Package is sent! Should arrive Wednesday-ish.
Filbert! Today I received my favorite sort of present - lots to open and read and look at. And what a memory!
Your school looks amazing, and as a matter of fact, my family will be visiting England in June - I’ll see if we can fit it in! Our rental apartment is in London Bridge.
So, for everyone else reading this post: I got a handmade felted European robin ornament; a bundle of chocolate coins - pence and pounds!; a magnet and brochure telling me all about Filbert’s university project; a fancy bar of dark chocolate made with orange and geraniums (!); and a box of ginger fairings! I’d never heard of them before, and had to look them up. I’m still trying to determine if I like them, and have eaten three while writing this post just to be extra sure (:)). It all came in a wonderful tin and was accompanied by a handmade card. Oh! And a tiny origami swan was resting at the bottom. I love it all!
Merry Christmas to everyone, and thanks especially to **Filbert **for being the best Secret Santa one could hope for, and to Silvorange for coordinating this every year!
That was fast, from the UK, I was worried it’d be late!
I’m glad it made it there OK, I hope you decide you like the fairings, and my taste in chocolate isn’t too odd for you. The project and the area are well worth a visit, if you get the chance and fancy a bit of a change from London, so long as you avoid the terrifying back roads. If you need local advice, feel free to message me!
And yes, thanks for coordinating it all again Silvorange!
I am so, so pleased that you enjoyed my fun, random gift!! I must admit I was rather thrown by your lack of description of what you enjoy at first. But I decided to just go for it - all the while hoping that you would appreciate the Fun. I am glad you do
and the kitties as well, of course!
It’s fantastic! As a matter of fact, it fits a certiain bill: now three of us can raise a toast to a lost brother. Thank you!!! ![]()

I am grateful!!
Today on my doorstep arrived a package from the home of purplehorseshoe. I’m the impatient sort so I tore right in. She included some lovely handmade jewelry that each perfectly fit my wrist and my ankle. There was a memo pad with a kitty picture (squee, kitty), some seeds from her garden, Texas bluebonnet seeds, and a Texas shot glass.
The seeds went to my husband as he is the gardener in our relationship, but I will admire the flowers once he gets them to bloom.
I was excited to receive a shot glass as I collect them and received one from my Santa last year.
Lastly, and I hope this isn’t too strange, I think your house probably smells lovely. When I opened the cardboard sleeve holding the glass, I was greeted with a comforting, homey, slightly spicy smell. It was wonderful. Thanks for everything!
Sent my package today! Yay!
UPS said they’ll have it there by Friday, so I got in just in time…whew!
Do I have this right? It looks like we still need “sent” posts from Reepicheep, TruCelt, freckafree, and RivkahChaya. I just sent mine out yesterday and it will be late (they said 6-10 business days). Sorry!

I had some family medical stuff come up so I am delayed in getting my Santee’s package in the mail. I’ve got all the goodies, just need to get it packaged and on its way. I hope to take care of that Tuesday.
Oh! Sorry, yes, it’s been sent. Didn’t realize I was supposed to say!
I’m so glad you love it all! Everything but the dice has Minnesota in it somewhere, either made here, grown here, or having to do with someone here. The ornament comes from the senior ladies of the local Hmong community. The books were easy as I’m a reader too. Be aware that the rice is the “true” wild rice and not what the rest of the country thinks of as wild rice. It will likely take a bit longer to cook than many online recipes instruct. I confess that I liked the dice so much that I picked up a set for myself too.
Happy Hogswatch, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the rest to you Sir T-Cups, and to everyone here!
my first remark upon being handed the box, was “what lovely red tape”, things just kept getting better.
as your box arrived before st nicholas day (julian calendar) i am using that as an excuse to use items before christmas! the brush and pan has been designated for bed cleaning, the cats thought this was a whole new game. of course the cats are the reason for a dedicated bed brush!
this is why i throw myself on the mercy of the sdmb, y’all never ever disappoint.
What? Didn’t know I was supposed to post a “sent” post. It was sent a while ago.

I forgot to put my SDMB name on my package, whoopsie!
Why the hell is the dog barking? Oh, a box at the door.
Wait, who the hell is sending stuff from … Oh! My doper santa!
Sir T-Cups sent a pretty dolphin ornament of swirly blue glass (promptly hung in window to catch the sunlight) and a nifty crafts set (for quilling flora & fauna) which pings several of my quirks.
I love critters and plants & truly enjoy tiny fiddly handmade crafts … and was juuuuuust thinking about a new art project! Howdya know??
There’s also a pair of local handmade marshmallows (one with rose wine & one with fireball whiskey) which is just the coolest surprise. I set the boxes where I see them constantly so I can keep delighting myself … until I inevitably give in & devour both. Soon my little pretties. Sooooon.
Holy hell you got them all already?!? I sent those on Saturday and they said it’d be there by Friday. Good on ya UPS.
I’m glad you enjoyed everything, but I can’t take too much credit because most of the things were Mrs. Cups’ idea. She suggested the marshmallows as our “local thing” (but I picked the flavors!) and she also was the one who found the kit when we were out shopping for you. “You said she likes Flora and Fauna right? And being crafty? Check this out!” I pretty much can’t function without her. She wrapped, too ![]()
That all being said, I’m glad you like everything and I’m glad everything came in one piece. Have fun with them.
I did too, but it’ll be the package from America.
USPS reports that my package has been delivered!
Mine should be out for delivery today!
Your Bed Brush has the soul (and pattern) of a wild cat. It seems like the perfect use for it!
