Signs of spring in the MMP

I like Nettie; it’s meeces I hate to pieces, MetalMouse. :dubious:

Nettie, don’t blame yourself. However all those in favor of blaming flytrap say, “Aye”. Aye!
Took the car in for service this morning, which meant ride to irk. Despite expected record highs in the 70°so later, it’s still cold in the morning. One website said it was 36°F, while the other one said it was 42°F (changing to 45°For on refresh); car thermo read 52°F. I has attire for any & all of those Temps but one dresses differently when it’s 10 or 20°F warmer. There is currently a pile of unworn attire in the passenger footwell.
A midget walked in in front of me (the top of his head was below my belly button). While I was getting my bike ready the owner tried to pull his car in but couldn’t because of the pedal extensions & his bad knees meant he couldn’t bring his laig far enough back to give it some gas.

I am bringing my Channukah card list up to date, Spidey. Seriously, what is your address?

Got my taxes done!

One big worry off my mind. Having the kid back in school made a huge difference. I’m actually getting a small refund from the state.

Now the mortgage company has everything they need, until the net set of documents.

Lunch is in the oven, clothes are in the dryer, next load ready for washer - progress is being made.

It’s been lather rinse repeat here as we wash our way through a pile of chemo laundry. Even his sweat can be toxic so his clothes, towels, bedding, etc get washed separately. He’ll be home for another two weeks then back to hospital for another week or so treatment cycle.

Got a minor victory in the form of finally getting his state disability going. Not exactly a huge cash flow but it is something coming in at least. Still waiting to hear anything from Social Security.

{{{nettie}}} In all likelihood, anyone who would have been brought in in that position would have been let go. I was in a similar situation about 15 years ago. It was a big blow personally, but I bounced back and found another position that lacked the drama.

I asked my neighbor when he was getting his bike out for the summer last evening (we occasionally ride together) and he surprised me when he said that he’d sold it. I think his daughters talked him into that because I can’t see him giving it up on his own. :frowning:

I thought Donald Trump owned Wrigley field. :dubious:

Howdy all! I made it through two days of Labor Relations training and boy am I glad that boring class is over with. I am back to my regular job today and of course am behind. I have spent the day trying to get caught up but have not had much luck as I have too many distractions.

I think I will cut out early today and try again tomorrow.

Yep, when you’re behind schedule nothing gets things back on track like leaving early!

I have temporarily run out of work, but it’s been a busy day, so huzzah! And only half an hour to go. I’m stopping at Food Lion on the way home for assorted grocery matter. I’m thinking we’ll be having rotissed chickie for supper because it’s fast and easy and I won’t have to cook it.

Well here in Vermont the beginning of March is the middle of ski season.

But thanks to El Nino it is friggin 62 degrees out right now.

For comparison the average high for today’s date is 35.

We don’t get to an average high of 65 until May 5th.

The sap has been running since January.

Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived. Two more to go! Dindin shall be soup 'n sammich over to the church house, so easy-peasy.

And no one has caught him yet?

Welcome to the MMP! You shall be assigned a nickname whether you want one or not. I’m thinkin’ Pa but someone else may get a little more creative than that.

Home! Groceries have been procured and stowed. Rotissed chickie was on sale, so extra yay! Served up with some steamed broccoli and instant smashed N.O.T. (judge ye not!) and nanner bread for after.

My poor sweetie is dealing with the crud I had last week. We’re both looking forward to the weekend, and we’re both off on Friday. So just gotta survive tomorrow.

Lovin’ having the windows open! The house smells so fresh!!

So there’s good news in Rockin’land (for once). When I first applied to work for the state, one of the jobs I’d applied and tested for was for a disability determination adjudicator trainee. It pays very well and plays to all of my strengths. I didn’t hear back until a few weeks ago, when I got a letter asking if I’m still available. I sent it back in the affirmative and my interview is next Monday. Cross any and all applicable and inapplicable appendages, please!

It got up to 83 here today.

Since I woke up too early I took a nap, which lasted 4 hours. Napping that long just makes me more tired.
Somewhere in there I remember jumping up in a panic because the mailperson scared the crap out of me. I was napping on the couch and when (s)he put the mail through the slot, it made such a racket I though somebody was breaking in the house.

Good Luck Rockin’

mommmmmm. You are right. I will never get caught up by leaving early but since I did irk on Saturday I am not too far behind. I will try again tomorrow. Just had all I could take today.

**Butters **- just givin’ you grief! Sometimes a break is exactly what you need to move forward.

Supper was yum, and we’ve got half a chicken leftover for salad or pot pie or soup - we shall see how it plays out. I need to make a sammich for tomorrow - I forgot one today and had to stop for a salad. I also forgot to take an orange. Ah well, I survived.

Good luck, Robyn! You can have some of my new-job mojo if you’d like. Five anna half days to go…

Hey there everybody!

Happy Belated Birthday Wishes to kopek, boo fae, and anyone else whose day I have missed!

I must ask, what is a waterspider? Don’t know if I want to know how it makes one sore!

I care nothing about sportsball, but if I did I would have to cheer on the BoSox simply because my favorite author is their Number 1 Fan! :stuck_out_tongue:

(((BBBobbio))) I’m so sorry for your loss.

(((Seanette)))

I read that as Jamie and Adam and was wondering how you came to be working with the MythBusters!

I am out of touch with the MMP, but it sounds as though (((gotti))) could use some hugs too.

Spring is here, and has been busting out all over since last month. I would mention climate change, but since that is a conspiracy I won’t.  I swear that I watched the last few leaves on the neighbor’s willow blow away in December, now it is leafed out. Ornamental cherry and plum trees, forsythia, camillias, magnolias, a pretty shrub with white flowers (I really need to find out what it is, it’s that pretty), and azaleas are all in full bloom all around town; my daffs, hyacinths, crocus, and muscari are blooming, the primroses never stopped blooming, and I have begun pruning my roses since they are insisting that it’s spring as well. I looked out the window and saw Tara (mama pom) making her way out to pee through grass that is almost taller than she is! When the lawn needs mowing it is spring! I never thought I wouldn’t mind if the grass turned brown in the summer, but I don’t, and I may start saving for a riding mower. If the kids won’t keep it mowed I will! I keep threatening to buy a goat, but they know me better. A goat would last long enough to chew on my fruit trees or flowers and it would be tacos de cabra for supper. grr . . . Anyway, my plan is to eliminate the front lawn with flower beds and nice places to sit as my backyard is ablaze all summer, the only shade is in the afternoon/evening in the front yard, and it is a pristine, flat plain, a blank canvas. I did make a new rosebed (with the help of the kids) last year in the front, I have stones to finish off a smallish bed at the corner of the house which will be planted with oriental lilies (the kind that smell so good!), and there is a space I am going to layer with newspaper and then add soil, compost and fert for another bed, so my plan is on it’s way, albeit slowly! I am going for a cottage garden, which means tons of color and texture in a slightly overblown style. Straw bale gardening in the back, plus all of my containers on the deck, can ya tell that I am excited for the 2016 gardening season?

That’s all the news that’s fit to share in my world, dinner tonight will be cheese and crackers and some fruit, and there will be some FV 2 as well. What? If I can’t garden outside due to the pouring rain (big storm today and tonight) I will play at it online!

Mind if I throw the two of you in our intentions at church?

It was an absolutely gorgeous day outside today. We went into town for our weekly Community Lenten Service, which are held on Wednesdays; we’ve been to all but one of them this year. EBT reloaded, so we stocked up on groceries. Also got some dishwashing soap and sponges with the little bit of cash we have. We got home before dark, on purpose: Tomorrow we can cash Mom’s church paycheck, so we’ll get her front headlight replaced and installed.

Actually Monty Python but close enough for government work.

AYE!!!

Its wrapping pallets for shipping like this

except ours weight about 40 pounds with a fresh roll on them and our pallets go up to 80 inches or better. You have to wrap over the top solid so that no-one can reach in and take anything or have something fall out. Because of my heart and stuff, working long periods of time really jacks by BP in a lot of bad ways so its something I don’t do very often if at all. And since I don’t do it often I don’t have the right muscles for flinging that thing around over my head. From exertion my elbows and shoulders ached and from the raised BP I had some soreness in my neck and chest.
