LOVED this episode! A transplant, a stolen kidney, death’s door, a hideous wedding gown…and he’s got another chance! Fiona going full on Frank, Lip finally getting a heart when it comes to his sister, Debbie’s shiv, Carl on a rampage, his new friend’s family is homeless, no wonder she’s expert at true crime, and Mickey and Ian trying to do the right thing for Mandy…
Then you got Mickey threatening Kevin and my heart stopped when the rifle went off
This felt like the season finale, I don’t know how they’re going to top this in the final two episodes… great entertainment.
I feel like they’re setting us up for someone dying but dancing around who it is.
Frank’s dead. No he’s not.
Gun goes off. V and the babies are fine.
Fiona falls off a table at a party. Lives.
Ian brings a knife right up to Kenyatta’s throat. Puts it down (and he and Mickey leave the stupid knife there, with the abusive boyfriend).
Some good stuff, but thus was a frustrating episode.
I thought the organ transplant might be a scam–the donor guy’s protest right before being put under is interesting in hindsight. I think Sheila’s niceness to him made him want to back out of the scam at the last minute.
I’m hoping Mickey cools down with Kev–especially after having to calm down Ian.
LOL The Doctor “catching a cab” then driving away in it seemed like a tip off, but the girls were so desperate to keep Frank alive that they just ignored the red flags, and I didn’t see it so much as a tip off because more and more trained professionals have to drive cabs, but I think the show wanted you to be suspicious.
Mickey wanted to kill Frank at one point too, I think Ian will calm him, just as he did when he had a hard on for killing Frank. thinking he was going to tell when he found them in the store room doing the nasty.

I just loved the pace of last night’s show, you couldn’t turn away or you’d miss all the nuances and jokes.
Oh, and my mind was on Fiona when that gun went off. Kevin put his entire family in danger, by having a rifle in the house, and yet Fiona gets crapped all over for the coke. Liam thank goodness is okay, but what could have been worse? Newborns dying from a gunshot wound or a toddler od? If someone reports the gunshot will Kevin be charged and humiliated like Fiona? Or is society more forgiving of guns instead of drugs?
I don’t want to hijack this thread but…
…If I lived in their shitburg neighborhood, I’d have a gun too.
Frank getting moved up the list was pure deus ex machina (thought I love that Ian brought up the whole “still married to Monica thing”, that was bugging me ;)) Also who would’ve that that Carl would turn out to be the fancy upper class boyfriend.
I seriously doubt anybody’s going to notice, let alone bother reporting it. As for Fiona, at least she finally took responsibility and turned herself in. No question she’ll end up in jail, but that’s probably the only thing standing in between 3 months (out in time for season 5) and 3 years. Sucks to be Lip, though maybe Sheila will focus on her new “stepchildren” instead of random Native-American orphans.
Lip finally manned up to the fact that Fiona has been carrying this family on her own at 21 with really no help from him or Ian. Now he understands the pressure she’s under. That was the best part of the last episode.
My point about the gun thing is that it’s just as heinous an act as drugs in the house. But V won’t call the cops, and of course it won’t be brought to the attention of child welfare. Fiona never had a chance or a choice. She’s poor, and single. If Fiona was from Oak Park and rolling in dough this would probably never come to light in the court room either. A high priced lawyer would have made this all go away. What makes this story so compelling is the fact that poverty takes away freedom.
Mickey was fucking awesome tonight. Just fantastic, from the moment he told Ian, “Yeah, we’re a couple” to actually telling everyone else. Bonus points for telling Svetlana that she has it better now than she ever will.
Frank broke my heart when he thought Fiona had died. Those scenes with that little girl were precious.
Sheila has become a ridiculous character, IMO.
Bonnie and Carl are pretty sweet together, for delinquents. I’m glad they’re not having sex.
For a show that is supposed to be a comedy, I’m just damn glad we didn’t get invested too much in the little girl. How sad she died, even though we knew it was coming…Frank deep down has a soul. He knows he’s been such a shit to his kids.
Having said that, loved the episode. I am glad that Mickey had it out with the old man, it was an insanely bitter fight. But Mickey finally realised he just can’t have someone so toxic keeping him down. Loved also that the cop let Mickey go, there just had to be justice for the shitty lie he’s had to deal with.
Sheila is ridiculous, but Franks life is ridiculous, so there’s that.
The Social worker finally gets it. The Gallaghers look out for others like them or worse off. That’s definitely a reason to be invested.
I’m guessing next week will show us more of Fiona in prison, I hope she doesn’t have to stay long. Just not excited about turning this into Orange is the New Black. I hope the priority is the Gallagher family.
Cracked up at Carl’s line…“Maybe that’s her real mom…”
Great episode. That’s a “coming out” scene you don’t often see on television. heh.
If (and only if) he shot one of the infants who then had to be rushed to the hospital would it be remotely comparable. And in that case, yes, he would have been busted at the scene and sent to prison like Fiona was.
Kevin’s misfire is equivalent to an alternate universe’s Fiona birthday bash where Liam didn’t get into the coke. The truism here is: No harm, no foul. Fiona’s mistake caused great harm, thus it’s a foul. Kevin’s caused no harm, so no foul.
Unless you think Fiona was going to get ratted out to the cops for just having the coke in the house even if Liam never got into it?
Anyone catch the bit with Frank–in his delirium–he thought that Sheila was his mom and told her to wait until they got home to kiss him like that? Weird incest thing keeps popping up.
Yeah, I noticed that line too. It’s nice when the show let’s you see a bit of what made Frank into Frank. He didn’t just come into the world as fucked up as he is.
Sheila’s reaction to that was priceless.
My point is a shot was fired-so something happened, and yet nobody reported it. If it were reported, Kev should have at least been booked for child endangerment. But the truth is nobody gives a flying fuck if guns are around kids. Fiona called the authorities, Kevin didn’t. She gets it up the bunghole and he gets to go Zen.
True. His mother was something else, and she treated Frank like a used diaper, and yet the other family members must have been spared.
And Svetlana just lost what power she had over Micky. I loved how nobody other than Terry even reacted to his coming out; talk about a poorly kept secret. It was really sad Mandy wasn’t there. I really hope she ends up killing her boyfriend rather than vice versa.
It was, especially since she’d been flirting with him the whole time he thought he was her mother.
