Secret Santa 2002!

The bride and I bought our respective Secret Santa gifts this weekend on a jaunt to the Keys. Gotta love Christmas Shopping in that atmosphere, it kicks the Miami pace’s butt all over the room. Anyway, we (Geobabe) wrapped last night, and I put my giftee’s gift, all wrapped nice and pretty, on the floor, as we were using the table to wrap. My cat threw up on it this morning. Sorry.

And also, I GOT MINE!!!

To get an accurate picture of that, please head to the Pit and check out the “Will Somebody Please Stop the Farting”. That’s me in a nutshell, I’m afraid…

Glad you got it & glad you liked it!!!

I got my gift ready last night and in the mail at lunch today. I sent it priority so it should get there before Christmas.

I want my giftee to be aware that my Mom helped with his present. So he will know who else to thank! I hope you like it!

Ok, since it’s Monday and I sent mine off about a week and a half ago (and it went priority, and should have been there long since…and e-mail is disabled in my giftee’s profile)OxyMoron, did you get a package? (I’m not worried about whether it’s been opened or not, just that it got there).

Box of prezzies has been sent - thanks to Kal for taking it to the post office. Eagerly awaiting reply from giftee. Hope you enjoy it!!

My manager sent me home from work because my sniffling and coughing was annoying everyone. I was feeling pretty draggy, but there in the mailbox was my gift from cjhoworth, a Doper I admire greatly. I got some juggling scarves and a mini-Slinky. I am really going to try to learn to juggle, and the Slinky is mine mine mine (my previous one was destroyed by children).

cj, The note that accompanied the Slinky inspired me to open my first SDMB thread, “inadequately rewarded endeavors”: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=150820
Perhaps you will post your Slinky story to it so that my first thread will have at least one response.

baker: Anonymity seems to be shot. I’m your Santa. No need to search.

I waited in the long, torturous line at the Post Office today to dispatch my gift Priority Mail - recipient should have it by the end of the week. It’s going less than 500 miles…

I’ve not received mine yet, and I don’t say this to nag, but if it had been sent, it has not yet arrived. I don’t plan to delay gratification, either. When it arrives, I’ll be tearing into it.

I didn’t even realize there were wish lists being posted, and now it’s probably too late. Oh well, I hope whoever it is guesses right (shouldn’t be too hard from my profile and posts).
And my gift has been received by someone on this thread already, but I’m not saying who, but they seem to like it, and that’s making me all smiley

Well, guess what I got today? A package slip from the USPS. I’m pretty sure that it’s from my Secret Santa, as I’m not expecting any other packages at the moment. I’ll find out tomorrow, if I make it to the post office before closing.

Lainaf, your wish is my command.

CJ

“I got my package Saturday.”

Wow! That was quick!

“I didn’t even attempt to wait until Christmas to open it. It’s coffee!!! Whoever you are, I love you! Ok, not really, but I really, really like it. I’m saving it for Christmas because my best friend loves hazlenut coffee and my boyfriend wants the swiss chocolate almond. My favorite is irish cream, so your choices were perfect.”

WHEEEEE!!! That makes me VERY happy! Glad you liked it!

OK - my gift is wrapped and out the door today! I hope my person gets it before Christmas. Though I am a tad bit worried, they haven’t posted in about a month. :frowning:

Hmmmmmm…cat vomit.

a package will be winging it’s way on dec 19th. fed ex is my friend. forget a sleigh, santa arrives in a fed ex truck.

I mailed mine yesterday, it will be there before the end of the week. You’ll have to guess cause I’m not telling.

Well, I know that my person got the gift, and that they opened it and liked it, but I think that they think I’m someone else!
I got a postcard yesterday, at my address, but directed to someone with a different username, thanking me for the gift.

Was that postcard from me? If so, there was some kind of mix up, because my SS had a completely different username…and their gift to me came from a different address from the one I was given.

Thanks Ms Robyn!

I nominate Ms Robyn for Santa of the Year 2002.

She found me a rare copy of the 1955 version of "The Clue in the Embers. I never expected my gift giver to really come up with this when I listed it as a wish a few weeks ago. Awesome. My pre-1960 Hardy Boys Detective Stories collection is now only 1 book away from completion-- and I hadn’t been able to find either of the two missing books anywhere in the last two years of searching.

And, to top it all off, this particular used book came with an inscription inside the cover from the original purchaser wishing another giftee a Merry Christmas 44 years ago. So my Santa gift is a Christmas present for the second time over four decades later. Excellent.

Oh, my God, Scotticher, these are gorgeous! Did you make them yourself?

I got 2 presents in my package. First, a pewter dragon on an amythyst (purple) crystal base. And second, a packet labeled “Dragon Cards, All Occasion” with the most beautiful handmade-looking cards–“You’re Special”, “Thank You”, “Birthday” and blank, each category bundled together with white tuling (sp?). And I think they’re scented, too (or else I’m starting to experience olfactory hallunications  ) And a Gelly Roll pen. (Note: the same sort of card was used as the gift card, only with a Peace dove on the front and a Christmas message inside.)

Thank you for the wonderful gift, Cheri.

[sub]Now I’m getting a sniffly and teary-eyed.[/sub]

I can say with finality the two Secret Santa packages from the GeoBill home are packed, wrapped, packed again, and labelled, and they will be in the capable hands of our country’s shipping professionals tomorrow before noon.
