The whole reason for the topic ban is because people have no self control and need you guys to protect them from the one thread or so a decade that Shagnasty was creating on the subject he’s banned from creating threads on.

Yeah. I mean, I wouldn’t say it quite that way, but he’s got a point. If people could just ignore Shaggy, then they would have done so and you wouldn’t have needed to do anything. Hell, trolling wouldn’t even be a problem here.
Of course, if he is still allowed to troll people, they will continue to feed him. This is why “Do not feed the troll” sounds great in theory but never actually works.
And, as other posters said, he’s already close to cracking, and a lot of people want him gone. Antagonizing him to get him to break the rules is a time-tested technique to get rid of posters here. Isn’t that why you usually do a full topic ban (not just a thread start ban) and also forbid people from antagonizing them about it?
(Hence why I wouldn’t say quite what octopus said. There’s strategy here. Leaving him alone doesn’t get rid of him.)

What’s the difference between that and trolling?
None. I certainly don’t want BigT banned, but he is pro violence and pro outing when it serves his political interests. Shaggy is a train wreck but its moronic to think anything he has said is worthy of banning. People seem to enjoy engaging with him. He sadly gets traffic to the site.
But…there is blatant threats. Don’t forget that.
I don’t actually think he’s trolling. I think he honestly thinks his stories sound cool and make him look like a player. To me, they don’t ring true, and even if they were 100% true, they make him look like sad and pathetic and overly impressed by the same things he was when he was 15.
I mean, just one little datapoint, even if the Russian lady exists and really was wearing a $7k bracelet (I think that was the number), does anyone really want to hang out with the kind of classless douche that would tell you the price tag of her very expensive bracelet on the first date? For someone so obsessed with class and status, that’s an incredibly low-class thing to tolerate. Most people would probably either think she was embarrassingly gauche or start wondering if she was full of shit and pulling some kind of scam. Not Shags. In his mind, that makes her appealing and worthy of bragging about here.

Thank you. If it makes anyone feel any better, I think she trolled me in real life as well. Players often run into other players that are better than they are and you can have the tables turned. She is definitely real and I still think it was worth it but you can’t just go out with someone that freely admits to taking her ex-spouse to the cleaners and wanted me to take her to one of the most expensive resorts in the Caribbean next month. I respect her gold-digging because at least she was blatant about it. It only cost me a couple of thousand dollars and she is porn star incredible in bed. However, someone else is going to have to support her financially and she will ultimately break them too. It just isn’t going to be me. I already screwed her at the introductory rate. I don’t need a subscription.
The trolling only started when nobody thought that he could even be at the level of the cheap superficial douche he admires enough to pretend to be. No doubt he’s really someone who would be impressed by the cost of a bracelet and talk about it a lot. He comes across as a bombastic douche even while he thinks he is dazzling everyone with tales of his gold plated lifestyle - it’s like Trump in a room full of authentically smart and successful people. But the *really *sad thing is even the gold plating isn’t true.
But somewhere a while back a switch flipped and he realized people weren’t buying it but he could piss them off if he took it up a notch on the woman hating.
That is the part you aren’t getting. I don’t hate women. Not even close. I love most of them and dedicate my life to people like my mother and daughters. I do hate bitches and gold-diggers though and I will actively work to take them down.
Many men are just plain assholes. That is just a given and I completely agree. The thing that some people don’t understand is that just adding a vagina into the mix doesn’t take that away. Many women are horrible people as well. There is nothing inherently honorable about having boobs.
You just have to sort them out one by one.
