Secret Santa 2006

No gift has arrived for me yet, but I’m hopeful that it will turn up this week.

Actually it got here today.

I GOT AN AERO BAR!!!

I love Aero Bars so I’m very very happy with that.
Let’s see,

Tea - excellent.
Chai and Green - my two favorites, even better

Some very dark wild rice - cool. I love rice and the white crap in the cabinet is getting old fast.

Pure Canadian Maple Syrup…Yay!!! I am a maple syrup addict. I normally only get Vermont (being that I live about 45 minutes from Vermont) but I’ve always wanted to taste Canadian. Since I’m having Chinese for dinner, I’ll get to try it out (I did taste a bit on my finger and it’s very very good). Maple syrup tastes really good on chicken teriyaki and crab rangoons.
Thank you so much **Canadiangirl. ** You picked some awesome stuff for me.

As for the syrup, my boyfriend also says thank you because he loves it as well (not as much as I do though). And, it was perfect timing because I just ran out 2 days ago.

Y’all are makin’ me as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockin’ chairs!

I kept a list of who got paired with whom and so far everyone who’s posted that their gift hasn’t arrived has a Secret Santa, so do not despair, mah chirrun!

To those last-minute or international-shipping folks though, it might be nice come Christmas Eve to let your giftee know that something is on the way, even though it might arrive a bit late.

Thanks

Quasi

I’m very happy you like it so much - and for the record - I didn’t go over, really, as a frequent buyer, they gave me an additional discount

Mine has arrived! My husband had to hike down to the Post Office as our drive is iced over and the Postal Guy won’t come to the top of the hill. Annie-Xmas sent a very cute NY themed package with an I heart NY fridge magnet, a white teddy bear in a Christmas In New York gift bag, a wonderful cd of Christmas songs performed by the casts of 16 musicals, and a great card with a Phantom mask on a Christmas stocking, I love it! I have downloaded the cd to my iTunes and have really enjoyed singing along with the songs I know, and learning the songs I didn’t. What fun, and thank you Annie-Xmas!

congodwarf: I’m very glad you liked it…I was afraid the syrup wouldn’t make it intact!

I love aero bars too…especially dipped in hot tea so the outside melts then you just lick that off, then do it again.

I’m glad you like the rice - just a tip - it has to be cooked a lot longer than the icky white stuff…give it a rinse before you toss it in a pot.

Lynn (Canadiangirl)

All right - I’m finally here to post some info. I did receive my gift, and since I have no patience, opened it right away. It is a very cute angel kitty statue titled “Curiosity” from phall0106. (If you want to see it, go here.) He will go up on the bookshelf for sure!

I am a very late Santa this year. However, my “sleigh” left last night for Philadelphia via Priority Mail. It’s supposed to be there in two days. We’ll see!

(bolding mine)

Sounds like the perfectly appropriate gift!

perks up

I love his stuff! I have the nativity set which features quilt patterns on everyone’s robes, and I gave one to my mom as well. And I have the big fall pumpkin I put out at Thanksgiving. And a star tree ornament.

I’mn not sure what’s up with those prices, I probably paid half that even at Hallmark.

I think these may be my next acquisition.

You guessed it!

wiggles delightedly

My giftee should have received their Secret Santa box days ago… No post yet, though.

Nothing in the mail for lil’ ol’ me, as of yet. Maybe today!

I’ve had two false alarms now. Yesterday, I heard the Fedex truck (squeaky breaks are a dead giveaway), then heard the doorbell. Sprinted for the front door, but it was a package for my mother.

This morning, the doorbell rang while I was still in bed. I threw on a bathrobe, dashed down the stairs- it must be the package! And it was my neighbor, wanting to borrow the spare key to her house that we have, as she’d locked herself out.

I love the excitement of Christmastime!

I just wanted to say thank you again. My hair looked damned good this morning.

False alarm today. There was a box with an unfamiliar return address waiting when I got home, but it was a gift from my ex-brother-in-law, who’d shipped it from his new girlfriend’s work place. :frowning:

To my still-Secret Santa – I confirmed with the folks at home last night that, yes, there’s a mystery package from America awaiting my imminent arrival! I’m flying home tonight, and maybe I’ll see if I can wait til Christmas Day to open it!

As I last posted, I mailed my Secret Santa gift on Monday and the Post Office lady told me it should get to its destination in a week, so I’m hoping it gets to my recipient by Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas. It’s a-comin’!

Got it! And since I am seven years old when it comes to presents, I’ve already opened it. A very nice journal and three pairs of socks, both in my favorite colors!

I love them, thank you so much!!

Well, imagine my surprise this afternoon when I opened up the door and found a FedEx package sitting out in the hall!

I did have the patience to wait until I’d gone downstairs and put my laundry in before I opened it.

I got:
Aunty’s Chocolate Fudge steamed puddings
homemade chocolate-frosted cookies (er…these got a little smashed up in transit)
homemade brownies
4 packs of Land O Lakes Cocoa Classics in different flavors
Cocoa Spice Yogi Tea
a little box of chocolate candies from The Cookie Jar
4 Dove dark chocolate Promises and 4 Hershey’s dark chocolate Kisses

It appears that my Secret Santa somehow psychically deduced that I have a fondness for chocolate.

Thanks, Tamryne!!
