Any spare prayers/good intentions for DH’s job interview tomorrow would be gratefully received.
Took a more-or-less goof-off day today (one irk-related meeting, got nails done), and tomorrow’s going to be fairly leisurely as well. I do have a hair appointment in the morning and class in the evening.
The local TV news guy that almost got squished yesterday had a nice safe day in the studio today. Can’t say I blame him…
Sounds like someone gave a kid a trumpet but not enough lessons next door. They were picking their way through a song that went something like "Mar. Honnk. Had. A. Lit. Tle. Lamb. Lit. Tle. Blaat. Lit. Bleet. Lamb… Fortunately, they gave up after about ten minutes.
{{{Gotti}}} Best wishes for more good news on the disability front. I thought he had to spend months in the hospital? I hope that the 2 weeks at home means that things are going well.

Today I once again proved that I need more practice with spoon management. I took my son’s bed apart (literally). It was falling apart, and I needed to put several pieces of the frame back in place. Now I’m sitting here feeling like maybe that was a bit much. At least he won’t go crashing to the floor like a sitcom or something, which would have happened fairly soon. At 3 am.
Pabitel I found this definition when I went looking: pabitel: a person fascinated by their own fate, in love with life, does and says unreasonable things, searches for beauty in the simplest objects and events, and likes to twist reality around to fit their liking; someone who proves that life is worth living. Nickname proposals based on that: Guru, Half Full, Navel Gazer.
Oh, they looked. It was thoroughly ransacked. They took inventory of everything in my car and said “meh - I’ll pass.”
I mean, yay, not missing anything. But does this mean I have shitty stuff?! I think I have good stuff. Does that mean I have bad taste??! I think I have good taste. At least decent taste. Am I some tacky oaf, completely oblivious to my own status as the butt of jokes? Is my name a freestanding punchline when I’m not around at work? Do my kids disclaim me when I pick them up from school? Oh, that’s my uncle. Distant uncle. By marriage. No blood. And he’s blind.
I mean shit, they could have just taken SOMETHING. Jerks.
Howdy Y’all! Home from soup ‘n sammich over to the church house as well as goin’ with JDD over to his brother’s house. Looks like somebody broke in through the roof and came down the attic pull down ladder. Some stuff is missin’, not of any real value but one strange thing is whoever took down three light fixtures but left other of the same like fixtures. Weird. Don’t think I will be adventurin’ over there any time soon. ICK!
gotti yay for small victories. Here’s hopin’ the SS stuff gets sorted out soonest.
So I had a lady cough into my face, the truck driver knocked over a bunch of boxes with his truck when he was leaving(the boxes he put there himself), and I’ve had multiple people scream at me because we would not accept coupons for a different item than they were buying. Is it St. Patrick’s Day yet?
AYE!
All opposed?
: crickets :
I bet they got SCMDOS.(My dad worked at the J.C. Pennys in the mall where they had the car chase )
Ribbon? Pabitel–>Pabst Blue Ribbon.
But are you OK?

Emtar, that…sucks. I’m sure you have only the finest crap in your car. And welcome back!
Back in 1979 my 1972 Shinto (a Pinto in less than good condition) was stolen from a parking lot and returned later that day. The fuel gauge never worked right so I know that they drove it for about 13 miles before deciding that “this turd is no joy ride” and brought it back. At least they kept a couple of my 8-tracks. :smack:

The long stay will be for the stem cell transplant. We’re still doing regular chemo at this point, and he’ll be back in hospital for another week, two weeks from now.
Last work day this week. Wonder if I’ll have any work? Nothing on my desk this morning, so we shall see. I had hoped this would be my last day… stoopit boss.
It is supposed to be the last really warm day for a while. Hope it’s nice enough in the next couple of days that I can get my gardens raked out so the daffydills and such will be happy. I’m pretty sure the rain threat has been rescinded.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Later than usual cause I have a doctor’s appointment at eight thirty so I’m slackin’ a bit this mornin’. 'Tis 61 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 84 and sunny for the day. NICE!
Nettie appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re DH’s job interview.
Em could have been worse (or would that be better). The would be thief could have taken your old stuff and replaced it with better stuff to make your stuff more steal worthy.
HMMMMM… PBR I’m kinda likin’ that!
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I should also purtify for the doc and irk I suppose.
Boss just came by and asked what I’m working on. Um, he’s the boss - isn’t he supposed to know that kind of stuff??
For the record, I’m not working on anything at the moment. I was reading CNN when he came in here. But he couldn’t let today be my last day - he needs me thru next week. Yeah.
Hang in there, Moooomm…I’ve got 36 days after this one.
doggio, you wrote:
Why St. Patrick’s? So you can have a bunch of drunken psuedo-Irish looking for a fight come into your store? :p;)
Nettie, keeping fingers crossed for DH’s interview.
Rockin’, good luck on the job interview. Knock’em dead (or at least impress the hell out of them).
Ruble, keep an eye on that BP. And here I thought waterspiders had something to do with a certain MMPer with a hose jammed up his…but this is MPSIMS, so further comment is not suitable…
Managed to ignore the on-line training class I need to take yesterday, but got a warning that it expires in 5 days (I’d have to sign up again), so maybe today…or Firday. Not exactly motivated.
Well, get to fly Atlanta to Johannesburg in June non-stop. Not sure how many 15+ hour flight there are in the world, but I’ve collected more than my share, IMHO.
Rain is suppossed to descend tomorrow and continue to threaten until next Moanday. But at least it’ll stay in the 60’s/70’s, and my heating bill is duly appreciative.
I’ve been in here more than 2 anna half hours. I went into the data base and updated the part names on 4 drawings. That’s the total of “work” I’ve done today. I did pick a bunch of dead leaves off my spider plant - I think I’ll take it home today. This weekend, all the spiders and the 2 banana plants go back outside.
Treacherous brain woke me early, which is sorta good, because. why waste a day off… gonna try to mow the Yahd today, (never done that before, PB usually takes care of it.) Also plan to clean out my 'erb box, work on the flowerbed, & put out the solar lights I got last month.
If I manage all that we shall see what else is on the agenda for today…
**FCD **called. Apparently Taz peed on my side of the bed this morning. He was sniffing around there yesterday and I tossed him out but my sweetie missed the signs today. Luckily, it was confined to the comforter and blanket, which I’d planned to launder tomorrow anyway. Instead, I’ll wash them and hang them out tonight. There’s a chore I hadn’t planned for today.
