Secret Santa bragging thread.

Wow! that was fast. I just mailed it monday. The scarf was only my third attempt at knitting. Hint: use fuzzy yarn to hide all flaws.

Excepting our city council and Fred Phelps, you wouldn’t believe how Goofy-less our fair city is. By pure luck I spied an entire case of glow-in-the-dark Goofys and just couldn’t resist (at $2 off at the register no less!) Yay for Big K! On the way back from the post office I realized that I had said in the card that I included the receipt for the book in case you already had it only to find it was still in my coat pocket. Glad you don’t already have a copy!

I was visiting another Doper in Iowa when I mailed it so that would explain the odd difference in the postmark vs. return address. Big thanks to the misstee for helping me decorate the outside of the package. Merry Christmas, luluBahrain!

DeVena, you are most welcome. I enjoyed getting your prezzies together very much, and was very happy to see that Fannie May isn’t in your area.

Now, that shot glass is just a souvenir, mind you. I don’t in any way expect that you’ll be using it.

Ummm no - not using the shot glass for tequila at all. Nope not me.

And these candies ?? The coconut crusted dark chocolate truffle is fabulous - I’m rationing the rest (and hiding them. They’re mine - mine I tells ya!)

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

Dave, you are most welcome. I am just doing my part to helping you get it up…eh…wake up…

**Coffee, the mental Viagara. **

SnoopyFan I got my present a couple of days ago and meant to wait 'til Christmas to open it, but Mom egged me on to open it (used to be I was the one who couldn’t wait, oh how the tables turn). It is so cute. It is a cat on a pendulum “chasing” mice who are playing in a clock. I love it and have put it on my bookcase. [sub]Mom loved it too[/sub]

You got it ALREADY!!! You’re kidding!!! They just shipped it from Vermont on Monday!!!

Wow, cool!

I’m glad you liked it  I had to do some homework on you (I almost sent you a necklace and now I’m sooo glad I went through your old posts first) and I saw that you had a cat so I was hoping I chose well.

I’m sitting in my living room eating a late lunch and I hear a thud on my front porch.

“What could that be,” I thought as I went to the front door. “The mail has already run today.”

I open my door and look down and see a package from Jodi.

“Yayyyyyy!” I think to myself as I rush inside to open it (yeah, like I’m going to wait until Christmas Day). My 3 year old looks at me with interest and says “A present? FOR ME!!!”

Jodi your gift was so awesome! I got the best of all 3 worlds, people:

Chocolate

A candle (vanilla, which is the only flavor me and MrSnoopy can agree on)

A snowglobe with a Washington black bear! (I collect snowglobes, sort of)

And I love the box it came in, it’s so pretty! I’m going to save it and put something cool in it!

Thank you!!!

Glad you liked the hat, Hugh Jass. (yup, it’s just a “hat”. Marines where “covers” and sailors where “headgear”. We wear hats :] )
I thought it would be a cool little nic-nac at least. And it is Sergeant Major rank. The SDMB Tab is where a Ranger Tab would be.
The Ornament is of Airborne Jump Wings. I figure after it’s done being an ornament, you could replace the red ribbon with yellow, and hang it up to Support the Troops. I looked all over for a little yellow ribbon to replace the red one, but I couldn’t find one.

BTW, what gave me away?

Still haven’t got my present yet. I know who my Santa is though, so I know I’ll LOVE it!

so.

There I was, fixing up the baby’s room. I have placed all my collection of Boston Terrier stuff in there, you see, and I thought to myself, “Self, You know what I need in here is a calendar so that I can keep track of Dr. appointments and such”
and I agreed,“yes, Self, we really should do that”.

…and a few days passed.

Today I checked in the mail and saw that I got my super duper secret santa package. WOO!

and I open it (because a) I’ll be kinda busy at the hospital around that time and b) who am I kidding I can’t resist surprises!

and guess what?

I kid you not. My super duper secret santa sent me a calendar.

no wait. it gets BETTER.

A calander of … BOSTON TERRIERS!
and cute widdle baby ones at that.

Dearest luluBahrain, you really, really made my day!

Thank you so very much!
(and the baby says thank you, too!)

My Santa gift went out today. All finished up, wrapped up, and sent…should get it Saturday, giftee!

My package arrived today–very cute Merriwether Lewis, William Clark and Sacagawea bears, complete with details like ML initials on his scabbard and a papoose carried on Sacagawea’s back.

The only problem is that my cagey doper secret Santa refused to identify him/herself. The hints are that this present is representative of the region and that the box was mailed in Montana (which is cool in and of itself, as I have never gotten anything from Montana).

Thanks to my Secret Santa, and thanks to you, I am now on the lookout for MT dopers.

Sweeeeeet!!

I gots me some grits, and two cool t-shirts!! One black, long sleeved shirt from the Dead Dog Saloon, and one white one from the “SBB” Bar, both from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina!! These kick ass!!

The best part, is that I can ‘sneak’ the long-sleeved Dead Dog t-shirt underneath my uniform!

Tripler
C3, you rock!!

Bad News Baboon

I’m so glad you liked it. And it’s great that it goes along with your decorations in the baby room. I was so worried you’d be disappointed. But you like it, you really like it. Merry Christmas!!!

Well, I noticed my relationship with the name I was given, so I figured that my santa had the same relationship. So I did a search on your name to read your posts to see what kind of person you are. And somewhere, either in your profile, or in your posts, you mentioned the military. And the return address was Fayetteville, a military town. And then the stuff…

Is that creepy?

I got mine today, and I couldn’t wait to open up the package. And there were two smaller wrapped gifts inside, one cube and one triangular, and a card with a band of paper around it reading “Spoilers inside!” I was able to bring myself under control enough to hold off on opening the gifts until I could log on to the board.

So here goes:
Opening the triangular package first.
removes yellow bow and sticks it to monitor
The paper is red with round Christmas tree ornaments on it, by the way, on both gifts.
The suspence is terrible…I hope it lasts…
rips off paper
It’s a Jr. Tangle Braid Sparkle Puzzle. I’ve seen one of these somewhere. They’re fun to play with!
removes yellow bow from cubic gift and sticks to monitor
rips off paper
It’s a gyroscope. According to the description and the little pictures on the box, I can spin it on its pedestal, make it dance on a string tightrope and balance it on the lip of a drinking glass!

opens card
The card has a really pretty picture of a snowy forest on the front, with a couple of birds flying above the trees, by the way.

This is from Erika, who says:

Thanks, Erika! These are just the sort of toys that I need to enjoy my second childhood!

Hey, SNOOPYFAN, glad you liked the stuff. Have a great Christmas.

Umm…I got a second Secret SDMB Santa gift today…anybody else got 2 prezzies from apparently 2 different dopers?

I kind of feel guilty now since I only mailed out a prezzie to one person…

BTW - I got a cute coffeemug…the box it came in had a sticker on it that reads:
“Fishs Eddy - 2004 stright ahead, enjoy the ride”
Can someone explain this to me?

I came home last night to a suspicious package from Edward the Head.

Inside was a wrapped package. I opened it. There was more wrapping. I opened it. There was MORE wrapping. I opened that to find…

…a gorgeous calendar of Ireland! Thanks so much, Edward! How did you know I’m planning a trip to Ireland in the summer?

my boyfriend’s comment as I was opening “Does he have stock in a wrapping paper company?”

I loved the multiple wrapping. Haven’t had anyone do that since I was a kid!

Thanks so much!

Glad you like them! The SBB Bar is actually called “Suck Bang Blow” but since some of the more prudish locals got in a bit of a tizzy, they’ve started being more discreet. It’s a biker bar where you can do burnouts inside the bar. Cool place.
