Secret Santa 2006

Oops, I forgot to add what I might like. I collect cows, which includes things that are just cow print. Also, anything specific to the giver’s hometown would be neat too. I’m easy to please.

I am definitely in - email has been sent, and a big Thank You to Quasimodem for offering to do Secret Santa - YAY!

I collect coffee mugs and beanie baby-type stuffed animals; I also like dishes or containers for holding jewelry - kitschy is good. I LOVE all things chocolate (dark is my favorite). My favorite color is blue and I’m always in need of inexpensive earrings - hoops or fish-hooks only (most post earrings won’t fit through my earlobes!): I especially like having holiday-themed earrings! Home-made is great, btw.

Woo hoo, holiday season 2006 is off and running!

OK… the email has left the building…

My first and most favorite thing would be to get something representing wherever you’re from. I also like pens, markers, doodle pads, coloring or activity books, puzzle books, ANY kind of books imaginable, flower starts from your garden (ok…not the right time of year), a Christmas ornament/decoration that would be special to you or your hometown, rocks (yes, rocks and minerals that are indigenious to your area) and…um…surprises!

::does the happy dance::

:o :o :o After a compliment like that, I’d better jump in!

I like games and puzzles (I’m more of a kakuro addict than a sudoku one), floral-scented bath stuff and candles, mysteries and science fiction, and curiosities in general. I’m also very much into knitting.

WhyNot, I’m with you. There are a bunch of people on this list I’d like to give things to. Once again, I’m looking forward to this!

Quasimodem, thanks for all your hard work in arranging this.

Me, too! Me, too!

I’m a total funky jewelry slut and I collect teeny-weeny cat figurines. Cat stuff in general is good. Handmade anything would be really cool.

Oo, oo, me, me!

Same as previous years: something peculiar to where you’re from would be really cool. For example, a few years ago, I got a Sunday edition of the New York Times with post-it commentary! Awesome.

Bump

(Hope that’s allowed? If not, tell me, okay?)

A special thanks to those who have indicated you’re okay with international shipping, because international postage is a mutha!

Just shipped a Christmas package to family members I will miss seeing on my upcoming trip home, and the charge was about as much as the stuff inside the box! Could have taken it with me, and mailed it from over there, but I’m taking a motorcycle saddle over for a friend, and that’s my baggage allowance.

Thanks

Q

I’m in. Tell me who and what.

Thanks,
Creaky

when will you be doling out names?

The evening of December 5th, anyrose, and I will be doing it from my hometown, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, in Bavaria.

If anyone has ever visited Rothenburg, then you will know this store:

https://shop.wohlfahrt.com

This isn’t an advert, and I am not affiliated with KW in any way, but if any of you have ever been to Rothenburg, you might have visited her store.

Anyway, I will be sitting in front of my friend Peter’s computer, drinking a cup of “Glühwein” providing y’all with your Secret Santa contacts, and listening to German Christmas music as I do it!

Looking forward to a great holiday with my SDMB buds.

Q

Email will be sent momentarily! I had fun last year, and was wondering if the Secret Santa was happening this year. I can ship international if you need another person.

Im getting an apartment, so anything cute and quirky would be great. I also love chocolate and coffee, and absolutely adore candles. Anything fantasy-themed is a good bet too, especially dragons or unicorns.

I’m in, secret Santas are fun.

Dragons are always welcome. Tiggers, too! I love oolong teas, and herbal teas with hibiscus in them. Favorite colors are purple and dark blue-reds. I love funky jewelry. I like caramels and licorice (not the really salty kind, though.) Citrus-y or fresh/clean scents for smelly things.

Really, though, I just like getting things in the mail!

I’m in.

I’m 26, Female.
Things I like:
Reading. I’m almost done with the Redwall series and am looking for my next series. I’m planning on either starting Discworld or I’ll finally start on my goal of reading the history of every Country in the world.

Tea and making soup.

Cool pens and unusual chunky jewlery (preferably neutral colors).

Unusual gifts specific to an area.

I do not have a family appropriate requirement. No kids here, only two adults with very dirty minds.

I like surprises (mayhaps I shouldn’t have put this after the last comment?).

I do not like scented things - candles, potpourri, perfume - ugh.

I’m not a big fan of chocolate, unless it’s the hot chocolate variety (or those Aero thingies I got in the US-Canada candy exchange).

Mostly, I like surprises. My best SS exchange gift ever was a book I never would have bought for myself. I laughed so hard that I hurt for days. So, surprises good.

I can’t wait! I’m so excited. My vacation is 12/1 to 12/6 so this will be perfect timing. I’ll actually have time to shop and go to the PO.

E mail is in.
I’m a guy (duh)
Books or automotive related stuff is always good.
Other than that feel free to surprise me.

OK - I just sent the email to sign-up…

Here are some of the things people can please me with;
Cookbooks
Chocolate
A nice big coffeemug

So Quasi, how many people so far?

Oh, go on then, you twisted my arm. I’m in…for the international crowd!

I’m not giving away any clues about what I like, 'cos I like surprises…

(slight hijack)Quasi, I’m red and green with jealousy. The Kathy Wohlfahrt store is one of my favorites! I’ll be thinking of you this Christmas season.

OK. I’m in and the e-mail is on the way.

I’d be happy to take anything that my SS thinks is fun, weird or meaningful for them. No limits (no kids or family around to shock).

Thalion
