Shame on those that refuse the vaccine

Many times, the family won’t want covid even listed on the death certificate.

"Dad was a crisis actor! He was never actually real!!!11!

Not new.

Shut. Up. I’m so done with people. Good lord.
::flips desk and storms out::

We’re doomed, aren’t we?

Take a scroll through the HermanCainAward subreddit, slideshows of anti-vaxxer postings starting with clever anti-vax/mask memes followed by family updates on their hospitalization and death from Covid. I think I saw Kristen there, but it’s hard to remember because there are so many and they are all so similar. But somehow a visit there helps dissipate the rage these people inspire.

The latest conspiracy theory is that Covid doesn’t kill, hospitals do. Apparently hospitals are killing people maliciously by putting them on ventilators instead of deworming them.

Yep, from the FB comments on the local news sources, they’ve now pivoted to:

  • They aren’t using early interventions that work
  • And any time someone dies “what were their comorbities?”

It’s not the rona, it’s the diabeetus.

Here are a couple brand recent comments:

Fuck ALL Y’ALL vaccine “skeptics”. You are killing us. You are fucking trash! If there is a god, you aren’t getting through those pearly gates.

I really feel like “clever” should be in sarcasti-quotes here. I’ve looked at a lot of the Herman Cain Awards posts, and their memes are only “clever” by the standards of stupid fucking plague rats.

A recent Twitter post by a prominent antivaxer linked to a story about an unvaccinated nurse who died of Covid-19 in the hospital.

Without any evidence of how she was treated, this guy spun the story as being an unnecessary death due to lack of early administration of one or more of the “miracle” drugs like ivermectin.

This same nitwit triumphantly linked to a WHO website which listed ivermectin as a drug of key importance. Which it is - for parasitic infections.

Let’s do a cost-benefit analysis here.

Cost of vaccination: $0. Yeah, the feds are paying for the vaccine and the administration, meaning you’re paying for it indirectly through your taxes. (but, hey, look at it this way - you’re already paying for it, might as well use it!)

Cost of “miracle drugs”: > $0 for the drug (I’m assuming ivermectin is relatively cheap, but I may be wrong) + ICU room (if available) + doctors fees.

Get the damned shot.

I hear apple flavor is a bit more pricey . . . but worth it!

Looks like the human version is $3-$5 per standard dose. Haven’t heard anything so far about shortages or price gouging.

Shortages of ivermectin have been cropping up around the U.S. this month. Horse owners have been affected. Pharmacies have run out.

From the N.Y. Times:

“Prescriptions for ivermectin have seen a sharp rise in recent weeks, jumping to more than 88,000 per week in mid-August from a prepandemic baseline average of 3,600 per week, according to researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

Beyond prescriptions, OTC sales of ivermectin from feed stores and the like have been booming.

It’s been reported that a single tablet of ivermectin has been selling for as high as the equivalent of $34.25 U.S., in South Africa.

Manufacturer Merck must be rolling in dough, even as it discourages human use of ivermectin to treat Covid-19. Those of us in the know, of course, realize that Merck is downplaying ivermectin because it has far more lucrative anti-Covid-19 drugs in the pipeline. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thanks!

There are three feed and grain stores within an hour drive from my home in central AZ where cattle are king. Because I like to point and laugh, I have kept an eye on the ivermection stock in those stores. About a month ago, prices doubled and starting about three weeks ago there has been none to be found. Even the sheep dip is gone.

Just a very small data point in a large country, but interesting. I live in the land of idiots and sometimes think I don’t drink enough.

Kittens. You need more kittens. We all do. Drinks too, for those who can.

I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. There are a lot of people bringing up comorbidities who are not really interested in cormorbidities as much as they want to believe that THEY are immune because they don’t have whatever…these are frightened people - frightened of both the virus and the vaccine and they are looking for some way to avoid both.

I don’t know any way to get through this wall of fear and reach these people.

I’m really curious what percentage of the US population doesn’t have at least one comorbidity.

Also, if you add kittens to a shaken drink you need to double strain.
