Well, dang it, she got a package with no name on it, and I didn’t want her to think that (a) that was the entire present, and (b) that the sender didn’t identify himself. Also (c) I was late through my own stupidity, and got the gifts there after Christmas, which kinda obviates the need for surprise anyway.
(((hugs))) you are NOT an idiot !! I actually LOVE the candles all by themselves, thy are the best smelling ones I have encountered ! I have been burning one anytime I am at my desk.
Now I am all excited to see the other 2 gifts !! Whee !!!
I got my second present the other day in the mail. It’s a Judas Priest onsie, which will look great on my kid in a couple of weeks when she comes out. I think she’ll be wearing it home. If Iris lets me that is.
I wanted to check in here too, before I go take a nappie poo.
Yes, my present was present and accounted for. Thank you Creaky! You’ve made Zen one happy pup. The collar fits perfectly and the toy, well, lets just say that it’s already seen better days. Sadly for him, he had to share his treats with his half-sister Sagan, but I’m assuming he got over it when there was a sliver of cheesecake to be had. (Don’t hit me miss Tonya – it was only fair with those big brown eyes!)
I’m glad that you liked yours Siege. The goal was to confuse, confound and keep busy endlessly. Surely I accomplished at least one. :o Just be careful operating (heh) some of those so-called bath items. One could throw out their back, doncha know.
Last but definitely not least, I wanted to add my thanks to anyrose for that positive energy. It was a good thing to have when faced with constant re-runs of Elf. I hope it’s ok that I now hate Will Ferrell, although the tights weren’t bad.
picunurse, thank you, thank you, thank you, for all the wonderful gifts. I recieved five (yes, five) awesome gifts from you plus what is undoubtably the prettiest Christmas card a have ever seen.
For my fellow Dopers, may I present my big pile o’ swag
First, I’d like to show the beautiful photo of Mount Rainier on the card that picunurse sent me.
Gift #1 is a landscape painted by none other than our, picunurse. Isn’t it great?
Gift #2 is another craft done by picunurse (isn’t she talented?). Stained glass! How frickin’ cool is that?
Again, thank you, picunurse for the wonderful, thoughtful gifts. I love them all, but I am especially enamored with the stained glass. That is sooo neat. Is it difficult to do? How expensive is it?
I finally managed to go pick up my package at the post office today! (They tried to deliver it on Friday but that was my mad-rush last-minute shopping day and I was running around until 9 pm that day.)
It’s from Siege!
I got a card with a Japanese print on the front, and lots of nice things written inside. And a red, green and yellow yarn potholder (did you make that?).
Also a Rubik’s Cube and a Simpson’s Rubik’s Cube and a little red dragon and a little purple top and 2 baby Slinkies (okay, “Mini Magic Springs”, but everyone knows that means “baby Slinky”) and…lots and lots of chocolate chip cookies. I was very tempted to have a dinner made up exclusively of chocolate chip cookies, but I was good and had a sandwich first.
Thanks so much, Siege!
plays with “Mini Magic Spring” and sings the Slinky song
Glad you liked it, gfloyd! It wasn’t local, and it wasn’t purple, but it’ll still take up a spot on your empty shelves.
Kat, have you received the package I sent you? I’ve no idea how long homemade chocolate chip cookies are good for! (Don’t worry, if you haven’t received it, there are other surprises in the box.)
As for you, faithfool, you managed to confuse, confound and keep two people busy! You see, the gentleman wouldn’t lend me a knife to cut through the duct tape. As one thing after another surfaced from the box, he looked at me and said “You’d better get your person something good!” and was generally amazed at all the stuff. As of right now, your Texas boot is the sole ornament on my Christmas tree (I got a little behind this year), and I may keep some of your notes for reminders on days which aren’t quite so bright. You gave me beauty, joy, and delight, not to mention good music and interesting reading! What more could a person wish for at Christmas?
You remain very much in my thoughts and prayers; you’ve got my e-mail address, and, if you need a shoulder to lean on, it’s yours. I also hoped you enjoyed Harry Potter and the Naked Quidditch Match! I’ve always found it wonderfully funny and twisted!
Foxwoof was for hanging on the christmas tree…I think. I liked it though.
I didn’t have a computer for a long time, so I didn’t get a chance to say thank you to Starving But Strong for my pretty pen and my ethnic bag, they were gorgeous! I’m using my pen for work, and everybody is jealous!

I’m glad you liked them, Kat. You did, after all, ask for something fun, and I’ve never been able to resist tinkering with a Rubik’s Cube. You also did say something about how “homemade chocolate chip cookies would be very good!”
