*Show Off Time* What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Currently listening to Johnny Cash’s Unchained specifically Kneeling Drunkard’s Plea.

Hopefully he comes back with another album although Solitary Man is apparently going to be the last.

A really good, brand-new album called African Travels, traditional African music meets modern dance mix DJs.
Jammin’

Number One Crush by Garbage. Before that it was really something obscure and Japanese that I got from Napster.

An old recording (1934) of Wanda Landowska playing Scarlatti sonatas on that huge whacking harpsichord she had made for herself back in 1912.

Right now it’s the G minor one, Kk234.

Right now I’m listening to Art Bell’s show from last night. It’s my greatest shame.

Richie Havens: Cuts to the Chase

Specifically The Times They are a-Changin’

One of those old dead guys, Mozart.

Right now, I am listening to the Production Manager tell the Ass’t. Production Manager about his new puppy. It’s a German Shepherd/Mastiff mix, and I don’t know if he and his wife know what they’ve gotten themselves into . . .

Before I left home this morning, though, I was listening to a tape of Billy Jones & Ernie Hare, “The Happiness Boys.”

Well, I changed my mind… wonder of wonders.

Decided it was time for one of my old stand-bys: Olive - Extra Virgin. G-d, this is such a great CD.

*~"…Couldn’t you have told me before? I would’ve loved you so much more. Couldn’t you have told me before? Feeling like an outlaw…"~ *

Well, let’s see…
I have a three disc changer in my office, (one of the perks of having your own office, even if it has no windows) and this is what’s in there.

  1. Staind - Break the Cycle, which is one of the best purchases I’ve
    ever made.
  2. Tool - Lateralus Still getting used to this one…
  3. Jane’s Addiction - XXX album. (I believe this is their first album,
put out on a label that no longer exists.)
When I take out the JA and the Tool, (because the Staind has been in there for about a week) more than likely it will be Green Day’s “1039 Smoothed out Slappy Hours” and Social Distortion’s “Live at the Roxy”.

I have the new Rammstein album Mutter on a continuous loop along with the ‘secret track’ Halleluiah (which should have been a single).

And if I may jump up on this kleine deutsche soap box for a minute:

I would encouarage those of you who have been on the fence regarding Rammstein to please give this new album a listen. It’s much different and much better than their past stuff and there’s many different STYLES of music on it that I think you would enjoy.

No, it’s not the greatest lyrical/musical album of all time, they are not the next Beatles, and they are not for everyone, but if you get the chance, give Mutter a listen.

If you’re not out of your chair DANCING to the song Zwitter, frankly, you must not be alive.

thank you.

jarbaby

Sugarplastic demos and rarities, in mp3 format on my work PC. Currently playing - “Where Dead Bullies Go”.

Something about a song called Hemaphrodite makes me wanna boogie down.

It is an impressive album and I echo jarbabyj in saying you should check it out.

*~" Zwitter… Zwiiitter"~ *

That would be Love Will Keep Us Alive by The Eagles.
Lovely song.

I forsee a little James Ingram - I Don’t Have the Heart next.

Ah, another one who knows the shame of being a devotee of both Cecil and Art. How can this be reconciled? It can’t! Art’s show is the pinnacle of people-with-tinfoil-hats type stuff, but damn it’s fun to listen to, and it can make you a little worried if you are listening at night. I think that’s why it’s so popular, it’s easy to induce paranoia in people when it’s late.

Well, I really like Art dammit, but I won’t listen to any of the other hosts. ART IS BACK!!! YAY!! I’m still not over that.

Beware of Shadow People, and continue on with the thread.

Lucky Charms

A-Souling, by Lothlorien.

A mix of the Beatles, mostly post- Sgt. Peppers stuff, on WinAmp. Wish I had some Pet Sounds to mix in with it.

–Tim

For about the 12th time in two days. Oh how I love this song.

Bach, Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor.
