS THAT HIS BRAIN?!

  5. No, it’s a completely charming knitted beanie. Let me try it on and OH MY GOD IS THAT MY BRAIN?!

(Thank you so much for the lovely gift, FairyChatMom! I adore it.)

Mine actually went in the mail today, no thanks to Troghilda, the cranky post office lady. It’s going across boarders and I was promised 6- 10 day arrival date.

I have fun things happening in the kitchen right now. They will go out tomorrow or the next day.

Glad you like it Ms.Robyn!

One Cent Stamp, that is an awesome beanie.

Wow - the USPS was way efficient! The nice lady in the Leonardtown Post Office said it would arrive Thursday, but it got there a day early!

**OneCentStamp **- just to make it clear - I didn’t mean to imply that you needed a brain or anything. It’s, um, Zombie Insurance! Yeah, that’s it! When they come for your brain, they’ll grab your hat and you can escape! Because that’s the True Meaning of Christmas!

Glad you like it!

I am going on Saturday to mail everything!!

It’s a-comin I promise

This whole post is adorable and you are a cutie.
Mine went out yesterday, shipping to the wilds of…well, West of here. I hope they enjoy!
