I received my package today from the lovely Carnut!
I started with a wonderfully made purple and green ornament for my brand-new (and still bare) tree. I then graduated to some lovely reindeer food (aka crispy chocolate) and a wickedly fun set of dice. Each die has a picture on it and when you roll all three you’re supposed to create a story based on the pictures. This little game will make the drive to Atlanta for Christmas so much more fun and creative! Not only was it Christmas for me, but also for Mrs. Cups who will enjoy cooking some chicken and adorning it with our package of Minnesota-grown wild rice*. Last but definitely not least are not one but TWO books for me to read! One is a thriller by a local author (which makes it all the cooler!) and another telling the tale of Alan Page, a football player-turned-political figure.

*The rice is an especially funny gift because I got a bag of grits from the shot glass exchange that lasted many a week and was used for many shrimp and cheesy grits recipies. I look forward to having many rice dishes with this. Maybe I can stretch it to April and just keep eating food from you guys all year!

I have stuff to send, and meant to have it together in such a way that I could send my husband to the post office with it today, but no. Tomorrow, though!
If anyone is curious about the feline situation, I have assisted in rehoming one and possibly two kittens (the owner wants the others back). The lost cat turned out to be a declawed indoor kitty who had been stolen and dumped by a family member of the owner months ago. The owner nearly cried when she saw him again.

Awww. glad the kitty story has a happy ending. 
Update: There’s a recipie for chicken and wild rice soup on the back of the bag and Mrs. Cups is cooking that this weekend. It’s been horribly cold in Florida the last week (in the 60s! ugh!) so this will warm me right up!

I sent mine yesterday, got a tracking number and everything if needed. (The recipient may need further instructions on a couple last-minute additions, so plz feel free to ask.)
Have to add that my unemployed ass has been getting a bit (clinically) depressed now that the initial novelty of personal free time is wearing thin, and getting this package together and sent out on time was quite literally the only reason I got out of bed yesterday. It was fun to assemble, and mailing it required that whole “putting on pants and going out in public” thing.
TLDR: My morale got a little boost just from being a sendee.

OMG! I just got a ginormous box from justanothermike! I’ve opened the box and it’s full of more wrapped prezzies–wheee! Thank you so much, Mike, and for your very sweet note! I can’t wait to open them. (P.S. I’m not on Facebook, so you wouldn’t have been able to find me there.)

It has arrived and is indeed beautifully wrapped and labeled.
It was nearly a scene out of a Christmas story. Paper flying, cats jumping in and out of the box, shouts of oooh & ah.
Gummy bears! Chocolates! Maracas! Tissues! Play-doh! Burt’s bees! Brush and pan! Thanksgiving turkey!
You did very, very, well! The cats did indeed enjoy the box. Stretch attempted to nibble the lovely red tape you used on the box. What a wonderful present! Everything is fantastic and I will use it all. So fun!
