SDMB Secret Santa Gift Exchange 2016

Glad everything made it ok!

I know it’s a bit trite or stereotypical to just give theme park things living here, but my weekends here are 9 am to 10 pm theme parks every single weekend. So needless to say they’re pretty special to me. Also, in the off chance you didn’t notice, the ornament is from Seaworld (says on the hanger piece)

Those towels are, in fact, super interesting. When I bought it I was joking that I certainly hope you’re native to Ohio!

Mailed mine! Sorry I’ve been on deadline at work.
I received a box last night. Haven’t opened but will post tonight when I get home.

Thank you so very much, Rocking Chair (it was signed RC so I am assuming this is you).
To begin with, my box was filled with crinkle shredded paper. My cockatiel is going nuts over this stuff! Then I got a cool key Chain with the Love sculpture emblem…and omg Boston terrier socks!
I got a festive coal and a bracelet. A million thank yous! You’ve made me so happy!

Boston terrier socks!!!

It’s great reading about everyone’s Christmas gifts.

yep, it was me. i’m so glad you like it. i thought the socks were really cool. enjoy!

Baker, your "Kansas in a Box"arrived intact and Thank You so much! I greatly enjoyed the note, the postcards were lovely ( I especially liked the ones of the Legislature dome) as was the shot glass with the Helianthus; I’m not sure what the “official” booze of Kansas would be (yet) but that’ll be in there when I make the sunflower cookies with the cookie mix. I’m looking forward to listening to the CD of Christmas music, and I happen to be a big fan of unconventional so you definitely made my day!
Lastly, the chipotle BBQ sauce; that made me very happy indeed and I’ll be slow smoking some ribs with that over the Holidays.

Merry Christmas!!

So glad you liked it swampspruce!

You really made my day! Thank you again!!!

Sorry I’ve been AWOL. I just got back from vacation tonight. If you are ever in St. Louis with kids, you have to take them to the City Museum! It is the best thing ever.

I need to double check the thread to make sure my numbers are right.

You have swampspruce sending twice!

I did send stuff out twice! The first was a package, the second was Love! (There’s no barf emoji so imagine one here…)

So I was leaving for work at 3:45 this afternoon and the mailman tried to flag me down. I was in a hurry so I indicated there were people home. Moments later I was informed that a pack for me was now under the tree. So all shift long I got to wonder what it was. I’m finally home and have just opened my gift.

Thank you, Purplehorseshoe for the gorgeous, fun purple yarn! I already have ideas about what I will make with it! Thanks also for the cool post card from Dallas.

I just got woken up by the postie, and ran downstairs just in time to catch him. I’m glad I did, 'cos he had a parcel for me, and was going to bring it back later, and I’m leaving for the North in a few hours, and won’t be back til Tuesday.

It’s a lovely box of California sunshine, from Rhiannon8404; just the thing for this rotten gloomy stormy weather! There’s some delicious looking chocolates, some roasted garlic crackers (which are definitely delicious, I already tried one) some local artisan olive oils, a goldrush magnet, and the most sparkly of sparkly cards!

It battled it’s way through customs, across oceans, past postal strikes and clueless Christmas temps (I was one a few years back, I know of what I speak), and made it here with perfect timing! Thanks Rhiannon8404! I hope you have a lovely Christmas!

I cannot even tell you how thrilled I am that your gift arrived so quickly. A true Christmas miracle! The post office said at least 10 days, and it only took like 5.

I’m so happy you enjoyed the box of goodies. I had fun curating the box for you. If there’s anything you want more of, just let me know. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I think I have everything counted properly now. I do not have confirmation in this thread of gifts sent from ThisSpaceForRent, Slow Moving Vehicle, and Septima. Can you guys check in?

Not complaining; just updating - I haven’t received anything, but I left town on the 23rd, so it’s possible something is at my house. I won’t return home until late on the 26th, and will check back in if/when I receive a gift.

Merry Christmas, all!

I sent mine on the 19th, last Monday. The Post Office said six days, so it may not get to my Secret Santee until after Christmas.

Just opened my box of goodies from Hockey Monkey! Thank you, thank you! I received a very cute reindeer ornament that will be going on the tree forthwith, some yummy-looking comestibles that I will sample later, and a CD of music that looks very interesting.

Best of all is a magnificent necklace made by Hockey Monkey herself! I make jewelry, too, and this is 100% the kind of work that I do NOT do! I hate, hate, hate stringing. The design work is so much more exposed, and it is surprisingly difficult (for me, at least!) to make a multi-strand necklace that is so perfectly balanced. I love the mix of beads, too – Czech pressed glass, some lampwork, some firepolished beads, some druks, and a couple of beautiful enameled links, all in plums and purples. It is truly a gorgeous piece that I will wear with pleasure!

Wow, swampspruce, what a box! Jerky, chili-raspberry jam, a lovely mug in my namesake purple, a beautiful card, hot cocoa mix, and the obligatory candy cane tucked in to keep the other goodies company.

Looking forward to all my new snacks!

Hi Sir T-Cups, I did see that the ornament is from Sea World. I have a great love of all things marine. And I am actually not a native of Ohio, but I’ve been here almost 20 years and have no plans to leave any time soon. Mr. Askew was raised in Ohio, so it’s all good.

Actually, after seeing all the Disney presents, I was wondering if your username was a reference to a certain amusement park ride.
